Hi, Suz, Pups
Glad to see nobody blew away last night. It got pretty wild here.
And I was really hoping that having the heater in my car repaired would bring the warmer weather…darn!
FunnyDiva
hey sunny
Oh my, that sure does rock!
Doing fine here, burning up some more leave and taking another week off from work ;-) And I’m looking again to try and adopt a kitteh…I met John tonight.
I have to pay closer attention. I blame Petro.
Hi Ellie! Are you as sick of this East Coast rain as I am?
hey funny d – i figure it is all my fault. i hung a brand new filled with birdseed birdfeeder out on the deck. the winds started to pick up that afternoon. must be sorta like that wash the car and it rains deal.
what a handsome fella ll.
sunny, didja hear about spector may be not getting seniority? iirc, it was a wapoo article – let me see if i can find it
found it sunny
WOW! what a handsome young man. oh la LA!
And yes, this weather is killing me.
Go for it LL,
do eeet!
He sure is, Suz; tomorrow I’m going to meet another cat from this rescue organization. Not making any rash decisions this time around, since the last time didn’t work out so well. Hoping to find a nice kitteh companion to accompany me into retirement and beyond :-)
lol ;-) One way or another, I am determined!
YES!
and John is the one, get him!
take your time and listen carefully and you will know when you have found what you are looking for ll.
retirement is great fun – and pets are such wonderful companions.
from the same dvd, ask me no questions
You have Stormy Monday and I already have Tuesdays Gone.
I wish the rain would get the hint.
Be safe.
Gnite.
Ellie, John is a really nice guy, but tomorrow I meet another boy kitty named Beau — all black, long-haired, with a white patch on his chest — gonna be a tough decision!
and here they are doing stevie’s texas flood
g’nite busted – stay dry
ha ha ha.
Guess Harry did too…
Pets are great fun and companions!! And now I hope to be able to enjoy my Official Retirement without the worries we have been going through … My 62nd coming up at the end of the month!! But of course you have to wait two months before uncle Sam starts doling out the moula you have been putting in all those years!!
For those of you who remember Howie Klein’s friend Patrick Dwyer, who did such a sweet cover of Heavenly Day,
Here’s his latest — Moon River
I’m campaigning for a cover of Donovan’s “Catch the Wind”
http://www.myspace.com/patrickdwyermusic
hahaha yeah, aint it grand having something to laugh about
‘I blame Petro.’
What vile snowback plot has been launched now?
;>)
I’d be hard pressed to name one fave SRV song, because they’re all so great — but this one is way, way up there on my list.
Hi Bye Busted(:>))
Night, Busted.
LL, John is a cutie, but I have to second Suzanne: take your time…the right one will find you.
FunnyD
what wonderful ear candy ellie – wow, love his cover of that
*waving to nahant* I’ve missed the past few days around here, how are you doing?
hey db
Hi FunnyD, thanks for that affirmation :-) I’m being really careful this time!
that is a song near and dear to my heart. that and ‘things i used to do’.
You are in my prayers dude.
So are a couple of other Firedog pups.
Just great LL!! Hows things back in the Leesburg area??
srv doing things that i used to do
Oh, no question — and for me, another one is Change It
Thanks Busted (:>)) And Yeah especially (((Katymine)))hope she is healing quickly… Wish I could rub some of my luck off on her..
Really good here nahant (aside from the constant rain we’re having!) Did I miss some good news on your health front?
i would have a hard time limiting my fsv srv to top 10 – change it is another great one.
((( katymine ))) Sending all good thoughts and wishes your way…
His northerly countenance is all that’s required. Plots are icing.
why do you have to wait 2 months?? (you’re 3 months older than i am)
elmore came into a thread sun (iirc) and said katy was doing well, she was recovering nicely from the star wars zap of her brain tumors.
That’s great to hear, Suz; I’m sure she’s been getting loads of good karma from all of the pups here.
Turns out that Ms. California had a tit job and nudie photos taken before becoming the conservative fundie queen of traditional marriage…
I could care less about the composition of her breasts or who she chooses to show them to, but there must be some underlying mechanism that causes a large majorit of persons who have sexual issues to come out against people with sexual issues. Would love to understand it.
Great! I missed elmore’s second post.
Katymine!!!
hey rw – how ya been?
Not bad—waiting warm weather- it comes- and then it goes- a teaser sun.
AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Suzanne and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
Startin’ another week in the box so keep the tunes hot and the conversation hotter…how ya doin’ Sister Suzanne, still hangin’ out by that stream in the mountains?
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, THE BASTARDS AREN’T GOIN’ WITHOUT A FIGHT!!
Seems the photos posted on line are now deleted. She claimed they were taken when she was 17.
wandering off to bed, nite all. (((katymine)))
hello
seems like most folks are still waiting – excepting, of course, those folks way down south and those in hawaii.
comrad norske, i still am keeping a sharp eye on the stream and the eagles. how many shifts ya got left?
g’nite spur
hey neuro – how goes?
Is it true that Lucha Va Voom did an appearance at the White House in celebracion of Cinco de Mayo????
If so, pretty wild…and I can just imagine what the Little Miss “Family Values” California is going to say about THIS!
That’s how them Canookles work their witchcraft, alright.
;>)
Haven’t seen the photos- what’s in (or not in) this woman’s head is more interesting than the surgeon’s art work in my opinion.
Bravo Katy! Stay strong! A friend of mine out here also has had a similar diagnosis….makes me angry. He just retired!
Yup!! Doc said no Cancer in my liver and no need for a transplant!! This has been a two year ordeal..
LL, so good to see you!
Maybe taken by a Rupert Murdoch rag…was she a Sun page 3 girl?
Ohmygosh, that is fantastic news! So happy for you ((( nahant ))) !!
Rules ??? That is how it works when your B-day is at the end of the month, they start the next month and then pay you the monthy after that..
hahaha that is a great video
Pretty tame actually…back view, arms covering the exposed breasts, just a little (not more than one would see in a bikini). She’s wearing some provocative panties though.
http://dailycontributor.com/wp…..-photo.jpg
There’s a more complete shot on gossipmonger.com
Hey Margot, nice to see you too :-)
hey margot – dry or wet in ohio?
Hi Late nighter here’s what I foumd tonight:
Fed Seeks End to Wall Street Lock Over OTC Derivatives Market
By Matthew Leising
May 6 (Bloomberg) — The Federal Reserve signaled for the first time that it intends to break Wall Street’s hammerlock on so-called over-the-counter derivatives and bring more regulation to the $684 trillion market.
That is 45 years of our Gross National Product (GNP)… the insanity of the risks taken in the financial market these days. $684 Trillion in bets on what is safe to say is bad debt. Secured by real estate, corporate Bonds in the tank. With BofA needing $35 billion more bailout Bernanke and Co are lying there asses of about the state of the economy. Plant those gardens and “faire des economeis”.
hey bb – are we starting to see some spines being grown?
Blimey, look at the time; need to grab some sleep. Thank you Suz, always love your musical selections, especially the SRV tonight :-) Good for the soul. Good night everyone :-)
Dry as of this minute, but soon as I finish typing it may change…
g’nite ll – twas nice seeing ya again and it was a pleasure to be trading srv tunes back and forth with ya.
nite LL stay dry & warm..
Icky business all around.
I’m all right, Suz. How about you?
Been enjoying the pretty decent weather we’ve been having between the rainy days. More dry ones than wet ones lately.
Citizen Suzanne:
12 and a wake-up dear heart…I’m too short ta pee. But I didn’t realize how ready I am…I jest hate ta leave some a these kids behind in this tub of shit but I been tellin’ ‘em that at least they know that workin’ conditions and staff management CAN be different in a hospital because they experienced it. It’s gunna get real bad here for ‘em soon though…breaks my heart.
Katymine’s health odyssey is an incredible story of why we need universal healthcare…there are many millions who are without care…45 million. 1/3 of Americans will get cancer in their life. We need to support Katymine and all people who get ill by supporting CA Healthcare for All SB810 as soon as Arnold is gone. That will be a stronger bill than the national healthcare.
i’ve been enjoying my hunkering down time – glad to be dealing with just rain tonight.
Schwarzenegger seeks debate on marijuana legalization
Poll finds for first time, majority in Calif. support legal marijuana
What they might just let people smoke Pot legally in California??
ya did what you could with the best that you had norske. you showed them how it should be done – and you made a difference in your patients’ lives. time for a well deserved rest. ya know when it is the right decision and it sounds like ya did.
well, i’m sure they will tax it heavily – just as they do with liquor.
gonna be interesting to see eric holder’s reaction if they do it.
