Take that, moonbats!
The numbers are in — Rush Limbaugh has won a dramatic victory over the Democrats.
So that must mean Obama’s numbers are in the toilet now, right?
Doh! So that must mean that the Republicans are more popular than ever now, right?
Doh! So it must mean Rush is like way more popular than The One and the Democrats, right?
The slippage in President Obama’s approval ratings since the big fight with Limbaugh is minor compared to depths being experienced by Republican political leaders. And public opinion polls show Limbaugh’s favorable ratings between 19 percent in a March CBS poll and 27 percent in a March Newsweek poll. His audience may have increased but Limbaugh’s standing with the public remains far below ratings for President Obama.
But there is one group of political judges that scored the big fight for Limbaugh – Republicans.
The Gallup Poll reports that since his inauguration the president’s approval rating with Republicans has dropped from 41 percent to 26 percent.
The President is still winning the approval of 91 percent of Democrats and 59 percent of Independent voters.
Doh!
So the drug-addicted draft-dodging sex tourist’s big victory = peeling off 15% of the people who voted against the President in November.
Very dramatic!
Thanks for the laugh, Moonie Times.

Bull-fucking-shit.
Heh. Thank you for the laugh, BT!
perhaps it may be safe to say that the depth of support for Party Chairman LimpBark has increased among those who consider themselves to be wingnuts. Of course, the population of wingnuts may have decreased, but everything is relative.
Well, we needed a little moon music if only to keep us sharp.
Thanks BT. ;->
One of the comments to the WT article sez the 20 million figure usually cited as the size of rush’s audience is a weekly, rather than daily number so to get the daily number you need to divide it by 5 or 4 or however many days the guy is on.
true???? anybody?
Those rethugs are very creative with numbers can’t wait for their April Fools budget coming out tomorrow.
so in other words, among those 5 million, support for him has increased, perhaps from 98% to 99% (the 1-2% being Kos’ oppositional research bloggers)….
Keith said there’s no real way of knowing a radio audience.
Not sure why comments were shut off here: http://firedoglake.com/2009/03…..-giuliani/
But I at least wanted to set the record straight for non-Catholics who were misled or misinformed by that article -
Some of the points are legitimate, some are not. The points involving “W”, the war and the death penalty are not. The Church does not unequivocally oppose the death penalty or war. It does, however, unequivocally oppose abortion, euthanasia and embryonic stem cell research – all of which involve the direct, intentional destruction of *innocent* human life, which is morally wrong in every instance. There have been approximately 50 million abortions since 1973.
True – all who support the killing of the innocent should be held to the same standard. But I can at least somewhat understand why a bishop would be mildly reticent to strongly criticize Republicans (assuming he even knew those individual Repubs supported abortion). As a party, the Republican party officially opposes the culture of death. As a party, the Democrats support it – even in their official platform.
Pope Benedict XVI :
“Not all moral issues have the same moral weight as abortion and euthanasia. For example, if a Catholic were to be at odds with the Holy Father on the application of capital punishment or on the decision to wage war, he would not for that reason be considered unworthy to present himself to receive Holy Communion. While the Church exhorts civil authorities to seek peace, not war, and to exercise discretion and mercy in imposing punishment on criminals, it may still be permissible to take up arms to repel an aggressor or to have recourse to capital punishment. There may be a legitimate diversity of opinion even among Catholics about waging war and applying the death penalty, but not however with regard to abortion and euthanasia.”

They just pulled 20 million out their ass, I guess.
Safe bet that 19-27 percent who approve of Limbaugh are exactly the same mouth-breathing specimens who claimed Bush was doing a great job during the last two years of his presidency.
Would this be ok?
Back to the cesspool.
Namaste
Er, Giuliani and Rice are both pro-choice and I heard no objections.
BTW, the Church is opposed to the death penalty.
Catholic boy here.
But I can at least somewhat understand why a bishop would be mildly reticent to strongly criticize Republicans (assuming he even knew those individual Repubs supported abortion).
i can’t.
Iraq does not pass mustard under the “just war” theory to which the Church subscribes. Since it does not, it is unequivocally opposed – or should have been – by the Church. And I liked the way my parish priest explained it — being pro-life is “womb to tomb,” not just being anti-abortion. Does abortion carry more “moral weight” than war or te death penalty…. I don’t want to get into that. It’s pointless. The point is, as my priest says, pro-life isn’t anti-abortion. there’s more to it.
Ah yes, the party of war and torture, the party of the gun and tobacco lobby is the party of life.
That’s some deep theology.

If the criterion is that the human life be *innocent*, as you have indicated, then how would you have a blanket condemnation against euthanasia, which presumably gets some sinners as well as innocents? And please to explain how waging a voluntary, aggressive war with great enthusiasm does not put the Republicans in the “culture of death” column?
i think he posted the comment for us ill-informed folks (as a service, ya know?) and skipped
How does the church view Israel and its brutality. Cluster bombs, white phosporous.
‘afternoon, all-
When Rush gets more votes than Obama in an election, than I’ll call it a “dramatic victory for Limbaugh.” Until then, this is just bad propaganda. Not even artful.
The modern Republican Party, probably the most pro-war American political party ever, is the standard-bearer for the Culture of Life…you really have to embrace cognitive dissonance as a recreational buzz to wrap your head around that.
Better not to feed the trolls anyhow.
The R.C. church has a deep anti-Jewish strain.
I love it that the Rs are trumpeting Rush as their great leader. Like I loved it when Fred Thompson entered the race. These people are so ludicrous, they help the Rs to dig their hole deeper.
The level of stupid in that made my head hurt. I think I will take two percocets and lie dow for the rest of the week.
Where was that evident during the Israeli rampage? Where is it now during the ongoing blockade?
Yes..the great leader! With any luck, they’ll follow him off the cliff…and we can start building a sane, responsible conservative party in this country…although if you listen to Hannity on the radio, he sounds like he wants to be a kind of fascist Ho Chi Minh…
from the comfort and safety of his studio…
I’m on your side. I was only pointing out that if you asked the pope you might find more antipathy than you’d expect. Of course, the R.C.s probably dislike the Muslims even more. Two religions that think they’re the final word of god.
You’re going to need more than two, Doc!
OK, new audio disc is on my ipod, so I’m off.
In terms of ludicrousness, Limbaugh is worth 10 Thompsons. Yes, yes, GOP, by all means, make him your leader. It’s like when Hitler gave Himmler command of actual troops, and all the Allied commanders wet their pants laughing.
Do not underestimate the Limbaugh listeners. They will not stand having the Nation made into a dictatorship. They are resisting. The Tea Parties are starting. More is coming.
See you later, eCAHN. Soft landings to you.
Yep. And Guderian about wet his pants crying.
Yup, seems so. I don’t know why I bothered anyway, but his post just got my blood-pressure going, you know?
Do not underestimate the Limbaugh listeners.
Is that even possible?
The Moonie Times is giving Ass Limbo way too much credit. Even Limbo has said recently he has 14 million listeners. Limbo thinks that people will think the number represents a daily figure, but really, it’s a weekly number. KO did a segment explaining this and how Limbo’s ratings are the same as KO’s most nights. Bah hahahahahaha! I love it.
When anyone gets as high as Limbaugh gets on drugs. They would euphorically feel like they are over others (even a President).
Limbaugh is just flying at high altitudes without a aircraft.
