FITZ!
We need a hero.
Funny Fitzgerald Diva
Hi FunnyD
I would have to say Marcy is my current hero.
I’ll munch to that.
Funny Wheel Diva
Hi ES & Firepups!
Well, yes.
Loo Fitzgerald Hoo.
Sanctus. Sanctus. Sanctus.
I love it! FunnyWheel.
Who’s the Crosby young woman?
ndfg!
How’s bayou?
FunnyD
Hey, you! How’s it going?
hiya ES!
Humm?
Hmmm Eureka Wheelie Springs
Hi Loo Hoo, ndfg, and demi
Agnus Demi.
I’m cracking myself up.
How are you doing, Eureka?
I only have TWO more days of work!!!!
Latin. Holy, holy, holy.
I’m still singing the Mozart Requiem in my head.
Someone else tell her Agnus Demi is funny.
Just discovered her.. Some young LA singer/songwriter. Had to laugh when I found her twitter page. She’s recording a song or album with a guy named Josh Nash.
yes, marcy is definitely one of my heros right now. She is Teh Awesome.
Oh, that’s funny.
That’s our least favorite of Sussmayer’s efforts in the Requiem. Bach’s is much better.
His Benedictus, on the other hand…”If Mozart didn’t write that Benedictus, well, he would/should have”.

I’m well, thank you. Eating a very late supper and just hearing about a quake in Southern CA. You OK, Loo Hoo?
“agnus demi” is a 707, man.
Mom! Can I go to Demi’s house for dinner? She’s fixing lamb!
FunnyWheelDiva
wahhh! i’m jealous! green with envy!
I see. I think! *g*
Just fine, thanks. Just a scare. Hope everyone farther north is okay.
Did you feel the quake, demi?
Hi Eureka. You know your music, doncha?
(Di)ES Irae.
LooHoo
She’s punning on Agnus Dei, lamb of god that takest away the sin of the world…
FunnyWheelD
Good one!
But I have too many days of wrath myself. Good thing my initials are not ES.
So much for driving by, huh?
Glad you’re still here.
FunnyD
So, I see the Digg thingy is back. Did they change their policy, or are they still EEEEVIL?
FunnyWD
Then let the sin be gone! (Except for the torture creators)
Loo Wheelio Hoo
Nope. Just read about it. pt. 5 is not that big and we’re about 40 miles from the epicenter.
And, I was listening to a big old pipe organ!
Angus Dei = Lamb of God. Dei = God Demi = minor goddess. :)
They removed it from the front page only. It has yet to be replaced. I don’t know what’s going on, but I am hearing some ambiguity now as to whether or not they are really stealing traffic.
Really. I seem to be stuck. Poured a glass of wine, and you and Loo have sucked me in.
NDFG, I feel so fortunate that I have a pension.
Ah. Thanks.
Yeah, I bet there’s a little CYA scrambling going on. They messed with the wrong blogger!
Funny Wheelie Diva
Hey, everyone needs a drink and de-compress after a great concert. That’s a seriously amazing piece of music. I’m glad your soloists were good. That soprano part, particularly, is a challenge.
It’s a lot of hard work to make Mozart sound as effortless and transparent as it needs to!
Funny Wheelie Diva
My sister, who also teaches 4th grade got a pink slip, but then they rescinded it.
And, you still haven’t told me what your plans are. So?
We’re all delighted that you do, Loo W Hoo!
Got any big plans yet for your new phase of life?
Funny Wheelie Diva
The alto was your typically large boned girl, but the soprano was this thin little thing, but with huge pipes. The tenor was a short eyetalian guy, beard and all, but the bass was like a cross between Lurch and Captain Picard and when he opened his mouth, I just fell out. He was amazing.
Is this girl’s night out? We can switch the topic to fishing or baseball or torture if you want.
Oh, I bet the Tuba Mirum was amazing.
I’ve seen soloists in all shapes and sizes. And degrees of amazing-ness.
A cross between Lurch and Cpn Picard. Oh, that’s LOL. MMMMMMMMMake it so!
FunnyD
Nooo plans right now. I’m just going to relax for a while and watch the prosecutions roll out. If I get bored I’ll do something totally outside of education. I’d like to be a buyer for Nordstrom in my dreams!
OK, speaking of torture…
I went to see Star Trek today (Loved it!) and had to sit through the trailer/advert for Glenn Beck’s “comedy” show–TWICE!!!
Second time, I talked back to the announcer…”why is this man wringing out every last tear?” “because he doesn’t have any brain cells left! DUH!”
His “comedy” tour is called laugh or die. I’m thinking, more like laugh and (think about) shoot libruls and brown pipples, but that could just be my own librul bias talking.
FunnyD
I am so out of the loop these days. I was just looking at Crosby’s web page. She’s wearing an acid wash denim jacket. Do a lot of people still wear that horrible fashion item?
I can’t believe how many good reviews (even from non trekkies) I am hearing. Can’t wait to see it.
saw a movie (netflix) this weekend which I really liked… called Little Children.
