Just go read Gavin.
When you’re done, come back and read about Americans for Prosperity (listed on the Houston Tea Party site as "local sponsor") and its President, Tim Phillips:
Before replacing Koch Industries lobbyist Nancy Pfotenhauer as president of Americans for Prosperity, Timothy R. Phillips had a long career as a conservative operative. In 1992, Phillips managed Rep. Bob Goodlatte’s (R-VA) first Congressional campaign and served as his chief of staff for four years. In 1997, Phillips co-founded public relations firm Century Strategies with Ralph Reed. There, Phillips oversaw “direct mail, telemarketing, coalition building and strategic services” for the 2000 and 2004 Bush for President campaigns, and specialized in “grasstops” operations to establish fake grassroots organizations. [Century Strategies (Internet Archive)]
David H. Koch is the Chairman of the Board of Americans for Prosperity. Its funders include the usual rogue’s gallery of big right wing infrastructure donors: Armstrong/Bradley/Lambe nexus.
I guess that’s what Glenn Reynolds considers "pure grassroots."
Oh, gotta stop laughing. I’m hurting myself.

But you didn’t give them an interview! Assholes.
If only the little tea baggers could understand “Americans for Prosperity” means .01 percent of Americans for prosperity.
Wonder what benefits of the bailout trillions the likes of Koch has already received?
Looks like ES opened Digg before I could get there!! /s
Citizen Hamsher:
Don’t you dare hurt yerself laughin’ at the overture…what are ya gunna do when the curtain goes up and they REALLY get down to the grassroots on Wednesday??!!
No Sister Jane, take a couple a pills and wait for Wednesday…we needja on duty, reportin’ from the front lines.
Is Nancy Pf still being invited to the party? Even after she gave such good financial advice to the McCain, at the same time as sneering at everyone else?
Reynolds is rooting for some pure grass?
Keep the pressure up, Jane.
ES–yeah, all these morans are going to come out in support of prosperity for .01 percent of Americans, directly harming themselves in the process. Puppets with cotton stuffing for brains…
grassrots is more like it.
Aloha Ya’ll… Hawaii has it’s own little ‘Tea Party’ slated… The extremely marginalized Goopers here think they’ve stumbled upon a winning theme…! As if…! ;-)
Must.Close.Every.Federal.Installation.In.Tennessee
Must.Blacklist.Every. UTLaw.Grad
Interesting. …David H. Koch is a former VP candidate for the Libertarian party.
Howdy, ES! Miss ya’ll and hope to be back online for good soon… Let the LLN crew know I’m doing better and hope to chat more often with ‘em…! Aloha Oe!
Good to hear from you, CT…)
Oh Shuster is killing me with his double entendres tonight.
Jeebus, funny.
-G
Take good care…thanks for checking in.
Aloha!
-G
zomg, Shuster just punned the teabaggers to death on Countdown.
OMG I can’t believe what Shuster just said…how did O’Donnell keep a straight face?
Citizen CTuttle:
Hey Brother CT you shrimp-eatin’ squid…where the hell have you been??!! Jesus, I miss everythin’ around here!
Jane,
I wrote on one of your earlier posts, this is so amazingly hysterical – you cannot make this stuff up.
Hollywood will make a great movie about this one day.
The baggers and bagettes will be screaming about the Liberal Media. :)
If your protest has corporate sponsors…
ur doin it wrong
You’re just a parade or half-time entertainment.
So, what’s with the San Antonio teabagging event being cancelled? Too many white power types planning to show?
Jane, bullseye, as always.
Is there a darkblack opportunity here somewhere?
Nice ta see you.

Teabaggers should be encouraged to form a new political party, the Tea Party, to replace that crummy old Republican party that screwed everything up. I want to look at an electoral ballot that reads “Jane Doe, Democrat”, “Joe Schmoe, Teabagger”
I’m guessing you’re right. Smerconish mentioned on Tweety tonight that the rethugs might not be happy with many of the folks that will likely show up. Not just anti-tax protester but the true wackos. shocking.
Trivia Question: Who was 2008 United States presidential election alternate running mate to Charles Jay’s “Boston Tea Party” campaign in the states of Arkansas, Hawaii, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Utah?
Hint #1: She likely knew what “tea-bagging” really meant.
Hint #2: She passed away just today.
Hmmm. I think every pup and everyone else ought to head on down and have a look-see at the festivities. Here in Portland, they’ll be, as usual, outnumbered 100-1. I’m not a gambler, but I’m betting that there will be signs worth a chuckle or two. I wrote about this yesterday. cocktailhag.com/blog
Teddy, are you sure that SA’s been cancelled? That’s the big one, with Glenn Beck, their hottest star. ACORN will be blamed, natch, but I’d love to know more.