A really good point. And the fact that the religiosity paid for the breast implants…unbelievably stupid on every front.
that it is. as is mary mcc’s story. and nahants. and yours. all californians – each one of them show why we need universal health care. now.
if we can’t get it on a federal level, then we need to do it at each state level.
hey loohoo – how goes?
P.S. The last few weeks the inmates have been runnin’ the institution since they dumped the intire nursing management staff from the Director of Nursing thru the Unit Managers so, personal politics has been the driving dynamic and since we’re in Michelle Bachman’s district…well it’s a nightmare…like an 8th grade sorority.
And BO’s!! But other countries like Portugal have done it and they now have less crime, seems to me that would be a good thing. The Mexican Cartels would lose a lot of bucks as Pot is their main source of money. Will be an interesting experiment!!
Best news imaginable!!!
(((Love you, katymine.)))
Single Payer is the only true answer. We need to get all these middle men out of the business raking in the cash and doling out the medical care… they have screwed the American people enough all these years and have really never added anything of value to the system. We don’t need them let them become a bad memory!!
here is a link to one of those Miz California photos people have been talking about, courtesy Perez Hilton…
yup – the constitution left it up to the states to deal with social experiments (iirc). and once other states see how much money ca rakes in on taxes (i had heard up to a $50 per eight tax), other states will start looking at it differently.
money talks.
Oh, sure, cinnamonape…you had to check it out for newsworthy purposes!
Another doltish move by republican dolts…in photos no less. It burns.
You betcha Loo Hoo Still have to be watched for at lest a year but it sure beats what I thought I was going to go through(:>))
What do you mean, Norske?
nahant, ya gotta fill us in what the doc says when ya see him thursday
money talks.
Bullshit walks!! Time for the government to get out of our personal lives… I like the thought of the hundreds of thousands of people who will not be in prison because of Pot!!
Suz…10 more days!
Feingold on Amy today said there’s no way single payer will pass through this congress, hopefully the next one. Amy asked why not. He said with a half smile,” believe me, I know these people.” Damned disgusting.
Great news on your health!
sounds like loohoo and norske are retiring right about the same time. woohoo to ya both.
Citizen Loo Hoo:
“Short time” or “short timer” refers to someone who has jest a very little time left to serve…it comes from the Vietnam conflict where almost everyone was countin days tobe done with 12 months…they couldn’t send ya back for a year after servin’ 1 tour.
For sure Suz!! He did call me yesterday and made sure I understood the no Cancer and that I won’t need a transplant… whew the thought of always having to be careful around people who might have a cold or something.. including my grand kids… you know those little germ factories!!
hey emerson – how goes?
P.S. I’m goin out June 1
Norske, that’s exactly what it was like at a hospital I worked at years ago. I’m not a nurse, but was affected by low census. If they didn’t need us they sent us home.
Finally they fired the whole slew of unit directors and put younger nurses in charge of several units each, and then the census went back up…because we had a flu outbreak.
does this mean you can *gasp* drink a beer sometime in your future?
Nahant…the local Sheriff got a conviction of five years for a local in Morro Bay running a licenced MJ clinique…Obama backoff those cliniques
We had the same thing in Germany during that time, including some rather ribald count down calendars.. like this Adults only http://figmochart.alamomilitar…..vicki.html
Congratulations!!!
I’m official July 1st, but I have 200 days of sick leave, so beyond the one year of service credit I have 17 days and will go out May 20th!
was it the local sherrif in a raid with the dea? i thought that was a federal case
http://www.facebook.com/ext/sh…..38;u=WpIuU
had a great party week/end Suz. I had BBQ duties-bro-in-law had marguerita detail=sis and mom had b-days/
hey christine e
There still some asshole Reichwing police out there who just love to screw with decent people who are trying to help some very sick people who only get relief from smoking Pot!
no staff cuts!!! woohoo
How many of us really make 300K?
nahant, it’s absolutely amazing. Were you aware of the other potential diagnosis?
The link you posted the other night made some sense out of the confusion. Glad you had super docs on this.
woohoo – weather was good?
i like the salary cuts were progressive, higher percentages at higher salary rates. nicely done.
It was, it was nicely done. And, I still love being here.
rain on and off Sat-nicer Sunday in Napa. Lots of guitars.
sound wonderful, emerson
Citizen Loo Hoo:
Don’t go ta sleep or you’ll miss yer flight…LOL…good on ya kid, stay after ‘em.
