Late Night: BREAKING — Red State Blogger Outs Self as Biologically Programmed Frightening Sex Maniac |
| By: Thers Thursday April 30, 2009 8:00 pm |
Warner Todd Huston, of Red State and other online wingnut petting zoos, makes a tearful confession: he is a Sex Maniac whose “animal passion” is only barely “tempered by society.” And good for Society, or he’d be whipping his dick out at church, on the bus, walking the dog, etc.
Obama and State Secrets: Which Fix is In? |
| By: emptywheel Thursday April 30, 2009 7:10 pm |
Obama says he’s interested in fixing state secrets. I think he’s just trying to get ahead of a bus that is already moving.
Confessions of a SERE Veteran: What It is, and What It Was Not |
| By: Jo Fish Thursday April 30, 2009 6:03 pm |
Earlier today Spencer had a pretty fine piece quoting Malcolm Nance the former SERE instructor about the techniques used at SERE school. I am a graduate of the US Navy’s SERE school, albeit from the early 80s, and the training has changed I am sure since then so I can only speak to the things I know of, anything else is conjecture.

The Woman Behind the New Deal |
| By: Tula Connell Thursday April 30, 2009 1:30 pm |
Help me welcome Kirstin Downey, author of The Woman Behind the New Deal: The Life of Frances Perkins, FDR’s Secretary of Labor and His Moral Conscience. Kirstin will be online this hour.
Imagine this: Former Labor Secretary Elaine Chao witnesses a terrifying spectacle of young women leaping to their deaths from the windows of a burning building where they worked—their only means of escape.
What a Hoot! Bachmann Blunder the Sort I’d Expect Althouse to Make |
| By: Phoenix Woman Thursday April 30, 2009 12:30 pm |
Looks like Michele Bachmann got her esoteric knowledge of tariff law from that renowned institution known as Google University. How do we know this? Because as silly as it is, the “Hoot-Smalley” mistake is not original with her. It first appears in a glowing review by Mark Whittington of Amity Shlaes’ conservative hackwork tome The Forgotten Man:
