Yes, the Teabaggers Did Achieve Their Objectives

By: Jane Hamsher Friday April 17, 2009 9:56 am

Markos writes on what the right wing teabaggers achieved with their demonstrations Wednesday, as opposed to what liberal bloggers have done over the past three years:

It wasn’t the protest movement that moved the Democratic Party left on Iraq, it was Joe Lieberman’s loss in his Democratic primary in 2006. Prior to that, Rahm Emanuel, as head of the DCCC, was telling Democratic candidates to steer clear of the war.

Why Obama Took Prosescution of CIA Officers off the Table — A Theory

By: looseheadprop Friday April 17, 2009 8:50 am

Indulge me if you will in some rank speculation about why Obama has put prosecution of line case agents at CIA off the table.

OLC Redaction Fail: Where is Hassan Ghul?

By: Spencer Ackerman Friday April 17, 2009 8:15 am

Dafna Linzer at ProPublica has a fantastic find from her close reading of the CIA memos. What appears to be an inadvertent lack of redaction hints that CIA held a detainee called Hassan Ghul in one of its black-site secret prisons. He wasn’t sent to Guantanamo Bay along with the 14 other black-site detainees in 2006.

Gateway Pundit:Gutter Journalism: Angry Mainstream Media Reporters Use Nasty Sexual Slang to Describe Tea Party Protesters (Video)

A new low for the mainstream media…
Liberal reporters used gutter sexual slang to describe the Tea Party protesters.

Since they are now using nasty sexual references to describe those who dare challenge their Leftist ideology…
Can we all now agree that the liberal media hates anything conservative?

Financial Oversight: Bill Black Responds to Pelosi’s Call for Pecora Commission

By: Jane Hamsher Friday April 17, 2009 7:00 am

Bill Black has been calling for a Pecora-style commission for a long time. I asked him if he had a comment on Nancy Pelosi’s call such a commission to investigate the crisis in the financial community:

OLC Memos: Who We Have Become

By: Christy Hardin Smith Friday April 17, 2009 6:03 am

You tell me. Which language is from Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn’s seminal work The Gulag Archipelago: 1918-1956 and which is from US Department of Justice OLC memoranda issued in the last few years.

LATE NIGHT: Hey, Tea-Baggers — You’re Not the Majority; Hell, You’re Not Even Normal

By: Thers Thursday April 16, 2009 8:03 pm

I’ve been struck by the signs at the Tea-Bag Fests saying “The Silent Majority Is Silent No More,” and similar. The problem: since when have they ever shut their yaps, and since when are they the freaking majority?