Charged locally Sheriff has taken a lot of heat…it was an awfull sentence his ex is a medical MJ user… Hedges New Times on line SLO
They also got a better view of things on the new Seimens 128 bit CT scanner that is at a new facility here in Redwood city that just opened in February
sounds like that sheriff needs to be recalled bb
Loo Hoo, are you going to take up full time residence in Panama?
Maybe 7%? Good question.
Dispensaries are ‘permitted’ county/city by county/city. Several have operated in Santa Barbara for years quite legally without problems. However, there are doctors who ’specialize’ in giving cannabis ‘recommendations’ and the system is already a little bit off track, IMO. In California you can find one of the ‘recommenders’ easily and then find a list of dispensaries and become part of the co-op. Interesting system …but huge moneymaker that promotes some seedy characters. I’d just as soon turn it all over to pharmacies and get all the grifters out of the business.
He annouced he is retiring.
Looks like we’ll be heading a bit north of you in 10 days. Going to the Gorge Amphitheatre to see the Dead, Allmans and Doobies. Heard the scenery is amazing.
santa cruz county seemed like they had a good system set up. gonna be interesting to see what ah-nold comes up with.
That makes a lot of sense and quality control may come with regulation. I think recreational MJ should be taxed but medicinal should be affordable. How would it be retailed? Both at the phamacy?
*deep sigh* i’ve heard that it is forking gorgeous eye candy.
No, Sunny, that’s rented out through January with a possibility of one more year (with $100. increase!) After that, I’ll see how things pan out and go down for a couple of months here and there and rent it in between.
If all goes to hell in America at least I know I have a place to go free and clear!
pics
Some of those “Grifters” are providing some really good pot and are not seedy at all.. just saying.. I don’t trust these Corporate Pharmacies very much. They will always try and make as much profit as possible. I hope they allow you to grow your own… it is a weed ya know and grows almost any where!
Wowsers! Have a wonderful time!
I just think it should be available. Hmm, hadn’t thought about how pharmacies would handle ‘recreational’ mj. Maybe just keep it behind the counter and sell to adults. My theory: sugar is the gateway drug. All this nonsense about mj leading to crack is silly. But, hey, I don’t even use the stuff. I just think we’ve wasted time, money, and lives with a silly war-on-drugs……..and promoted all kinds of problems.
I was on a study abroad in Kassel Germany we stayed with German families…the teacher that I stayed at had huge MJ plants in her backyard…no paraoia. I am not a smoker of anything but a lot of folks are. We are throwing people’s lives away in prisons at a cost of $40k a year really stupid outcomes.
Oh, I absolutely agree that there are some well-run dispensaries. But I recently read about several in CA that were making so many millions that they were creating sham companies to launder the cash. It’s an interesting system, and I think it’s an important one, but I’d like to see it carefully monitored. Some of the dispensaries got in trouble for selling to teens, for example. I think one of the problems with the Morro Bay guy was that his security guard sold a pound of mj to an undercover out of the back door.
i wonder how amsterdam controls it. itsn’t it amsterdam where you go into coffee shops that offer more than coffee?
And, if I’m not mistaken, once you get a ‘recommendation’ for medical marijuana in California, I believe you can grow a certain number of plants. I don’t know if you have to join a co-op or can just go independent on that. Some counties issue identity cards so the cops can’t bust you; Ventura County doesn’t allow any dispensaries right now, but we do have a full time med. practice that issues ‘recommendations’ for $150 cash and a brief evaluation. In CA almost any complaint qualifies for a ‘recommendation’ (they don’t call them prescriptions.) From cancer to stress.
Thanks Loo Hoo, we’re looking forward to it. Taking the motor home, so plenty of room if you, Suz, or any of the young retirees want to get away.
Woo hoo! Go team go!
how much are the tickets?
MJ enhances some experiences…I like reading more so am a party pooper. So nice discussion…eat well live better.
Thanks for the news from Elmore about Katymine…ta
g’nite bb
Bingo!! And other “Vices” But Portugal has legalized all drugs and here Glen Greenwald
Seems to me the “War on Drugs” is just another scam by the Reichwing to make PROFIT, for some connected few.
The Marijuana Conspiracy
And when is the concert? Would we have to behave properly?
Thanks Markh(:>))
Man, I’m fading here. I’ll check in tomorrow morning.
hey markh – how ya doing?
g’nite loohoo
Don’t remember-my sis picked them up-let you know tomorrow. They’re billing it as 12 hours of music.
