  • How does this end?
  • Bowers has some thoughts on Afghanistan.
  • No more gulags, sez Leon.
  • Housing recovery projections.
  • Light at the end of the tunnel?
  • Good news.
  • Obama’s not as deserving as Jerry Colangelo?
  • The Republicans in my state are truly peerless.
  • Because astroturf isn’t just for breakfast anymore.

Well it is easter weekend again. Guess catholics in Ireland will be going to the holy mother of pedofilia chapel to rejoice in their deviant clergy

Oy, what is going on in America? These crazy, violence-inciting fascists are calling the left fascists? Fascism is a right-wing form of tyranny, if you’re going for hyperbole, at least call us communists.

It would be pathetic if their lunatic fanboys weren’t being inspired to go out and kill people.

I know it’s early…but really. Should you make fun of the TX Lege? Change your name; next change your party or your sex. What’s the big deal? Where’s Molly?

Panetta on no more secret gulags: just means he’ll try to keep them even more secret than the last ones. The U.S., especially the CIA, will never give up torture.

I heard a short clip of Summers at the Economic Club yesterday. Couldn’t believe my ears. This guy lives on a different planet than the rest of us, a planet known only to Friedmaniacs. If Obama keeps listening to Summers and that ilk we’re in for a really bad time economically.

After all pretty soon they will be able to go for rides at the GW bush fun center and then maybe get a masters in creationism.

I caught part of it when I was loading another audiobook disc on my ipod and it seemed pretty standard fare. What did you hear?

BT -

When I read about betty brown in the TX paper, the first thing that popped to mind was, “*This* is gonna get on Susan Bankston’s very last nerve.” And sure enough, it did. *G*

eCAHN @ 4 -

Kinda puts the lie to the bush administration’s claim that we had no secret gulags, doesn’t it? :-(((

Not to go all O/T buuut….

Your mention of the Blessed Virgin Mother made me chuckle. Raised Catholic, we have a somewhat cynical view of the church. Cbl and I have a 3 ft tall BVM statue on our front porch. She has for years been seasonally adorned with appropriate headgear. During baseball season an Astros hat (Our Lady of the Long Ball), camo hat for dove season (Our Lady of the 12 Gauge) you get the picture. However, last month Cbl put a black leather vest and black bandana on her and she is now and will remain Our Lady of the V-Twin. (yeah, i know, i’m goin to hell)

I drove by the one in Poland in June 2001. My Polish relatives said: the Russians moved out and the U.S. moved in. It was 2007 when I learned that was one of the secret gulags.

How can it be a secret if everyone knew about it? See there were no secret gulags.

Which means, of course, that the U.S. moved in long before the W administration. Don’t know what use it was put to over the years. But the Poles certainly knew it was a U.S. military base.

He made this whole mess sound like just a little bump in the road. We’ll all be fine next year, the all knowing, all powerful market’s picking up, pretty much the same shit McSFB was saying as everything was blowing up in his face.

Such a bias, but I find him hard to listen to because I find him hard to look at…maybe because I know he thinks women don’t have much in the way of brains. Maybe he’s right; we weren’t getting all that endowment money;)

Housing recovery projections.

I don’t get the map. All of the discussion about disaster has been about geographic areas where real estate prices particularly bubbled, like Florida, California, Arizona, and Nevada. The map indicates all of those areas will stabilize this year or next, whereas the midwest and the northeast will suffer continued decline in housing prices for several more years. I hope that’s not based on job loss and general economic decline projections.

The guy who introduced Summers said he’s as good as a pro at tennis. I’d never have thought that, looking at him.

Got here late cuz it looks like Feurae went after Igraine as she was sleeping on the computer desk. Took out everything but the machine and monitor. Quite the mess on the floor first thing this morning. For some reason Feurae has been after her last couple of days. Worse than kids sometimes.

Off to swim in the great fucked up capitalist cesspool.

Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.

Namaste

fhm & SD, I’m just reporting. The story was that the introducer had a pro as a partner & played doubles against Summers & unnamed partner. Had a hell of a game. Take it for what it’s worth. Even if it’s only half true, it’s a different look at Summers.

LOL! when we were (Catholic school) kids, these epeople had a Mary statue in front of their house and it had a lighted crown. I guess when the bulbs needed to be replaced they didn’t use the right size b/c the crown had huge bulbs in it. Used to call her Our Lady of the Light Bulb. I think if more people planted St. Joseph the housing situation would improve all over.

Well, actually, no, fascism is neither right nor left. It’s a synonym for state corporativism in political taxonomic nomenclature. Both McCain and Obama, e.g., have both demonstrated their proclivities in this direction rather convincingly.
