FWIW, my mother was a real Ozark hillbilly. My grandfather was farming 60 acres of flint rock and post oak (about 1/3 of which was “vertical real estate”) with a horse team in the late 60s in SW Missouri.

Things – you make a good point – I fear that many people in power look at politics as a game, as a spectator sport, instead of the way that important decisions are made affecting the lives of millions.
