hey nahant
{{{KatyMine}}}
Hope you are healing quickly!!
*hand on monitor sending katymine warm positive healing thoughts*
Hey Suz!! sharks pulled it out’a the fire and won!! Dam it didn’t look god there for a bit… went into OT..
yay sharks!
today was sprinkles on and off all day with gray overcast skies – the perfect day to stay inside with the critters with a fire chasing away the damp.
We had to restart our fire also Suz… Was nice and clear but the wind came up with a vengeance chilling things down. Drove us from the yard!
the wind here has had a nasty cold bite to it. weather dood said starting tomorrow we should be drying out and warming up to the 70’s by friday.
((((katymine))))
hey sunny
88 here today, more of the same tomorrow.
Hey Suz. Really wishin I could watch this toon…
*sigh*
G’evening, Suze & Pups!
What’s on my mind? 1) Still kinda choked up about Persiflage. 2) sending Katymine healing energy 3) updating FDL a LOT even if i don’t have time to read, just so i can see how the Marcy fund is doing.
Speaking of which. I committed to $16 a month – an excellent price for a news subscription! (And it’s a nice rounding up of $183 a year.) Any one able to match me tonight?
sunny, when i was on dialup, i would open another tab to watch the video in (click on baby puss in the post) and let it silently run (to avoid that stop/start/stop) – after an hour or so, i could watch the video.
hey ndfg
i’m planning on donating another $183 when the first rolls around.
I just found out that I can collect widows benefits at age 60. I thought I had to wait for social security benefits until I was 62. I will be 60 in November. This is going to help us a ton. What a relief.
Hugs to Katymine and all who need extra hugs, you don’t need no appointment.;)
excellent news mary mcc
hey margot
Hey Suz!
(((katymine)))
Good plan. Beats whining :-)
hey newton
i was told about that trick when i was on dialup (sure wish i could remember the who)
Hey Suz, hi all.
good evening, Suzanne and all
frank rich hits another home run in his latest
hey neuro – how’s kansas tonight?
mary, that is such good news!
Suze, i like your plan. My car is rapidly reaching the point of no resuscitation, after i buy something else this week i’ll see if i can toss some more into the kitty.
Just a drive by, but hello everyone. I wanted to mention that in the cartoon above, that Harry Warren, one of the best composers that most people have never heard of, wrote the song “You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby,” which was used part-way through. I’m just wild about Harry (which he didn’t write.)
Also, I just got through reading the novel Ragtime in preparation for auditioning for the musical by the same name, and although it was written a while ago, it still resonates for today. You might want to check it out. I’m working my way through the music for the show as part of the prep, and there is a great lyric in “Make Them Hear You” that keeps floating through my mind. In the show, Coalhouse Walker, Jr. sings it, and the line is, “Will justice be demanded by 10 million righteous men? Make them hear you, make them hear you.” Brian Stokes Mitchell sang it in the Broadway cast, and it will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. It’s on you tube. Can’t get it out of my mind. I tried to add links but it wasn’t working for me, and I have pizza and Cesar salad waiting, so I’m off! Good night all.
hey votus – this the utube you are talking about? g’nite
fiingers and toes crossed your car holds out a while longer ndfg
hey, I’m not really sure. crossed over the border to MO today to check out an art exhibit and some live jazz. I do know I missed some tornado warnings in KS tonight, however.
Geebuz, did someone pass? *SHOCKED*
yikes – glad ya missed that neuro. i guess the tornado season has started.
This is the tune, but not the Broadway cast. Still a good tune, though.
hey larue – eye doing better?
Suz, every time I read that hook: “What’s On Your Mind Tonight?” I think of:
“I got troubles, whoa, whoa.
I got worries, whoa whoa.
I got wounds, to bind.”
But I went a youtubing, and alas, they forkin took down Wee Five, and one great, great song.
Bastids.
Glad yer still rockin, hossette! *G*
i was looking but could not find the broadway cast version. an excellent song indeed
the sirens went off at my house, I just wasn’t here to hear them. don’t think one was spotted, however. also, on the way home, drove a few miles south of where another warning was posted. warning means funnel sighted visually or on radar, watch means conditions favorable.
upon editorial review, not sure that made sense. if nothing was spotted near my place, it should have been a watch, not a warning. I think sirens only go off for warnings. I guess I’ll find out tomorrow what they saw that set the alarms off.
No! Not Ron. My first husband. In 1989.
forkers – that’s a great song dood
i decided to dump it while it still actually runs, instead of having to pay to have it towed somewhere. The power steering, trannie, and oil have started leaking, seals are going, blah blah. It’s a ‘99 with over 150,000 on it, so i’m not broken hearted. And i’ve got a good deal on an ‘07 with only 12,000 miles on it. And my credit union is giving me a nice loan deal. So, i’m gonna keep my fingers crossed that business stays good where i work and get it.
fingers and toes crossed for the new used one for ya ndfg
Doubled up, hard to type . . . hurts to read . . .
It’s killin me . . . ;-)
You and NDFG, and Texas Betsy . . . always killin me, too . . . in all the best ways. *G*
Gotta laugh, hurts too much to cry anymore . . . ’sides, others got it much worse than me, or mine. ;-)
My condolances Mary . . . . didn’t know . . . . tell Ron I said howdy, and pick one in D! *G*
saw my first tornado when i was in lawton oklahoma visiting my g/friend dallas. don’t wanna see another. luckily it was traveling along the horizon and i did not have to get down into the spiderwebby storm cellar.
fork – i’m so sorry dood hoping it clears soon and you are back to your onery self soon.
Ain’t it though . . . I’ve forgotten her name . . . used to know them all:
Spanky McFarlane
Mama Cass
The falsetto in ‘Lion Sleeps Tonight’
Them Big, BIG voices in pop/rock.
Gotta put Babs Streis in there, though . . . that’s big.
N Mary Travers, GOTTA put Mary Travers in there.
Big assed voices . . . wonderful women, great times! *G*
Had me worried there for a minute Mary..
I turn 62 next month so they will start giving me my money in July… boy do we need it, we have been just scraping by for so long..
ha. If you’re not careful, i’ll take some vacation time and go out to Antioch to visit my sis. Which is just a hop, skip n jump from Sac. I’ll team up with MrsLarue and we’ll make you take care of yourself. *peers sternly over glasses* first it was that coughing and coughing and coughing, now its yer eyes … dood. I’m warning you.
Ron and I are divorcing and that lets me qualify. My first hubby made a good salary and I will get the most a person can. This is going to create much greater stability for me and mine.
can’t find the band info on the google :(
oh crap – totally sucks how these forking assholes in support of man/woman marriage are forcing you to divorce in order to survive financially
forkers
As a single person I can earn up to 25,000 a year before I get taxed.
A married couple only gets 32,000 a year.
Why is it like this?
Beverly Bivens?
makes absolutely no forking sense
Do they think we are just a punch of stupids and go along our merry married way without regard to reality?
The answer to that is YEP.
hey mac
Maybe it is a hold over from when woman weren’t in the work force so much.
it sure as hell ain’t the ’50s anymore – they should update their forking rules
Are you doing it so you can qualify for the Benefits I hope.
isn’t that what they call the marriage penalty?
Yes.
I thanked my first hubby tonight for the continued security he is providing.
Evening, Suzanne & co.
how ya been mac? haven’t seen ya around (or was i not paying as much attention as i should have been)
I think the marriage penalty applies to income taxes. I had never thought about this until a few years ago. It is something you don’t really look into. Now that you can see all of the rules and regs online people can figure what to apply for.
The worker helping with divorce at the courthouse said many people are divorcing to indemnify one another from their medical bills.
That is not forked up. That is fucked up.
He did you right Mary. Glad it will be helping you and Ron get through these tough times!
you are right mary mcc – tis totally fucked up
Thanks Suz . . . this too, shall pass . . . lol
Larue,
Do you have gout or something?
