Morning BT
To not use reconciliation as a means of getting our legislation thru the senate is to say that cowtowing to the club is more important than doing the peoples work. If anyone thinks that the rethugs are going to do anything but vote no in lockstep they are in a fog.

RE: THE generational theft link to WaPo article:

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said he feared the consequences of a budget that “calls for a dramatic and potentially irreversible shift of our nation to the left in the areas of health care, education and private enterprise.”

Yeah? So?

Sounds like we need to make calls to Mike’s office and ask him what he means by, “..it will be like declaring war…” Sounds like a threat to me. He owes the American public specifics in this post 9-11 world. He’s talking like a terrorist.

Yep, Granny Mitch has got to be upset that the Rethug efforts over the last 25 years to destroy the public school system have come to naught. Can’t have all these kids learning how to think, doncha know. Thinking folks aren’t good for the authoritarian agenda.

Wrt the sanford article, I still read the dead-tree edition of the largest regional paper and if I never look at a by-line, it’s easy to identify a McClatchy writer…….imho, almost always more in-depth analysis than found in any other US paper, including the NYT.

Steele made it clear. He said the GOP will never be about bipartisanship. He stated it was all about winning and the Dems losing, no matter what.

That’s the party mentality, negative sum.

That fundy hick from Arkansas Mike Huckleberry is encouraging terrorism is Virginia. I am thinking that these phony Christian fascists will do anything to steal an election.

HUCKABEE: You have two jobs. One – get all those people who are gonna vote for Bob out to the polls and vote. If they’re not gonna vote for Bob, you have another job. Let the air out of their tires and do not let them out of their driveway on Election Day. Keep ‘em home. Do the lord’s work, my friend. I’m giving you an opportuninty…yes, do the right thing.

I was enthralled. Something that struck me while they were dancing was how universal it seemed. With different costumes, it could have been Irish. The beat and the steps. Anyway, yes you should mosey on down. I bet you’d love it too.

I would be willing to think Gingrich really believed some of the dangerous crap he spouts, if he issued the statement from the somewhere near the DMZ in Korea and were forced to remain there until at least three months after the North Korean launch.

That sounds so wonderful. Evidently, my great grandmother was native American and I have been trying to confirm this information. The Iroquois National Museum has been trying to help me obtain records. If we are successful, our family will be going through an adoption ceremony.

Yeah, we should perform an act of war with a nation of brainwashed robots, run by a megalomaniac, in order prevent launch of a rudimentary ICBM because they might use it to carry an electromagnetic bomb which more advanced nations have not yet developed.

Believing in the words of that long-haired socialist Jew goes against the authoritarian nature of the Old Testament, where males are all powerful and to sacrifice one’s children is the ultimate act of faith. To say nothing of its attitude toward women and those who don’t agree with the patriarchs. Give. Me. A. Fuckin’. Break.

Squirrel Boy was the only real Fundamentalist Candidate in the GOP Presidential race and he placed where second, third considering just how beholden the GOP is to fundamentalist voters and thats the best he could do?
If I want election advice I’ll ask Obama record Primary turnout heck Hilary our runner up got more votes in many states than McCain did.
Asking Squirrel boy for advice on winning elections is like asking a blind man advice on aiming a gun.

Oh, ha. At the last Laity Day, the pastor had asked me to bring the message. One of the things I said was that Jesus was a radical. I also said that he taught with parables because we are suppose to Think and Interpret! Three people had heart attacks and the rest of the congregation merely fainted. Yes, I’m exaggerating, but the looks on their faces was priceless.

Maybe it’s in First Galatians where there’s a reference to the Battle of Tyres. Or maybe he’s just wrong. OMG, think of that, a Republican who is wrong. Could it be?

Seems like he’s inciting people to commit a serious crime.

IIRC, when Huckabee said that, he was kidding. It’s in the same vein as the old Chicago saying to “vote early and vote often.” Let’s lighten up a bit. But i DO like the Battle of Tyres reference.
