Would you rather be Miss Piggy or Beverly Sills?
Hi, Suz!
Missed the dive.
Bob in HI
DUGG!
You are getting quick Neuro… new connection??
miss piggy fer sure mary mc
It is not a trick question.
A toast to Jim Henson.
Me, too. I just love her pushiness, lack of boundaries, bosom, and voice.
still too cold to dive. i’m still in fleece
her faith and confidence in herself.
Dugg!
I always worry when I see someone wear a dress like Sills was wearing.
1. It’s too long. What happens when the hem gets dirty. Toss it?
2. That off the shoulders business makes me think it might fall down.
Hey hi!
priceless Suz, now That’s Entertainment.
We loved this show, the father related to the two geezers up in the boxes.
What were their names?
and what a wonderful way to introduce little kiddies to teh culture.
i always wanted to wear a lacy white summer dress but know that it is my fate to become an instantaneous dirt magnet the instant it goes on.
No, but I
did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last nighthave been working out at the gym…Being in the pajama brigade I wouldn’t know about that kind of stuff.
Breaking…NYT:
i forget – they were my fav part of the opening – and they were my favs, besides piggy of course
mary, were you ever Miss Piggy for Halloween? I had a friend years ago who played her beautifully. Like you say, supreme confidence.
LOL!!
Not yet. Good idea though.
but the heads of the financial corporations are safe in their jobs (spitting)
‘Evening from the Great Swamp, all-
As Rachel said, back when we were all communists…/s
hey rond – another chamber of commerce day in the swamp?
Well, it’s not like they make anything.
Or are taking hundreds of times the money on offer to Detroit.
I never understood how women wore such dresses for centuries!
Mind you, I love a pretty dress (tea length’s my preference) but MERCY, I can’t believe we had to wait ’till the 20th century to wear pants — and that was not without a battle royale.
Hey! Lsst cold front of the year went through today, about 55 right now. Rainy and windy earlier, but should be beautiful the rest of the week. How’s the coast?
Gee, I missed when it was that the banksters were asked to
GET LOSTresignI know. Obama will have a presser tomorrow morning at 11:00 eastern in the FOYAY.
rained until around noon when the skies parted to a lovely blue with white puffy clouds. just before sunset, the clouds returned and the temps dropped quickly. rain in the forecast.
Yet another word I wish I had invented, much like “craptacular”.
GOP-er History 101.
President Obama firing the head of GM is outrageous meddling in the affairs of business!
President Reagan firing air traffic controllers was the acme of good governence.

I read about Beverly Sills, talking about what she did before a performance. Did she have butterflies?
“Oh no. I eat some empanaditas, I’m fine.” LOL
Okay, now you’ve got me remembering the time a friend and I called the kids together in the quad during lunch in high school. I just had moved to a HS that didn’t allow girls to wear pants from on that did. We got everyone riled up, and the administration buckled before the day was over!
Good ‘ol times!
may I reiterate what Suz said, “Spit!‘
Yeah. That must have been done quietly. /s
jeez, we were close to tornadic here this afternoon.
better than snow so I shouldn’t complain.
I was stationed at Keesler AFB, where the AF ATC school is, when that happened, and a friend of mine in ATC swore up and down that there were ATC students from Keesler landing planes at the Biloxi Airport.
What are empanaditas??
i remember the dress code wars – and finally being able to wear pants – but no jeans. took a year before the no jeans edit was lifted – since the boys had no such limitation.
FOYAY ?
You are a rabble rouser, LH
Shoot, I was not only a dirt magnet, but an attire discipline problem to boot. Punished at school (and then at home, natch) for drawing yellow crayon telephone poles on my blue dress…
Wanted to see if they’d come out green.
organized banksters
It’s perfect, isn’t it? Captures their essence.
i had been kicked outta my high school 2 weeks into my sophmore year and was sent to a different one on the other side of the school district. i learned quickly where the line was and tried not to cross it after that. of course, i did butt my head against it many a time…
Well, I mighta misspelled that.
That’s a shame. Comprehending an abstraction, like mixing colors to make more colors, is a fairly remarkable insight…how old were you at the time, if I may ask?
Did they? That’s important.
Little stuffed pastries.
Loo Hoo, they’re like little turnovers.

