Ben Lee "I Love Pop Music"
New Zealand’s Ben Lee sure knows how to combine a political message with an upbeat pop sound. Although I am not a fan of pop music in general, I have to say I admire this fellows optimistic efforts.
What’s on your mind tonight?

ZED! ES!!
Evening nahant
Evening ES… hows the weather in your neck of the woods??
Eureka!
I love that scarf!
Would be a great one for a key note speaker..)
Dark and wet… cool, but not cold. It’s a jungle out here. I’m loving every minute of it.
Have a new blues song I’m working on – Soggy Iris Blues
‘lo
My dad passed away this morning. Dropping by to let everyone know. I’m feeling way off, and there’s a lot of anger regarding how badly the situation that caused his death was. For now its just doing the best to keep moving.
Bless your heart, alias… Be good to yourself.
Deepest sympathy, alias…and hugs.
It was warm and very humid here today… felt like being back East when the sweat stays on your skin, or when you get out of the shower and you need another shower already.. But great weather for the garden… first tomato is on the vine!!!
oh, alias!
peace to you and yours, dear
Aloha ya’ll from the Mtn top…! Evening, ES! 8-)
My deepest sympathy alias, losing a parent is a very sobering event.
I’m so sorry to hear that alias…! :-(
Wow… folks just planted outdoors about ten days ago here.
Hey, CT… aloha snowman..)
Thank you.
I’m still in shock, and surprised at coherent i am right now. I think its my sheer stubborn will that’s keeping me going.
Still large patches of snow up here too…! It’s May already… Go figure…!
Hey CT how goes it my friend?
CT, I’ve been following this musician named Imogen Heap on twitter for a day or so. She’s on vacation in maui and today about an hour before she was about to depart… she walks over to the waterfall she can see from her house… and discovers a dead body! She twittered the whole ordeal..It was weird…Helicopters came and everything.
Wow, I’ll keep an eye peeled for it in the paper or the local newscasts…!
When my son died unexpectedly, it was that shock that carried me through. I’ll be processing for the rest of my life, and, well, hey, that’s life. I’m still processing my mother’s death a decade and a half later. Life has joy and suffering. Ride on.
oh no no. I’m so sorry. ((Alias))
Doing alright, Mi amigo! Waiting for my lot to clear escrow to start building my house…!
I am so sorry for the loss of your dad, alias. We are all in line for the loss of our parents, we 50-somethings. Most heartfelt wishes.
Oh forgot to mention that tomato is on a plant I planted last year… But all the other plants are all flowering and growing several inches a day… Can’t wait to start eating the ripe ones!!
Tell them Banksters that Nahant said to get off the stick and get it done…. they are holding a good man back from building his castle for his queen!!
i’m only 31. He was fine less than 48 hours ago. Had every intention of fighting on, but he couldn’t fight septic shock. Willpower really has no bent on a process as ruthless as that one. That’s what makes this so crazy, and so sudden.
alias, I’m so sorry.
How fortunate… living thru winter.
How true Chris.. both mine have been gone for over 20 years and I still miss them dearly, it sure make you grow up knowing you can never ask them all those questions you need/want to ask..
Doubly sorry. My sister-in-law died of septic shock in her 30’s after a bout of flu. Shocking and sudden and seemed so pointless and sad. My best wishes in your process.
This is the second time that has happened & the tomatoes are just as good as the first years ones. Go figure??
Wow, that fast… my sincerest condolences, alias!
Hey Alias, please remember to breathe, and get lots of rest, even though you think you can’t sleep.
(((((alias)))))
very fast. that’s why its such a shock. he’d been having dehydration issues since the chemo was making him go through vomiting and diarrhea. We think his body shut down because the ER doctor didn’t bother to attend to the blood cell count from that dehydration. The oncolgist in charge of treating dad is very much pissed off at that particular culprit.
I’ll try.
Thank you everyone. I’m doing what i can do and for now my support group is mainly on here when the family isn’t here. My younger brother is here with mom and i, which helps. Its hard to put into words.
Times like this is when you need family the most! Glad yours is with you alias, you all need each other, lots of hugging helps.
This will not be a popular response, but I’m going to make it anyway. When you get past the first waves of grief, talk to an attorney. And, yes, I am a lawyer and I get distressed with all the tort reform crap. People get hurt and die from bad care, and bad care needs to be brought to the attention of someone who can correct it. I say this because my son didn’t need to die — he got really inadequate care and I was too swamped by grief to scream that out. Those inadequate doctors are probably still injuring and even killing other patients. And, in due time I realized that my son’s death might have been a reason to help others avoid such rotten care — and might also have helped my grandchildren with future schooling. Okay, rant done. And pay good care to each other — but re-think before the 6 month statute of limitations is up.
hey everyone
Aloha, neuro!
alias, if you are still here, my deepest sympathy
Good evening, neuro..)
Good advice. Glad I have not faced something like that. But part of growing older is the sobering fact that you will lose loved ones and friends! About six or seven years ago I lost ten friends and relatives, it was truly a sobering year that I will never forget. As I child our family always made sure we went to Wakes and Funerals to prepare us for the inevitable fact of losing people you know. Still isn’t easy but I have the experience to get through it. Always remember the joy and fun you had with the ones you have lost. Those memories are invaluable!
Aloha, CT.
