Some of you may have heard/read my rant in January about jp Chase adding a $10 service charge to my 3.99% life of the loan loan. Got form letter yesterday- they are dropping it and crediting the 3 motnhs. Guess lots of people were pissed because when I called in January they were not budging!!

Everyone- stand up & leave them! Go credit unions!!

want more porkulus news and generational theft stuff? See we’re staelin’ from our kids, ya know? It’s all about the kids. Right?

Right,.

In Flori-duh, the schools were going down the shitter, facing humongus budget cuts. You know. the kids. Now we’re getting some $$$ from the socialists in washington. Like about %$865 million. Schools can stay open. They’re only going to cut spending on such non-essentials as textbooks and buses.

I have a feeling that our Legislature Rethugs are gonna be in for a surprise during the next election. Folks are not happy with their continuation of the status quo and an economy based on retirees moving to FL and tourists.

Haven’t been here all that long so I was really surprised to learn that our cigarette tax is so low and hasn’t been raised in 20 years. You’re right. I’ve actually heard the words “income tax” mentioned. Not much. But those words used to be forbidden.

Even republicans aren’t pleased

The state has relied on property taxes and the “Tourist Development Tax” for the state’s budget since the 50s. The repeated refusals to look at the tax exemptions have really got folks pissed. Rethugs get laid off just like everybody else. Jobs are disappearing faster than good hash.

Morning SD and BFL. Maybe we should just make this the Florida blog today. I’m actually in the district for our current speaker, Larry Cretul Cretin. He’s gonna have a lot of trouble on his hands when people figure out how broke the state really is. His party has to get all the blame, given their huge majority in Tally.

I’m waiting for Kriseman to show his true colours. He covertly backed a Rethug turned Dem (Hackworth) in order to beat a progressive (Simpson) in the primary in 08. I’m waiting for him to announce for Young’s seat then I’m really gonna go all out to throw his ass to the wolves. I’ve met him a number of times at various events. Thinks he’s a slick motherfucker. I got his slick right here.

Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.

Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.

Namaste

However, I agree that Turley makes great points.

Mornin’ All,

I sat up horrified when Professor Turley mentioned “soverign immunity” – I knew it was rancid but didn’t grasp the breadth of it’s reach until I heard the good professor.

how in the world is this assault on the Fourth Amendment any different than what Yoo did to the Geneva Conventions ??

for goodness sakes, the “willful disclosure” dodge echo’s “organ failure or death”

“a breathtaking claim” indeed

I kept backing up my TiVo and replaying the Turley interview a bit at a time so I could write it down. I am beginning to keep track of all of the ways BHO is disappointing me.

There was a very disturbing interview yesterday afternoon on NPR with a gun shop owner in Texas. He claimed the sales of guns and ammunition are way up, beginning with Obama’s election. People are stocking up because they’re convinced Obama is going to take their guns away. If that isn’t bad enough, he ended with a rant that sounded directly out of Limbaugh-land, including that Obama is giving taxpayer money to those who “won’t” work. The web summary doesn’t contain his actual comments, so you should listen to the clip for the full effect.

The legislature will certainly fuck up the casino revenue issue. The Seminoles will end up not having to give any money to the state. If the Feds ok their gambling changes there’s nothing the state can do about it. Dumber than a fuckin’ box o’ rocks.

Colour me gone.

Thinking of Reaganites, had an email discussion with a conservative who was getting all hysterical about the money Obama was planning to spend. Looked up National Debt and found it was a little under $1 trillion when Reagan took office, was over $5 trillion when the elder Bush was in office, Clinton held it steady for pretty much the whole decade of the 1990s, the younger Bush pushed up above $11 trillion. Now, of course, out of a clear blue sky, now all of the sudden, conservatives are worried about money!!!
So lemme get this straight, three Republican presidents and a Republican-lite push the National Debt up to over 10 times what it was when Jimmy Carter left office and only now are Republicans worried about excessive expenditures!!! Um, yeah, OK, sure guys y’all have lots of credibility on this one!

Have you read this yet? http://oxdown.firedoglake.com/diary/4651 …..recommended.

It seems as tho Turley is getting a bit “distressed” at what Obama is doing.
Go read this stuff too, It’ll curl your hair:

The dictator behind the curtain is coming out. We don’t have a Constitution anymore; we have THE PATRIOT ACT. I guess I just didn’t realize that until here lately.

I have it on personal record from an otherwise reasonable and quite pleasant Houston woman that they believe down there that with Obama’s election the Blacks are going to take revenge for what the White’s ahve done to them since the start of slavery. I heard that with my very own ears, and she was serious (though quite pleasant, as if it was obvious).

” “I’m convinced Raul Castro wants a normal relationship with the United States,” Lee said after the meeting with the 77-year-old, the Associated Press reported. “He’s serious.”

“I think that what really surprised me, but also endeared me to him, was his keen sense of humor, his sense of history and his basic human qualities,” Rush said. “I intend to do everything that I can when we get back to the States to make sure that normalization with our relationship with Cuba is given proper consideration both within the House of Representatives and the neighborhoods of America.” “

I heard that interview, too. The idea that some blue-haired grandmother is armed with an AK-47 for “protection” is more than a little bizarro. And his whole screed at the end was that “protection” wasn’t just against the typical thieves…but the “government thieves”. That sort of stuff, plus the Bachmann assertions that Americorps is simply a brainwashing program for kids, is going to be a dangerous combination, I fear.

Little Billy and Melissa will be out there in their Americorps blazers and some nutcase is going to start firing on the “Obama Youth”.
