Hi Suz! Running a bit late… watching the final ER!!

cold wet and rainy but warmer than yesterday. only got up to 41 here then. today, we hit 50 and the weather dood is forecasting no rain and 70’s by sunday.

‘June gloom’ in Los Angeles. (It used to come in June, but it’s been getting earlier every year. Now it’s more like April and May gloom.)

here they’re forecasting maybe rain on monday, but who knows. but i drove by the lexington reservoir today, and it’s definitely fuller than it has been.

i am looking forward to the green all year up here instead of that ugly baby poop yellow/brown the hills of ca turn at the end of spring.

what’s june gloom? i thought that was a baseball term used about the sf giants, who start off great every year but fork it up with a huge losing streak in june,

I knew something was up when my computer locked up right at Eleven O’clock, sure as sheet, Windows Defender was trying to do a scan , forks me every time.

Best hospital waiting room short story collection I’ve ever had was Maeve Binchy’s Victoria Line-Central Line (aka London Transports). Loaned it out so many time it disintegrated. Not easy to come by, but she also has 4 other collections.

Have not yet read Evanovich’s short stories, they’re next in line. So don’t have an opinion about their waiting room suitability. Her caper novels aren’t particularly soothing or easy to put down/pick up. Diverting/distracting? oh my yes.

I recall something focused on the Niagara Falls area. . Scratching head.

One last night in the box but tanight I’m gunna need all the bullshit repellent you Firepups ken muster beacause I’m mad as hell and ready ta kick some fascist ass. Ya see, they sent out early retirement proposals to 19 of us old timers who are the last vested in the old annuity pension program that the hospital dumped 3 years ago. It’s a rip snortin’ 8 weeks base pay with 1 year of employer contributributions to COBRA for those who are on company health insurance (I ain’t). Next week these mental paraplegics, linear descendants of Bernie Maddoff, are gunna send out “voluntary layoff” proposals to a select group of folks (read highest paid, longest serving) and since we aren’t union they don’t hafta follow any seniority system at all.

While we’re in pretty good shape financially,I will not go without a fight. My wife and I ken make it on what I got comin’ in the miniscule pension (along with Social Security) but I am gunna make my own buyout proposal to ‘em to save ‘em the balance of my salary for this year and about $250,000 in salary and FICA for the 4 years I was plannin ta continue workin’ and about $50,000 of pension payouts they will be obligated for if I live as long as I intend to. I’ve been here before and I’ve been on the management end too when layoffs were comin’ down under St. Ronnie Reagan, may he burn in hell forever. The thing that makes me maddest is not that us older, long servin’ employees are gettin’ pushed out but that those kids left behind have already taken a wage and hour cut and have had the employer contribution to their 401K’s ended. They will NEVER make up those loses in their normal term of emplyment…and these kids will have NUTHIN’ but Social Security when they go out. Anyone who doesn’t think unions make a difference especially in tough times have been livin’ on Mars or stuck in the shitter these last 28 years since Reagan administered the coup d’gras to the union movement.

So I’m pissed and I ain’t goin quietly and all I ken tell ya fellow patriots is…
