morning, pups. Was going to comment on the previous thread when I saw this one popped us, so brought it over here:

Chris Matthews Hardball seems to be pushing the point that torture’s okay if you can show some result.

Does he ever actually watch his own show and see how he comes across? A bullying repetetive overtalker who disses his “lefty” guests while “yeah, uh-huh”ing his “righty” guests.

Yes, I know he’s probably got a producer yammering in his ear and he’s thinking about his next question. But fergoshsakes, give us something other than warmed-over Crossfire.

More and more turning of the channel in the Sunshine Household these days.

Friend sent me this Ronald Reagan quote yesterday:

“The United States participated actively and effectively in the negotiation of the Convention. It marks a significant step in the development during this century of international measures against torture and other inhuman treatment or punishment. Ratification of the Convention by the United States will clearly express United States opposition to torture, an abhorrent practice unfortunately still prevalent in the world today.

“The core provisions of the Convention establish a regime for international cooperation in the criminal prosecution of torturers relying on so-called ‘universal jurisdiction.’ Each State Party is required either to prosecute torturers who are found in its territory or to extradite them to other countries for prosecution.”

Another reason to eat locavore.

Worth cutting portions in our supersize foodstream to pay a little more [or maybe not!] for quality locally produced organic food.

Yet it’s Obama’s extending of a hand to leaders who’ve often showered contempt on Washington that’s been the signature of his foreign policy so far.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney, radio commentator Rush Limbaugh and other conservatives have lambasted such gestures as the handshake with Chavez.

I believe that Obama has twisted himself into a pretzel (PTSD for GWB) to extend a hand to the secessionist Nation of Republics. And without hand sanitizer (though I cannot confirm lack of brain bleach).

Rove and Rumsfeld didn’t want the government stockpiling Tamiflu again in preparation for a pandemic until the prior stockpiling (from the Rumsfeld-created Anthrax Scare) was past its expiration date.

Do you have any idea how rich Rumsfeld has gotten from Tamiflu sales?

See, if the insiders know the timing of the planned pandemic scare, they can accumulate stock in the manufacturer of Tamiflu all the way down during the planned stock market crash, only to get rich as shit when the globally media-hyped scare strikes.

They didn’t want the stock price to go up when the Democrats wanted to prepare, they wanted it to go up AFTER Cheney and Rumsfeld launched the pandemic distraction.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oseltamivir

It’s all just laboratory and media created hype to control the public.

Who gets rich on pandemic scare?

In November, 2005, U.S. president George W. Bush requested that Congress fund $7.1 billion in emergency spending for flu pandemic preparedness (the Senate had already passed an $8.1 billion bill). Bush’s plan included $1.4 billion for government purchases of antiviral drugs.

Some commentators question the motives of the U.S. government’s endorsement and planned purchase of oseltamivir, noting Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld’s close ties to Gilead Sciences, rightsholder to the oseltamivir patent. Rumsfeld is a former chairman of Gilead, and federal disclosure forms indicate that he owns between USD$5 million and USD$25 million in Gilead stock (Schwartz 2005). The rise in Gilead’s share prices from USD$35 to USD$57 per share will have added between USD$2.5 million to USD$15.5 million to Rumsfeld’s net worth.

I gave up on “coincidence theory” long ago. Anyone who believes that the timing of this pandemic scare, coinciding as it does with the demand for investigation of the roles of Cheney/Rumsfeld and others in TortureGate, is pure coincidence, already has the government they deserve.

It’s time for the true patriots to step out from the shadows to reveal the truth about the REAL terrorist, and the blackmail our officials are being subjected to daily.

There is a shadow government. Their tactics have been revealed, as have their leaders.

They happen to control the media.

I wouldn’t consider oligarchs who finance the careers of politicians in order to further their financial interests a shadow government. That they follow in the footsteps of the robber barons of the Gilded Age doesn’t make them very mysterious in my book. There’s nothing shadowy about a corporate state. It’s all there for anyone willing to look and delving deep isn’t a requirement.

The Globalist Banksters figured out how to take Congress completely out of the oversight function of the US Government.

Congress was said to have “The Power Of The Purse.” Rumsfeld and Zakheim depleted the Pentagon’s budget of $2.3 TRILLION – with Rummy announcing it less than 24 hours before the 9/11 attacks. This meant that Congress would have no choice but to dump in a massive amount of money to fight the BOGUS WAR ON TERROR, which Rumsfeld himself created along with his Zionist Co-Conspirators.

Well prior to that time – prior to the Iran Contra Scandal, The INTELLIGENCE Complex figured out that that could completely circumvent Congress and accomplish any goal they chose by trafficking in cocaine and heroine – and using the profits to fund their operations.

A Shadow Government was created with these funds – with its own objectives – in concert with Israel and the Crown.

Congress is essentially powerless as long as the funding for the Shadow Government’s Operations comes from drug sale headed by one GHW Bush.

CNN — SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT
November 17, 1991

In the United States of America there is a hidden government about which YOU KNOW NOTHING.

Tom Golden, Chief of Counter Intelligence Strategic Defense Command: “It is highly classified and the largest program of it’s kind that I had ever become involved in”

In the United States Federal Government there is a super-secret agency which controls this Shadow Government.
http://www.sweetliberty.org/is…..omsday.htm

“There exists a shadowy government with its own Air Force, its own Navy, its own fundraising mechanism, and the ability to pursue its own ideas of national interest, free from all checks and balances, and free from the law itself.”

— Senator Daniel K. Inouye at the Iran Contra Hearings

http://www.sweetliberty.org/shadow.htm
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/pages/secgov.html
http://villagevoice.com/news/0…..tml#cheney

This is being implemented by executive decisions; intrusive, unconstitutional laws being passed at the state and local levels of government; and a shadow government (the Doomsday Plan – Continuity of Government) of non-elected people that we’re told was implemented by the president on the day of infamy. . . 9-11-01.

In fact, it is NOT a plan for the Continuity of Government. It is a plan for the Continuity of the Executive Office — one branch of government.

http://www.sweetliberty.org/is…..aseiii.htm

How ironic it is that their greatest fear is the legalization of drugs. The DEA is actually just a protection racket to ensure that the Bush/CIA Crime Family remains the number one drug trafficker on earth. Ask talking head / operative General Barry McCaffrey all about it.
