They’re being so mean to Rush.
check out the look on Pat Buchanan’s face on the still of the YouTube posted with the article. He looks like someone killed his kitteh – or stole his autographed picture of Nixon…
Cheney is repeating the same damn lie he was on last week about waterboarding KSM only after conventional interrogation failed. He’s counting on us not connecting his capture date with it being the very same month he was waterboarded 183 times. What I found encouraging in this interview is that Bob Schieffer seems to sound exasperated by Cheney. I think he knows that Cheney is spreading bullshit and calls him on a lot of it. I find it an encouraging development that many of our arguments are thrown back at Cheney by Schieffer. It’s especially encouraging that he points out that adopting torture makes us less secure. Cheney had to regroup a bit when he was hit with that.
Republican Party needs to assert itself..as a new breakout ‘TEA-PARTY’. With Rush and Chaney taking the helm to lead the Party forward. Our country nees strong leadership..two bags in every cup.
If Cheyney had two functioning brain cells, he’d take his Halliburton boodle and disappear. Ah, but his conscience won’t let him.
Way to go, BT, didn’t know you already had the story about Roxana when I posted my diary. I’ll update.
The idiot pointed the torture finger directly at Bush!
That’s pretty much what Pat Buchanan always looks like. I can’t comprehend why he’s still on these shows.
I agree. And a blatant racist. Still. In 2009. He must have one hell of a contract.
His kidneys haven’t failed yet.
Chee-knee watched Blago’s jury pool poisoning publicity crusade and decided if it’s good enough for Rod, it’s good enough for Dick
On Morning Joe, Worthless Woodward just said Darth had a dinner in celebration of the invasion of Iraq one month after it began, at which they mocked Colin Powell.
A dinner in celebration of a war.
Tells you all you need to know about the whole sick bunch.
Or pictures involving farm animals.
I have asked before, and nobody seems to know whether these guests are paid, and I never manage to catch Jane (who WOULD know) on a thread to ask her. I would assume so, and I don’t have a problem with that. But it must provide a nice income (or additional income) for those who are frequent guests, like Jonathan Turley, Melissa Harris-Lacewell, etc. (The latter is quite the going commercial concern, has her own media person!)
I keep thinking of reverse wingnut welfare (she’s NOT a wingnut) when I see Ana Marie Cox on Rachel’s show. Or Margaret Carlson on Countdown. Neither impresses me much. Nor, for that matter, Richard Wolffe or Jonathan Alter.
I can’t comprehend why he’s still on these shows.
He’s a barometer. When Pat’s a-scowlin’, something, somewhere has gone right.
on edit: substitute “correctly” for “right”.
I watched Frost/Nixon over the weekend. For those of us old enough to vividly remember the whole Watergate scandal as it unfolded, and Nixon’s resignation, some of the scenes reinforced how many parallels there are to the Bush administration, since the Nixon administration is where Cheney, Rumsfeld et al were spawned.
LOL. So true.
Allāhu Akbar !
relieved for her family and the community of Fargo.
can’t help but wonder if having grown ups back in charge at State have something to do with this
Mornin’ All
Turley is worth every dime he does or (doesn’t) get.
I agree with your view on the others, however.
Nixon’s resignation speech was a memorable moment for me. Not because Nixon was resigning but because during the speech a guy came to the door with a pistol accusing me of fooling around with his wife. Wasn’t true and I don’t know the outcome of that domestic spat but having only a screen door between me and a .38 wasn’t very comfortable.
Actually, I like Melissa Harris-Lacewell a lot. And Turley and Krugman. It is a pleasure to have such knowledgeable commentators. The others, not so much.
I would just assume they are paid some standard amount, if nothing else, for their appearances.
Cheeknee be so funneee! Arguing for transparency…”if we’re going to have this debate it ought to be a complete debate and those memos ought to be out there….” Yeah, just like, umm, Energy Task Force info, Plame leak info, …where’s Hugh’s list?
Okey dokey artichokey, let’s give him some transparency and right now!
Maria ‘knee pads’ Bartowhatever just deservedly got smacked down trying to lay the recession on the unions by Rep. Kanjorski on Morning Joe.
I believe one pad has “wall” written on it, the other has “street”.
Got free tickets to new Star-Trek flick…clearly it is about Osama acquiring drill bit from Halliburton to drill into core of planet Vulcan..clearly. It was allllsuuum.
YOW!! No wonder you remember it!! I remember the night Nixon’s resignation was announced. I lived on a cul de sac in a typical suburban neighborhood, and all of the neighbors gathered in the street with adult beverages to cheer the beginning of the end of the “long national nightmare.”
However, I was, and still am, firmly against Ford’s pardon of Nixon, because I think it led directly to the second national nightmare of Bushco.
I was at a friend’s duplex in a complex of them. All the neighbors came out into the grassy area in the middle. Turned out to be a great party. Apparently the lady in question knew my name and my friend’s name and knew where my friend lived. I’ve always wondered how my name got involved in that mess.
Wow. Good golly. msmomlly (@24) is right. That’ll kinda stick in the memory. I remember tape recording the resignation speech on a prtable acssette tape recorder and temn following that by taping “Happy Days Are Here Again.” Was a very interesting summer. Pete Rodino was the rep in the next district and had been ours during one configuration of that district. Good guy. we were all really proud. And he offset the two R yahoos from NJ on the judiciary commitee (Sandman and Marazitti).
Coffee’s done so I’m off to the great capitalist cesspool. Haven’t seen the little female stray at work for a few days. Hope to see her this morning. Little male has the food routine figured out and rarely ventures far.
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
The City Beautiful is in a state of shock after the game last night. And some dickweed in The Boston Globe called us “Hooterville by Lake Eola.”
I’m sure they’re paid.

Such charming spokesmodels the Repukelickin’s choose. Like the one on the ads swiftboating national health care.
Take a sec’ to sign the petition in favor of universal single-payer national health care. It’ll piss the bastards off.
Thanks.

What?!? Cheney is a crazy thug. Cheney is pro-classification or declassification–depending on what? which way the political winds blow?
Cheney: waterboarding is bipartisan.
