Went for a transplant… got canceled just as I was getting undressed. The Doc brought me to my Liver Doc and now they don’t think I have Cancer thus no need to get the transplant!!!! Now I am the star of tomorrows radiology meeting… Not sure where this is going they may want to now do a biopsy where I had chemoemblazion done to see if there may be dead cancer cells… what a frigging day…

One thing that is different is I had my last CT scan on a brand new high resolution machine and they were able to get a better view of things… I guess????

Could be these days, I haven’t lived ther for 30 years now.. But I sure can find out as I keep in touch with the family back there. I come from a Very large family 70+ and when growing up they all lived in Nahant. If you haven’t been there DO visit as it is a very nice place especially in the summers. I do know there are some great restaurants like the Tides who have great seafood and Pizza..

It’s OK. I had a contract position for almost 10 months, and my last day was April 10th. Before that I’d been unemployed for over 2 years. So…it’s not optimal, but I think it’s going to be better this time. Which reminds me, I need to email my most recent friends/co-workers. The group couldn’t make my position permanent because of a re-org that required it to absorb 3 folks already on the permanent headcount. That’s very, very different from getting escorted to the door at lunchtime on a Friday! And the company did right by their already permanent staff.

Hey, at least there was no question that my gov and state leg would do anything but gratefully accept all stimulus money. The state leg is even kicking in a nominal increase in weekly UI benefit. The “system” won’t be up and running until mid-May, but all benefits will be paid out retroactively. Every little bit helps!

And, hey, congrats on your still almost new job. I think they’re lucky to have you!

Well pups is HAS beena very loonngg day for me and I am going to try and get soem sleep, unlike last night when I was awoken at 2:30 am to the “there is a Liver available… no drinking no eating and be ready to come to Stanford at a moments notice… Sleep ya gotta be kidding, when I did doze I was somewhere on a hospital bed floating around the hospital every where but never did I get to surgery, needless to say it sure wasn’t a rejuvenating sleep.. We transfer power from one power company to another’s section of the power grid using the Net to communicate how much power is needed.
I see no reason why the computers that run the power plants should not be a closed system of computers like on Battlestar Galactica and be cut off from the Net.
People used to run non Nuclear power plants and trade power over powerlines without the Net in the old days but that means hiring people to do the job.

Halliburton made many billions from the no bid contracts that Cheney sent their way. They are still getting no bid contracts from this administration.

We don’t know how much they made, and are making in Iraq, because the Pentagon says it is nobody’s business. The Pentagon says because Halliburton is a private company their business records are private. It matters not that the taxpayers pay the bills.
