More Franken-Coleman: Fix Your Frickin’ Website, Norm!

By: Phoenix Woman Wednesday March 11, 2009 7:05 pm

So I surf on over to The UpTake this afternoon — and this greets me at the front page: “COLEMAN DONOR DATABASE LEAKED. . . AGAIN! Wikileaks.org releases database after Coleman refuses to notify donors – Coleman reps claim database did not leak earlier, despite evidence to contrary” Fix your frickin’ website, Norm!

Franken-Coleman Update: Franken Rests His Case

By: Phoenix Woman Wednesday March 11, 2009 5:20 pm

Franken attorney Marc Elias says that they will provisionally rest today, at least two days ahead of schedule. So why the early rest — especially considering they took one-fifth as many days as the Coleman side did to present their case? Because they think they’re got this sucker locked up.

Hysteria, Nukes, and Iran

By: Phoenix Woman Wednesday March 11, 2009 3:30 pm

The latest wrinkle in the drive for justification of an Israeli attack on Iran: The claim made by Israeli Major General Amos Yadlin, the country’s top military intelligence official, that Iran has completed its mastery of the technology needed to make a nuclear bomb. There’s one small problem — US experts, none of them exactly wimpy hippie peaceniks, are saying that Iran is nowhere near ready to build nuclear weapons: “U.S. National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair and Defense Intelligence Agency Director Lt. Gen. Michael Maples said Tuesday that Iran has only low-enriched uranium — which would need to be refined into highly enriched uranium before it can fuel a warhead. Neither officials said there were indications that refining has occurred.”

The Terrorists You’re Not Told About

By: Phoenix Woman Wednesday March 11, 2009 1:30 pm

The national media has been exercised lately over whether or not some Somali immigrants may have gone back to their homeland or to the Middle East and become suicide bombers. They don’t seem quite as interested in the story of an American multimillionaire Nazi who was using his wealth and connections to build a dirty bomb.

AIG Loses $100 Billion and Counterparties get $50 Billion — Really?

By: masaccio Wednesday March 11, 2009 12:30 pm

AIG is too big to fail but, really, using it to backdoor cash to banks seems like a Bush/Paulson plan, not the plan of the smart new administration.
