Fox News Sponsors Anti-Tax Tea Party E-mail Collection Drive

By: Christy Hardin Smith Tuesday April 14, 2009 3:55 pm

Yeppers. Totally grassroots. No opportunistic e-mail collection and marketing drive here. No siree.

Why, Glenn Reynolds totally independent op-ed in the Rupert Murdoch-owned NYPost smells more and more gen-u-ine every day:Instead of the “astroturf” that has marked the ACORN-organized AIG protests, this movement is real grassroots. So if you’ve had enough, consider visiting a Tea Party protest in your area — there’s bound to be one.

Nope, no

To Wingnuts, Rush Limbaugh is More Important Than Life Itself

By: Lisa Derrick Tuesday April 14, 2009 2:30 pm

American conservatives have shifted their focus away from preserving the lives of unborn fetuses to saving Rush Limbaugh from the Fairness Doctrine, which they believe will be re-instituted in order to destroy their hours of slavering, frothing radio fun.

Michael Steele Encourages Virtual Teabagging

By: Jane Hamsher Tuesday April 14, 2009 1:30 pm

Obviously cognizant that actual teabags set off security alarms and caused government offices to be closed down, Michael Steele sent an email to the RNC list today inviting Republicans to send “virtual teabags” to Pelosi, Reid, Obama and Biden.

The DNC responds:”Didn’t Michael Steele get rejected from a ‘tea party?’ Maybe he should send an invite to himself,” said DNC National Press Secretary Hari Sevugan.

Wannabe Teabagger-in-Chief Newt Gingrich in Hot Water over $4 Million in Private Flights

By: Jane Hamsher Tuesday April 14, 2009 12:10 pm

When Newt Gingrich went on Hannity & Colmes in 2008 to spread the false story that Nancy Pelosi’s use of a private jet was unprecedented and that Dennis Hastert “did not get a private plane. He said “you do not need to have a personal jet to run around.” He didn’t mention the fact that his organization, American Solutions For Winning the Future, has paid over $4 million in

Right-Wing Bloggers Angry at Department of Homeland Security for Monitoring Right-Wing Terrorists

By: Blue Texan Tuesday April 14, 2009 10:30 am

Memo to wingnuts: if you don’t want to look like a bunch of crazy right-wing extremists, it’s probably best not to criticize the federal government for keeping an eye on crazy right-wing extremists.

Obama’s Tortured Logic on Bagram

By: Christy Hardin Smith Tuesday April 14, 2009 9:31 am

During his European trip, President Obama had this to say to the Turks: He implored the Turks to embrace “an enduring commitment to the rule of law” as the “only way to achieve the security that comes from justice for all people.” But it’s been do as we say, not as we do for far too long, hasn’t it?

By: Jim White Tuesday April 14, 2009 8:45 am

With the tea parties scheduled for tomorrow, one would expect that sentiment on income taxes should be running at an all-time low. Surprise, since we’re talking here about events organized by Freedom’s Watch and pimped by Fox News, just the opposite is true.

Franken-Coleman Update: Dismissed with Prejudice

By: Phoenix Woman Tuesday April 14, 2009 8:00 am

I was wondering what was taking the Election Contest Court so long to issue their ruling in the wake of the final vote count last Tuesday. Now I know why. They were crafting a 24-karat platinum boot to be sent upside the head of Norm Coleman.

Million Man March Flub: Fox Fumbles the Recovery

By: Jane Hamsher Tuesday April 14, 2009 7:00 am

Fox says the error was made during Cavuto while taping. Watch the clip they play — it’s from the original protest in 1995. Those things are assembled prior to the taping, they don’t just magically appear while the anchor is talking.

Nice try, though.