Nite Loo Hoo good seeing ya(:>)) Pleasant dreams!
I heard an interesting comment this evening when C-SPAN re-ran the Baucus committee roundtable on health care reform. I don’t know if I heard it exactly right or if the speaker meant what I thought he said…
There has to be a determination if a given package is insurance.
What does that mean? It’s kind of like asking if a charity is really a charity if they take 30% for admin fees. It’s kind of like asking if you wouldn’t be better off NOT investing with Bernie Madoff.
If the entire country is paying so much of GDP for health care (through insurance primarily) that it’s breaking us all, then is it truly insurance or a devious kind of terrorism?
It used to be an individual could afford health care. Maybe not great, but a family doctor or rare visit to a hospital. Then they got greedy and jacked up rates (or maybe to be generous it was inflation). Along came insurance. It purported to spread out the costs, so an individual could once again afford his care. At that point a lot more people were paying than just the ones who needed the care. The insurance and medical care people took that extra dough and stuffed it in their BMW trunk. But there’s more. Then they just kept on going. They raised rates so much that now, even with insurance (and soon for everyone), we can’t afford our individual premiums and the nation can’t afford the overall cost.
Is that insurance or insanity?
What I want to know about the reform we’ll soon see is how much reduction in overall costs we can achieve and how long it’ll stick.
As a matter of fact, we insist you don’t! May 16th.
the how much and the when :) thank you
nevermind my when (said in best emily)
Well put! And the right way to attack this mess.
nite Loo Hoo
Excellent place.
“short time” refers to that time period when you’re so short you could stand under a tea cup and never notice it raining. LOL
universal health care – not mandatory health insurance coverage.
If Republicans weren’t such hypocrites they’d jump on that wasteful spending of tax dollars right away. Bill Buckley talked about it a long time ago, but not many other Republicans could stomach that much Libertarianism.
If the insurance companies are still in the game it will only take them a few years to push us right back to the brink where we are now.
Insurance companies have to GO period! Only a system like the VA and Medical will benefit all. Especially companies that are dying because of the costs of covering their employees! I really can’t understand why Corporate American can’t see that single payer would make them a lot more competitive in the world market. But of course it is all just a way to fleece the middle class and drive them down the economic scale where they belong. We didn’t have a middle class of any size until after WWII and the growth of Unions that increased wages. It is the same old BS the rich want to be richer and they want to keep Joe average under their financial thumb!
I’m well. How are you? Been doing any diving lately?
did a few but then it got too cold to dive again. am looking forward to warmer weather.
I’m out – nite all.
g’nite sunny
At least I was pleased to hear them talk about competition during today’s round-table. Hearing them talk about variable pricing around the country is amazing too. There’s a lot in that ’system’ which can be improved.
Yes, it might be a specific service which isn’t amenable to free market pressures, but we can at least improve it. It wasn’t so long ago the very idea of seriously believing we could get to change it was a pipe-dream. We even wondered whether our ‘leaders’ were screwing up change proposals so badly that it appeared they wanted to undermine the reform. Today I think we can make some progress.
Covering everybody will get more health care to more people. That’s major.
At least we are in a situation where a lot more people see the financial side of the picture as unsustainable and unless the industry improves seriously we’ll have to come right back and fix it some more. But for now I’ll take any good changes Congress can provide. If we persist in seeking the perfection we might not get there before Rs take over Congress again. I say strike while the iron is hot…not just because we want it, but because we need it badly and the stars are right…over the lake.
Yea, time for me to go too. Nite all.
g’nite markh
Citizen Suzanne:
Right on and this issue is gunna expose the coporatist shills like Baucus and maybe Tester too…Schumer has already taken a shot but if Obama ken mobilize the people and use MoveOn and other folks …well, the Dems will fall into line…it’s not gunna be easy however.
we are gonna have to make him do it – just like we made lbj institute social reforms.
We do need it but especially those who don’t have it! Most bankruptcies are caused by medical bills! And they won’t let you keep/protect your primary home! but if you have vacation homes, like many of the rich you can protect them during bankruptcy… Makes no sense.
Medical care should be a right and not a luxury that you have to afford. It is just plain wrong that so many can’t get decent care and have to go to emergency rooms. And then we all PAY to get them treatment.
Well I am off to see the Wizard… Nite Pups!!
g’nite nahant
time for me to head out myself. g’nite pups and thanks for letting me spend some time with ya tonight.
