still alive! and you?
Hey Suz!
alive is a good thing – been enjoying the day and fixed some great corned beef for dinner. token thoroughly enjoyed pre-washing my plate for me.
hey newton – how’s the bay area tonight?
Nice. Shorts weather.
Your place?
hola!
Speaking of cartoons:
British boxer Ricky Hatton has been knocked out in the second round of his Las Vegas fight against Manny Pacquiao.
How many people paid $50 to watch the PPV only to see the thing end in two rounds? I’d be (as they say in the vernacular) all pissed off…
Suze! & Pups! Was at my bro’s earlier tonight, watching Pinky and the Brain with my niece and nephews, the one where they have to obtain a red dragon toenail clipping. I’m still snorting.
hey ofg – nice having ya here at late late nite again
fighting a vain battle with the cat, who HAS to lie on the keyboard. does not process ‘no’. (two days ago she pulled the top of the ‘d’ key, so my typing is even worse than usual.)
Hiya Pups! Amazon number for Dissection still great…
hey shotojamf, angry boxing fans are not sports fans i would wanna provoke
hey ndfg – sounds like a good time was had by all :)
hey christine e – woohoo!
Thanks Suz,
Mr.CE still thrilled…
Really cute toon, Suz.
been windy all afternoon with rain bands blowing in sideways – had a gust of 41 earlier but the winds have calmed down now. warmer tho – in the mid 50’s all afternoon and still 51 outside.
hi all….
drive by for me. was up at 4:30 this morning. helped a friend of mine who’s moving to houston get out of his old place. the mammoth budget truck and his car attached behind are out front and him and his 6 year old daughter are asleep in the guest room. i’ll hang a little bit.
anyone hear from katymine?
thanks loohoo – glad ya liked it. was amazed to find out the voice of prissy went on to become the original voice of betty rubble and cousin pearl bodine.
This is one of those toons where I am on the verge of remembering having seen it… you know, a million years ago.
what does this mean?
Right?? Shorts weather if ya come from Nome!!
hey gw – haven’t heard anything since elmore’s comment. (((katymine)))
I heard Manny on NPR this morning. Guys a singer too. Interview with him, his trainer and manager. Manager worked with de La Jolla and Mohammed Ali. Said Manuel is better than both. (Mom went to Las Vegas too!)
Guy’s thinking about going into politics too.
North-Eastern sissy!
What, CE?
i was going to ask about nahant too, but i just knew he’d comment immediately.
Evening suz, pups.
Good news on the book CE.
hey sunny
Nah after thirty years here my blood thinned out a wee bit ya know!!
Top ranking for books at Amazon
Katymine hugs is right.
Has anyone seen eCAHN lately?
Mr.CE’s book
iirc, she was on a late afternoon early evening thread earlier this week loohoo
I hear you.
i just went to amazon and typed in Dissection and found my way to mr ce’s book. congratulations all around.
ce – did sales pick up during and after the conference?
okay me luvlies, it’s off to bed for me. see you manana.
eCAHN was planting trees last I saw of her. Maybe today.
Yes, and after NPR tonight!
I heard that piece, as well. Interesting. I figured Pacquiao would probably win, but I didn’t expect it to end that quickly. I’ll be curious to watch the thing on HBO next week.
Brat’s ashes came home today. Lots of crying.
We still miss him terribly.
(((thatguy))) losing a beloved pet is so hard
g’nite gw
I remember that day, when the ashes arrived.
Sorry, dude.
ohmystars – npr? and to think, we knew ya back in the day. mr ce worked long and hard on that book and its glad to see it getting the recognition it deserves. bravo
Isn’t that about the coolest! Congratulations to Mr. CE.
Love the cartoon, Suz, thanks!
((Katymine))
Sleep tight, gw.
hey margot – thanks. had a hard time coming up with a good one for tonight.
Good. I tend to worry…
Remember the fun Brat gave you & Family.. It does help some, but time is the best healer and with it’s passage fond memories will remain and persist. We still miss my last dog Champ he was with us for 17 years and we keep his ashes & picture in a special place with our family pictures in our family room.
hey nahant
What a beautiful gato, ThatGuy. LOVE his tail. Garfieldish.
Hi Suz!! How are you Token & Bailey doing??
Is baby girl still with you?
NYT review was wonderful. We are overwhelmed.
She’s at pull up a chair.
What did Elmore say?
Linky, CE?
the message last week about katy not being able to participate but that she was enjoying the lurking.
token and bailey were jumpy all afternoon with the wind making the house creak and the rain blowing sideways against the windows. they both calmed down considerably once the wind did likewise.
lurking off to bed. g’nite suz, newt, nahant, everybody. (((katymine)))

Later that night got to meet TRex.

Sleep well.
Wondered what happened to him. I guess people just take time off.
Did any of you hear about the law professor from Fordham who had his students dig up PI on Antonin Scalia?
The tables were turned and apparently Scalia was pissed. I thought it was pretty fuckin funny. Maybe he’ll re-think his position on privacy.
Night Newt.
wasn’t that a hoot – watertiger had the readers digest version of it at her place
gosh – was there a party earlier that got everyone all tuckered out?
what are we gonna tell your mama
some country joe
Tucker? eeek!
hey blub
now it’s time to say good nite
g’nite pups – thanks for letting me spend time with you tonight
Good morning, pups. It’s Dowd, Kristof and Rich today. Ms. Dowd reminds us this morning of the writer she used to be, before she started writing feverish fiction. In “How Character Corrodes” she says the Republicans’ newfound concern about checks and balances is touching, given what the Bush administration did to undermine the process. Mr. Kristof, in “A Nation of Typhoid Marys,” says the flu crisis should be a wake-up call, a reminder that one of the nation’s vulnerabilities to the possible pandemic is our deeply flawed medical system. Mr. Rich has heard enough. In “Enough With the 100 Days Already” he says President Obama’s high marks by the public and the press are all ludicrously provisional. It’s too early to judge the results of any policy.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got chocolate croissants that we picked up while doing our errands yesterday. The first pea pods are on the plants, so can peas be far behind? Have a great day.