LOL
Houston, we have a problem.
But Minnesota apparently does not (or is at least one step closer to ridding itself of a problem).
Commenters over at Gavin’s mentioned it, but perhaps they were ratfucking.
I’m sure Beck fears for his life if ACORN’s gonna show up.
Bob Goodlatte (R-VA)…
I’m sorry, but how can someone with that name not be tree-hugging commie-sympathizing Democrat?
tell me he doesn’t drive Volvo.
I’ve contacted the FCC (TV group) to ask them if there are any consequences to Fox and think tanks if the angry mobs that they are organizing hurt anyone.
I have also contacted the SF City Attorney to see how they have handled property crimes that arose out of corporate organized protests. (By the way about 5 years ago I helped SF collect $100,000 from NBC because they hired a ad agency to spray graffiti on the sidewalks to promote a TV show called the 4400. They used permanent paint. They had to pay a fine and pay to sandblast the sidewalks clean.)
I think that we should have some legal opinions on CIVIL damages and who can collect from whom if there are problems. I would be nice to find a lawyer who has successful gotten money from an DFH organization to be the spokesperson. I want a quote like, “I don’t care if they are on the left or right, if they are destroying property they need to pay to fix it.”
I would also like a criminal prosecutor who has gone after DFHs to be available as well. ‘Breaking the law is breaking the law. If they punch a cop they are going to jail. If they punch a hippy they are going to jail. I don’t care what their political party is.”
I want to have some experts that the Non-Fox media can talk to about this. Experts who appear independent because they have sued or prosecuted hippies in the past and are eager to show that they are FAIR when they sue yuppies or rich people.
I’m trying to line up the experts in SF in case anything happens. I’ve contacted the SF police Field ops office as well as the SF City Attorney. I think that it might make sense for us to gather these kind of contacts for major cities where something happen so we can deliver the experts to the media when it happens AND have the experts ready.
We on the left have had decades of experience putting on peaceful protests. We know not to bring guns and not to resist arrest. When property damage happens it is from a group of anarchists who were black masks and run after breaking windows. I wonder if the people on the right who are doing a corporate sponsored protest are prepared for the right-wing equivalent of black masked anarchists. (They will of course say that there were infiltrated by ACORN anarchists)
Will the corporate sponsors and Fox follow the Pottery shop rule, “If you break it you own it!” rule? If violence or property damage happen I want to make sure all the non-Fox stations know who should pay if the gathering of an angry mob (who own guns) gets on out control.
I’m sure if something happens it will become one of those, “Nobody could have predicted!” bits. Well I hope it doesn’t come to this, but if it does I just want to go on record as predicting it. I’m happy to be wrong.
San Antonio cancelled ?
hmmmmm ol Crybaby hisself is scheduled to appear at San Antonio $500 /plate fundraiser
Could someone help me out please? Did Jane really say that the events were QUOTE: “financed by Fox News” ?
This guy used his video recording machine and his computer box thingy to put together a YouTube video that claims to quote Jane:
http://frankstrategiesblog.com…..-fox-news/
But he does not include actual video of Jane saying that actual thing, and in his comments he tells me that he was busy futzing with his camera so he wasn’t able to film it.
He also claims that since Jane didn’t deny it, it must therefore be true.
http://frankstrategiesblog.com…..y-truthers
Since questioning Mr. Frank’s reportage apparently makes me some kind of wacko, it would be nice to know for sure if he quoted Jane correctly or not.
Thanks puppies!
Marilyn Chambers.

no. Jane covered that nonsense here
see tried gotcha
BTW, I made the same prediction of violence or property damage on the NY Times under Paul Krugman’s blog. My comment never made it out of moderation. I think they were afraid of the specter of right wing violence sponsored by the media.
Koch, FOX and Co., really should remind all the tea baggers to take their meds before leaving their guns at home on Wed.
Which Koch is married to the Bushwitch?
Great comment, thanks.
In San Francisco the hosts of RW Radio station, KSFO, are all scheduled to go out to the Teabagger parties.
Melanie Morgan has organized counter protests against Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink. During her Code Pink protest someone from here group, Move American Forward, pulled a knife and slashed the Code Pink sign. Then he slashed the microphone cord that was held by Medea Benjamin. So– property damage. Violence with a weapon that could have been deadly. The Berkeley police did nothing.
Morgan talked about how she was going to have a “show down” at “high noon” (her words) at the Code Pink counter protest.
I contacted the management of the station prior to the event and asked them who was going to pay if there is violence? They sent a memo to Ms. Morgan. She came on the air the morning before the event and very sarcastically said, “Of course we will only be PEACEFUL in our protest.” It was a case of the words meaning the opposite based on the tone of voice of the speaker.
How about a “Denial of Service” attack on the “Tea Baggers”? Denial of Postal Service that is.
If the organization has a mailing address then see how many teabags they like coming in through their mail slot. It would be a fun and inexpensive whay to have fun with them. One might even replace the tea with someother interesting mixture. Not a harmful mixture. Please no violence.
Yes, let us be particularly careful about that.
I’m really hoping that Jane promotes my new Grassroots effort: “William K. Wolfrum’s Coffee Break at the National Mall on July 4!”
It’s so totally grassroots you’ll all be covered in mud by the time it’s over.
;)