Damn, I’m phooked . . . . you chicks don’t play fair.
While yer here, you can talk to MY chick, and ’splain to her to see doc’s regular, too.
I’m tellin ya, she makes me look weak . . lol
Suzanne, you being inattentive is not very likely.
Hiya, pups. Blowing 35-50, 40 degrees F.
Just back from a big local progressive victory. Local Dems and non-bible GOP consolidated our hold on the local utility board. We may now be strong enough to push for a geothermal/wind hydro future, rather than “clean” coal.
Helping Ms. ET cook meat for tacos for 90 grade school kids. She’s on her way to Homer for a week on a field trip.
*laughing* it does happen mac – as i age, oftener than i would like
Sorry Mary, think you mentioned that here or there . . .
Congrats! And again, a shout out to my square necked pal . . . always found him a hoot AND a holler.
Nice guy, good hooman . . . and he honors his lady . . . always liked that about him. ;-)
yike et – thats forking cold when ya factor in the wind chill
Dang, no wiki, either . . . . wierd! But man, she had a voice . . . . *G*
I am off to bed. See ya tomorra.
Was that her? I totally forget, other than the voice . . . .
g’nite mary mcc
Colder with the wind chill, but 40 degrees and wind melts ice.
Nope, a spasm of the third cranial nerve that paralyzes the locuter muscles in an eye and renders it incapable of following in tandem with the other eye.
Binoculor Diplpoa.
It’s a virus. I have had the WORST allergies ever this year, and migranes.
I think that’s what triggered the dormant virus, the swelling of the sinuses.
And the virus cause the paralysis of the eye muscles.
6 weeks, to run its course. As of April 2 or so, I think . . .
Course, I look at my honey, and see two of her . . . that’s not bad . . . lololol
yikes!
Dude, that is a mighty confluence of stuff happening.
I have a little iritis and thought that was bad.
Good luck with it.
If they change your meds, will there be three of her?
hehehehe give a whole new meaning to a threesome
good heavens! allergies & migraines are no fun, and then to have that on top of it. Insult to injury i think they call it.
Yes, i’ll definitely have a girl-talk heart-to-heart with MrsLaRue, we wanna keep her healthy too!
Loved the song, never heard anything else from them.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beverly_Bivens
mirage-a-trois?
ooooh, that is good – you are gonna be giving punaise a run for his pun crown if ya keep that up – nicely done
Clever comment of the day – we have a winner!
But it would be four, I believe.
I believe I’ll have another, also.
feeling single seeing double
emmylou’s version is better imho
Thanks, had it three years ago.
I’m now an expert at it. lol
And more learned about it, than some of the docs.
I use the toobz, and the doc’s want to know where I got the lingo.
Scares them, it does, as better informed patients of all sorts are a threat to HMO managed health care that seeks to squash care AND coverage.
As many others in here have encountered, with MUCH greater issues than I have.
Mine’s not life threatening . . .
To those others, I give my heart and hope . . .
OK, I have a cartoon! Off to enjoy, then to bed.
enjoy and g’nite sunny
Heh heh heh, ET, there’s a reason I love reading yer stuff. *G*
No meds involved for my sitch, just sit and wait it out.
Wish there were meds . . . .
I love my wife, for 25 years now, a single union.
But three of her? I’d have to buy another dobro and play more to balance that. ;-)
Larue, I remember Spanky. She lived in Albuquerque for a while at least, I heard her play there. Hadn’t thought of that in ages!
God I just wanna reach out thru the toobz and . . . if I was yer Da, I’d spank ya, little girl, for that smirk . . ;-)
Yer killin me . . . don’t ever stop. lol
hahahaha your chain is so easy to yank dood
NDFG, I haz a story of a life time to share with ya offline, about my honey.
*G*
Blow yer mind, as the Texas bands of the 60’s mighta said . . .LOLOLOL
Shoot me a current email, you got mine, I’m pretty sure?
Yep, then that’s her.
Wow, what a voice.
Thanks for tracking that down!
*G*
