OK, I will confess, it doesn’t quite feel like November where I am, but in Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Essex, Greene, Ostego, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties, there is a touch of autumn in the air. As we’ve been discussing here in recent weeks, there was a special election to fill the seat vacated by now-Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, with Scott Murphy trying to hold the seat for the Democrats, and Jim Tedisco trying to get this majority R district back into the other column.

As we reported earlier today, Tedisco has his own case of the jitters. This district should be a cakewalk for a Republican, but Obama and Gillibrand won this district with ample breathing room in November, and the missteps of Tedisco and his national GOP brethren haven’t helped. Indeed, it appears Tedisco is expecting the worst, having filed a motion to prevent his opponent from being certified the winner—and doing so over 11 hours before the polls had closed.

Well, those polls have now closed. You can follow results with the good folks at The Albany Project, or over the Saratogan, you can find some raw numbers. Below, please feel free to add your own reports from on the ground—wherever your ground may be.
