59, 47, 168, 273, 365….It won’t be technically official until tomorrow, but according to the state Board of Elections, Scott Murphy won his seat in Congress over Jim Tedisco by 726 votes. The final tally, which the commissioners will meet to certify at a noon meeting in Albany, is 80,833 to 80,107.

I am suddenly taking full advantage of the O stimulus bill. I got a grant to upgrade my skills. I am taking a 20 week course to improve my html and will learn javascript. I found a place that will help me with my utility bills. And the same organization, The Community Resource Project, is putting the O weatherization plan for 6 million homes in place. Ron and I qualified and will be getting insulation, four new windows, and, maybe, a ton of other things done to our house. Perhaps a new ac/heating system cause it didn’t turn on today. I am still looking for grant money to live on while I go to school. But I am ever hopeful.

The Palin administration is aggressively attacking the AK bloggers, who are in alliance with some of the people filing ethics complaints against Palin. I’m involved in getting a fundraiser or two together to help pay the costs of one of the complainants.

And I have to paint the entire outside of the house and put up a new roof this summer. And was just awarded commissions for three orchestral works for about a year from now.

How is Palin attacking the bloggers? Not like what happened to the guy in Arizona I hope.

Best thing about my arm injury.. painting the house will have to wait another year. And i am seriously considering a metal roof in a few years. Something that will last as long as I do. And I love the sound of rain on a metal roof.

I was going to put html links in my earlier comment, but I just installed firefox for Mac10.5, and it won’t let me. Her chief-of-staff leaked an email late last week to right-wing radio supporters of Palin, and to the biggest gossip columnist in Alaska, who is a Palin supporter, trying to belittle the emailer, Andree McLeod. Other pushbacks ongoing against us that I can’t talk about. And we’re trying to create a new radio paradigm, under the auspices of Jeremy Lansman, an alternative radio legend.

Palin’s staff is spending way too much time complaining about bloggers and citizen activists.

Next week, Eric Boehlert’s book, Bloggers on the Bus comes out. Chapter 13 is devoted to Alaska bloggers and hew 2008 election. Shannyn Moore and I spent some time helping Eric as he wrote it.

Really got a buzz from the Pink Mountaintops “Plastic Man”. It is so fast moving with deep deep issue of great import. I would say it is an important political cultural work…like the “Man the Hill”. So excellent thanks for all the hours of digging to find and share. Something to watch and post again.

Rowed to the sand spit into a stiff breeze. Disembarked to lay on the warm sand dunes and snoozed…then farmer’s market got my alstramarias and went home and snoozed. Got a roof, food music and the net and some nice flowers and my garden is coming right along.

Arm’s getting better, still very weak… can barely lift my elbow up as high as my shoulder and I can put my hand on top of my head… but not hold it there for long. Nevertheless it’s getting much much better. I hope to be back in the kayak for fall rains. we shall see.
