Newt Gingrich — with all his Boss Hogg gravitas — prattled on FoxNews Sunday about the "recklessness" of Obama’s foreign policy, while proclaiming we should attack North Korea with ‘frickin’ lasers. Meanwhile, Obama was making a speech in front of an enthusiastic crowd in Prague about a goal of ridding the earth of nuclear weapons.
Nuclear disarmament is so boring compared to Newt’s fictional Blofeldian world of lasers.
As Newt was trying the beat the drums of non-existent war, North Korea was demonstrating the real danger of its missile program was that it would epically fail by plopping down on Japan. At present, Estes Rockets have a superior success rate to Asia’s worst Roy Orbison impersonator:
“It’s a setback,” Jonathan McDowell, a Harvard astronomer who tracks satellites and rocket launchings, said of the North Korean launching. He added that the North Koreans must now find and fix the problem. “The missile doesn’t represent any kind of near-term threat.”
North Korea as a high-tech threat barely exists in puppet movies, but then Newt Gingrich isn’t a viable presidential candidate even in puppet movies.

Missed old newtie on fox yesterday. He does seem to crawl out of his hole a lot lately. Don’t think he is in denial though, billybugs. These lasers are no joke. There have long been secret Air Force programs to develop high power lasers to attack satellites, enemy soldiers on the ground, etc. One consequence would be the permanent blinding and burning of ground soldiers. To call for their deployment is just utterly insane and sick.

It does seem from this side of the Atlantic that Obama’s common sense and smoothness is driving the wingers and their msm enablers even more crazy than they were to start with. He has been incredibly well-received over here. I think the press are in a state of shock. Even the local politicians seem to be making more sense since G20.
As to Newt and his like, they live on fear, it’s their product, it’s the only thing that can get them elected. Obama has pulled that rug from under their feet. It seems to me that the only thing that can derail the Pres is a new uprising in Iraq, which seems increasingly likely. But even that is unlikely to help the Newts, since they created the problem in the first place.

People would be indeed foolish to overlook and underestimate the creativity and wisdom of Newt’s proposals. Immolation and high-tech sauteeing and radical over-heating of large portions of the world’s population is a terrific and efficient method of controlling especially undesirable outcroppings of humanity in parts of the world where it has been proven that they cannot feed or educate themselves. Newt should be rightly recognized as the master chef in the kitchen of reproductive limitation; microwave quick-cooking of large portions of the rapidly increasing numbers of sub-standard humanoids leaves little waste, all of it re-cyclable, and subsequent use of nuclear applicatiions will leave enough toxic detritus behind that any attempts at rebuilding or recontruction would be conveniently discouraged. By his own admission, Obama’s goal to eliminate the nuclear threat may indeed may not be possible during his lifetime, so why postpone utilizing better and more efficent methods of reducing the need for food production, sanitary facilities or hindrances to cures for cancer or genocide?
Newt should be our next President and then promoted to emporer of the world, having clearly demonstrated the only clear vision for world growth management yet demonstrated by any current world leader. He has two ex-wives who can attest to his abiity to effectively despoil human relationships and a third who has convinced him to demonstrate his further ability to radically alter spiritual beliefs. His subtle linguistic skills will surely raise the stature of the US in the eyes of the rest of the world, or at least those whom he does not microwave. I am thrilled and happy to to be living in the shadow of such greatness.