Better ask Loo Hoo, the Nordstrom’s Girl.
Me? I’m sitting here in my unders and a tank top. Damn, it’s not cooling down tonight.
EEEWWWW. What’s Boner got on his chin?
Have you heard the new Clapton/Winwood album? Just heard about it today, but haven’t heard it yet.
Heh.
TheOnion: #Earthquake Safety Tip: To minimize loss and damage in a quake, try not to own things.
Yuck. Maybe something bad from too many sessions in the tanning bed?
I’m not a trekkie either, but I thought it was great. Very true to the cheesy original, I thought. And I mean that in a GOOD way. The friend I went with doesn’t like that the writers used a time-travel/parallel universe crutch to make the plot work, and afterward we ran into someone who hated the obvious story-line changes.
Anyway, it was hugely entertaining. But there are no fun little surprises or teasers after the credits, just so you know.
FunnyD
No, not yet. love both of them.
I don’t keep up on fashion, but I suspect that the washed denim is out…but real denim will ALWAYS be in. (I still have my high school Levi jacket!)
I’d just like to work for Nordstrom cuz they buy quality…which saves money in the long run…and if something shrinks after it’s washed, you return it.
Plus, think of the travel!
HA! And I love glass…
looks like he might be a little confused about that whole ass-hat thing.
Which he is. Nancy should say she’ll apologize when all the Goopers apologize to Valerie Plame!
FunnyD
I love them both too, but I saw a video/movie once with Clapton — don’t remember what it was — and I sure didn’t like the way he was interacting with the other musicians. I like nice people.
Sorry about that. Want some watermelon? Right outta my fridge, couldn’t be sweeter, nearly seedless! *slurrrp*
We’ve finally had 80-degree weather here this weekend. A nice change, except for not having AC in my car.
FunnyD
Oh no.. maybe it was when he was still drinking.. or right when he really quit. /s
Heard about the Clapton/Winwood today on NPR, but can’t find it on their site.
I’ll pass on the watermelon, but thanks hon. I’ve got to have someone check my car a/c. It’s not working either and I’m hoping it’s an easy fix, like adding freon.
Welp, the glass of wine’s gone and so am I. Hugs to all. Thanks for helping me decompose, I mean decompress after the concert.
Maybe so. Thanks for being here.
((ES))
Nighty-night.
y’all come Bach, now, y’hear!
Hugs
FunnyD
Good night, decompressed demi..)
Night, demi.
Amazon has it. It’s a live Madison Square Garden concert CD DVD.
har har har
hey everybody
neuroemptyfitz
Well, Pups
I’m off, too. Maybe a little reading before lights-out (fiction).
Thanks to one and all…it’s been lovely spending the evening with you!
Funny Wheelie Diva
So, she’s a Crosby, and he’s a Nash?>
Are there any familial links here, to David and Graham?
Good to see you too Funny D. rest well.
LOL… but which one is your hero?
I don’t think so, but I don’t know anything about the young Nash.
Night FWD.
that would be the sandwich
Geez. Gives me a hankering for some Purple Haze!
The probably have a fine equivalent in Panama. /s
Well it looks like we all hit the wall simultaneously.
Good night firedogs.
I guess he was a bit of a rambler, sort of a ramblin’ man. Not so popular until he met up with the other guys. Great together!
I’ve been thinking a couple of days about how the gov’t might help California. Aid for the homeless is one good step. Simply writing a check wouldn’t be popular in various ways, but maybe gov’t can boost payments for federally mandated things, especially border crossing security and port security? There’s a real war going on south of the border and that might scare people into moving. North of the border they need help. And, now with the small “earthquake”, it’s anybody’s guess what that will do to their fragile budget. One or two small crises and they could fall off a cliff. Lord knows their assembly will cave-in at a moment’s notice.
They need more than just magic crystals & prayer beads.
Hi everyone….. fell asleep on my new sofa….. must be a testimony to comfort.
Last Saturday afternoon I had to put asleep my wonder Dog Miss Dog. She was just weeks from her 15th birthday. She had gone completely deaf, blind, and then was hit with the sundowner syndrome hard. Constantly she would just pace and pace to the point of distraction and driving me nuts even in my brain fog. So Elmore and I took her in but could not stay because it hurt too much. My lovely Miss Dog now is in a better place.
katymine. I’m so sorry.
RIP (((Miss Dog)))
Bonjour pups, from Paris. It finally stopped raining, though I see out my window that it is clouding over. Thought I would share a comment I just picked up via Atrios. They punished a handfull of soldiers who were ‘just following orders’ at Abu Ghraib. Commenter notes that this was o.k. for the likes of Bobo at the time, because the perps were hillbillies. As to the men at the top, their Nuremberg defence is ‘I was only giving orders.’ What ever sells, I guess. Seems to be working so far.
Oh Knut…. how can you torment Elmore and I about Paris?
Hopefully next year when I am on a chemo pill…….
