Move over Anderson Cooper, here comes Nico Pitney.
On April 29th, FDL will be live broadcasting a netroots-hosted debate at Virginia Tech between gubernatorial candidates Creigh Deeds, Terry McAuliffe and Brian Moran. I’ll be joining Nico Pitney of the Huffington Post, Ben Tribbett of Virgina blog Not Larry Sabato, and David Grant of the Collegiate Times to pose questions asked by people on YouTube, Twitter, and participating blogs.
To submit a question on Youtube, just record your video (15-60 seconds please) and upload it to your youtube channel. Then you can send a message to our channel or shoot us an email at VAGovDebate@gmail.com to let us know your question is posted.
To ask a question via twitter, just send an @ message to our handle at VAGovDebate. We will retweet all questions as they come in on twitter from that handle, so you will know that we received it.
Anyone will be able to embed the debate on their website, and we’ll be talking with people afterwards to find out how they respond to the debate
The deadline for questions will be on April 27, so if you’ve got anything you’re simply dying to ask Terry McAuliffe, you know what to do.

Wow, Jane, this is very exciting!
Dugg right here — please join me!
(I wonder when Digg will replace the 2008 Elections category? Maybe when Senator Franken takes his seat…)
It should be a lot of fun. I thought the YouTube debate was by far the best presidential debate, so I’m very much looking forward to this format.
“Terry, when did you decide you wanted to be governor of Virginia instead of governor of Florida or New York?”
“Terry, will President Hillary Clinton campaign alongside you in Virginia if you win the nomination?”
“Terry, for whom will you work as governor, the voters or your campaign contributors?”
“Terry, Brian, Creigh – why are you running for governor? Specifically, what do you hope to accomplish for the voters as governor that makes you the superior choice?”
i hope the format leaves room for follow-up questions or comments by you, the panelists, so we don’t have to put up with naked slime that’s left slimy.
Can we ask Terry to take a field sobriety test?
“…when I saw that any ol DLC/DNC stooge could get elected in VA.”
“oh, and unlike NY and FL, in Virginia the Governor is referred to as “His Excellency” – effin sweeet !”
Yep, we get to talk to them afterwards on-camera too.
Jane!
We have an activist forum in Arlington County: The 16th Street Forum. Meet every two weeks to study the Constitution and the week’s constitutional issue (and did we ever get behind during BushCo).
We have a slew of questions ready!
to all 3-
Do you support the Employee Free Choice Act? if not, why not?
As governor will you continue to bring businesses into Virginia by telling them they don’t have to worry about unions in this right to work for less state or would you actively pursue companies who are already unionized or are open to unions?
that eeez most eggselent!
“Will any of you work to overturn the incumbent governor’s ban on stem cell research in Virginia?”
from a Not Larry Sabato thread -

Just how did this happen a Net Debate? Are the candidates that Progressive? A debate where every thing is not prescripted questions known in advance certain topics are not allowed? I don’t know much about this race are these all Dem candidates?
If there is a GOPer in the debate he’s brave we will have to watch him in the future. If there are no GOPers expect the Righty blogs to follow suit with a GOP Net debate if any GOPer can overcome their fear.
Or maybe they will make assurances that all the questions are GOP safe?
Anyway how are questions for our debate selected Michelle Malkin’s flying monkeys might try and put in some outrageous questions about Obama concentration camps, taking away guns etc, how are those questions handled?
How are questions picked I don’t want to game the system I just want some reassurance that Moonbat questions
won’t wreck or overwhelm the debate.
But I would also want to be fair and see a few moonbat questions addressed
Jane, you hot ticket, you! Awesome what you are building.
“Are any of you taking money from hedge funders or banksters who’ve gotten bailout money from the federal government?”
Virginia has NO limits on contributions. NONE.
Wow… good news.
Jane:
Be careful of whom you are getting into bed with: Not Larry Sabato is not to be trusted! He is trashing a good many Virginia Democratic elected officials or candidates to attract Republicans to his blog. If you doubt this, check his posts attacking Democrats and the comments on his blog.
