Franken-Coleman Update: Waiting for Another Ruling |
| By: Phoenix Woman Friday April 10, 2009 9:01 am |
The three judges that make up the Election Contest Court sure move a lot slower than do the ones on the state Supreme Court. The votes were counted three days ago, the counting is finished, and you’d think that it wouldn’t be that tough to simply say “Okay, Franken won, Norm can appeal, the ten-day clock for Norm to announce what we all know he’s going to do starts ticking NOW” and then bang the gavel.

Paulson had the information showing that the problem in the housing markets arose from fraudulent mortgage lending. Why did he and treasury blame borrowers? Will Geithner do better?
Poll: More People Blame Geithner for AIG Bonuses Than Bush |
| By: Jane Hamsher Friday April 10, 2009 7:00 am |
Interesting finding in the new Democracy Corps polling:
[N]early three-in-ten voters (29 percent) say that the AIG story raises no doubts at all in their mind about President Obama.
The same cannot be said for Geithner, as nearly half of voters (49 percent) report that the AIG scandal raises significant doubts, including nearly a quarter (24 percent) who say it raises extreme doubts about the Treasury Secretary.

- How does this end?
- Bowers has some thoughts on Afghanistan.
- No more gulags, sez Leon.
- Housing recovery projections.
- Light at the end of the tunnel?
- Good news.
- Obama’s not as deserving as Jerry Colangelo?
- The Republicans in my state are truly peerless.
- Because astroturf isn’t just for breakfast anymore.

Shorter Krauthammer, there’s always time to start bombing somebody…preferably a Shiite.

As the right gears up for their great big festival of public Tea-Bagging, they’re getting extra-special frisky with their oddness and caperings. Gay marriage leads to floods and mass murder! Obama will take your guns and give them to Frenchmen!
Peaceable Assembly; Petitioning to Redress Grievances |
| By: earlofhuntingdon Thursday April 9, 2009 7:15 pm |
“Rights worth having are unruly things.”
The forthcoming peaceful assemblies planned for Sunday in Washington, Detroit and elsewhere provide a good opportunity to refresh public awareness of certain rights our government seems to have forgotten. Last year’s GOP convention in Minneapolis is a case in point.
The first ten amendments to the Constitution are called the Bill of Rights and they became law in 1791.
