And as for all you human trespassers onto birdieland, what’s the dang fuss?!
You make or usurp the conditions, and they react. Bah dah boom!

Put some slope shaped thingie, i.e., tilted, like me, in the way of the robin’s fave spot.

Be thankful for the phoebes, for they will keep thou from turning the air blue over your “mosquito problem” later on, if you just leave them be. If you just cannot abide the dear birdies, look for an overhang on a shed or barn or whatever, in neutral territory outside your personal war zone. Affix there-upon a little ledge just under said overhang, clean up thy language and point to it next time you see Ms. Phoebe, NICELY. Oh, and if you just MUST keep your lives totally apart, put a barrier up denying the poor phoebe access to proper nesting platform.

egad. some of my best friends are phoebes.

Robins and windows. Wait a bit, and the testosterone level will ease up when he’s got babes to feed. Like most good dads, Mr. Robin’s a bit over-the-top during sporting season. Or hang draperies on the outside surface of all the windows in your house. Or close your shutters and live in the dark, like Dick.

Actually I have to watch that. My sweetie lost his sense of humor when the same dang stack of plastic dishes I have no trubble with tipped over for him the 4th time in a row. I finally suggested he leave that specific project to me. Now how do I tactfully keep him off the trapeze?

Another way to keep unwanted birds off your property is to put up some fake owls on it. Works like a charm in most instances.

Once, sitting in a van having a discussion with Sioux elders and medicine men, a golden eagle swept by with the feathers on his wing grazing the windsheild as he looked in at us. Everyone considered it a spiritual message.

my mom’s neighbor had a neurotic robin constantly banging on his dining room window..was a mess.we tried every remedy we could find. drove him nuts.none worked, until he hung a sheet on the outside of the window. then taped brown paper up when it worked. he was that desperate to end it. poor bird, don’t know how it lived through it. came back two years in a row.

another friend had two cardinals doing it..they just stopped one day.
a lot of times it’s your shiny clean windows, they see their reflection and are being territorial.

decals work sometimes.

I’m late, but had to answer the question on who Gizzi is. He has to be Tom Bosley’s evil twin.

Otherwise, I listened to Mario Cuomo this morning can avoid the others today.