We’re having some decent weather here lately, in between the cloudbursts. Today was mild and sunny, worked out in the yard.
I got lost in blip today. It was a blast.
link no work for me
Hey Neuro how are you doing?? No problems with all the rain in your area in hope?
me neither!!! Come Es you can do better than that….. /s
blip?
re blip. Sorry my hands move way to fast for my net connection speed.
Looks pretty cool, ES!
it’s connected with twitter… all your connections (friends) have access to the same ‘jukebox’..and can share very quickly. Anyway it’s a lot of fun if you are a music nut like me… or just in the mood for music.
I live about 6 blocks slightly uphill from a sizable urban creek that runs into the Kansas River. Two years ago at this time, it left its banks and came up to the edge of our front yard, where it was when we woke up in the morning. I was sure our house would be flooded, and had a horrible sick feeling I never want to have again. But we put down a marker and after a while saw that the water was receding, not rising. So we were not hurt, but many neighbors closer to the creek were. The next day I called my insurance agent and signed up for flood insurance. A bargain, for the peace of mind.
It hasn’t been that bad year. We are keeping our fingers crossed. We have had some heavy rain, but the drainage system seems to be doing its job. Creek has not left its banks or even gotten really close to doing so.
will have to check it out tomorrow but it looks like fun.
You Tube hasn’t been working for me for a couple of weeks… So I’ve been forced to look at other net options for music… which has been an inspiring exploration.
Well… Time to freeze for a hour… Brrr…! ;-)
Good news Neuro, glad to hear it!!
You ARE a MAC person right ES??
:-P
Take care, CT… Good to hear from you.
Well you
ARE helping him???
I am.
Phew… glad to see you on duty… connection or application issue?
OoPPS that was for Newt!!
Could be a needed upgrade.. but the file size is around 650 mb… my connection speed would never allow that in one session.
send for the cd, I know Microsoft would send you one for a small fee, but of course you have a MAC and I don’t know Apples policies..
i’m too lazy and shiftless to help
nahant, I wanted to ask you…
I’ve been wary of installing IE 8. I don’t use IE unless I absolutely have to. It’s an automatic update, so I’ve turned off automatic updates. Will it hurt to get it or should I just forget about it?
LOL ya sure I got a bridge for sale interested???
Not! Newt is the Mac angel with a halo… don’t let him kid you there…)
I have it on several PCs and it seems fine. It also has some new features but I am not real familiar with them YET… Will let you know as I get more experience with it… I just installed it today on my main server so I will be getting familiar with it quickly…
I know but he seems to want to buy the Brooklyn bridge from me… /s
i just find it odd that Mac didn’t offer that large of an upgrade in one large or several smaller parcels for folks like me. I have what I call mid speed connection with my cell phone.
By the way Newt it was very nice of you to bring lunch on THAT day last week! We both very much appreciate it.. Guess I will be having to make you a batch of chili soon or maybe another dish that I can whip up for ya… That is when you are ready to eat real food again!!
Ouch!! What kind of speeds do you get ES?
http://www.abeltronica.com/vel…..newlang=uk You can try that link to check! It is for free!
Sarah’s getting a gun
Shit we are all in trouble.. bad enough she has a bolt action but this is crazy for such a crazy to have one like that..
Hmmm it’s saying my download speed is infinity. LOL
Going to try speakeasy
download 225
upload 53
Sometimes it’s higher.. sometimes lower.
well….
no wonder you have problems… not a lot better than dialup..
Not really… she knows how to handle a gun.. that’s what’s important, imo.
The media attention is what’s absurd…considering everything else in need of attention.
Thanks Nahant;)
I got a computer question. Can’t get an answer from google, probably not phrasing it right.
Can I attach a standard extension cord to my laptop’s adapter cord or does the adapter cord itself need to be plugged into the wall socket? Anybody happen to know?
when the only other thing you’ve known is dial up…it’s a life changer. But yes.. it’s why I howl about every American home needing true fiber to their door. I’ve never even used a true high speed connection.
I do it all the time in Summer when I am out on the deck with my laptop.
So long as the extension cord is of a larger gauge than the laptop cord or at least the same and not too long. The longer the extension cord the more voltage loss. But in general you should be OK so long as the cord in not thinner..
Fiber would be great then it would depend on the back bone you are on.
Well the pumpkin has come and gone with out me!!
Nite Pups!!
As long as both arms are not required. /s
nite nahant
hey margot
Nite nahant….. I’m fading fast too…..
Thanks es and nahant. The adapter cord is pretty hefty, which is why I wondered. Time to get a decent extension cord.
Think I’ll turn in…
good night all.
nite es
scrammin too

So, if I understand correctly, at Nuremberg “peremptory norms” overrode whatever good-faith legal assurances the defendants had that their behavior would be legal. A very interesting and compelling principle of law.
Sure would be nice if Shrub, Darth, Rummy, Yoo, etal… Would suddenly get bitten by the travel bug, eh…? ;-)
nite all….
Aloha, Sunny!
Attaturk is upstairs!
Good plan
Alias, i am so sorry about your Dad. A very dear friend of mine lost his Mom last nite. He is far away from me but I want to just hug him and tell him and you that someday it will feel okay. Just not right now. Great big hug. (I have tomatos now, too)In Texas, in June, it will be too hot to have them.