Hello to the most polite gentleman on the internets.
Did they come out green?
Foyer?
(had to look up the spelling myself)
Hey {{{Loo Hoo}}}
Oh how yummy sounding. Do you dip them in anything?
Yes. Thanks!
When the Chimpster was there, they pronounced it “foyeehaw!”
Has anyone else had a hard time getting the Bush-as-President frame of reference out of their minds?
hee hee
My age is showing( We got in trouble for wearing kilts and knee sox to high school one day.. First time the school had ever considered skirt length. But they were nice enough about it. Told us it was cute, but a no-go.
Kilts were probably top o the knee length..
Okay, pups, bedtime soon for me.
Thanks for another wonderful Sunday.
And if you missed it, my friend misswildthing had a great Oxdown diary today that I’d like you all to not miss.
jeez:
g’nite teddy
Early grade school – prolly 1st or 2nd. Can’t take credit – think we’d been covering it in an art lesson.
Nope. Much to my disappointment. Prolly should have used water colors..
LOL
BTW, Suzanne, loved the pics of the clammers at your place. Brought back memories of many happy hours clamming on the Sunshine Skyway mudflats when I was a kid.
thanks rond. stephanie and i are talking about getting those knee high boots, a walking stick, and maybe giving it a whirl ourselves. of course, gotta figure out what the rules are and, of course, how to do it (laughing).
i really like the idea of walking out, gathering dinner, fixing it and eating dinner courtesy of netarts bay.
nice diary
go Digg it!
I used to go crabbing in Destin. We went there every year. There were only two places to stay. Silver Beach Motel and the Holiday Inn. Now it looks like Miami.
To do it right you need a ClamGun! Makes quick work of it.
With the gold colored huge safety pins holding the flap together? Me too!
jen used to have a friend in destin and went back there one summer to spend her vacation there and in orlando. she loved it there.
I know clamming in Fl frequently requires one to be in shallow water-and the ironclad rule is: don’t pick your feet up. Shuffle along…if you step on a sting ray, he’ll spike you through the calf, but if you slide up on him, he’ll just wiggle away…
It feels really weird under your feet when they do that.
Sweet dreams, Teddy.
and a bucket. yeah, gotta get all the equipment and then get the nerve up to walk out on the slippery squishy mud.
It was a wonderful place. The sand is as white as salt. Helps the burn.
What a shame! Stresses of climate change?
was just watching PBS’s Nature on the rugged little birdies this week.
Not a lifestyle I’d choose but I guess they know no other.
stingrays! yip – glad the water is too cold for stingrays. hmmm, i guess i’m gonna have to find out what the hazards are when slurping in the mud.
Yeah, and they’re currently making my little neck of the woods look like Orlando. I swear, I’m going to wind up in a little bungalow out in the middle of the Everglades yet…or maybe on a mountainside, down the road from Dr. Dick.
what a way to quash creativity, and at such a young age. bummer, Sunny.
One day a big fat hurricane is going to blow all those high rises right over. Or undermine them.
she’s a sandy beach kinda gal and is adjusting to life in the rainy pacific northwest. she loved her time in hawaii, cancun, and destin.
Well time to see the Wizard! Nite Pups… Happy Clammin Suz!
Loo Hoo, I haven’t had any in 20 years, I really don’t remember. Don’t they look good though?
g’nite nahant – thanks for the link

oh double crap – chs featured this video friday in her muppet blogging. oh i’m so sorry – i’ll update the post with my mea culpa.
Wow, Suzanne! Get calm. Is this anything more than funny?
Don’t make me feel like I ruined yer night.
my apologies for the repeat pups
i just updated this post with my apology. thanks for letting me know mac
Is there someone going to run you in for doublemuppeting ?
it was bound to happen sooner or later – just can’t believe i did a repeat of a muppet (laughing)
laughiing – i wonder what the bail is for that?
Normally there would be a penalty.
However, since Lurk is also responsible for catching it, and did not, it’s catch and release Sunday.
*making mental note*
no more muppett videos for late late nite
As long as you don’t wake up saying that too often, what the hell.
Catch you and Lurk again. G’night.
g’nite mac and thanks for letting me know (seriously, thank you)
nite macaquerman
time for me to exit, stage left pups. g’nite all.
Hey Suzanne, get yer clam shovel ready!
You are in the Gooyduck zone!
No kidding, when I was a kid, folks used to have giant shells in their front yard, big enough to hide yer cat, and yer dog in, inside these things!
nite suz
Drat, I wandered off… clam digging and destin, two of my favorite subjects.
Not often we talk east coast here.
nite pups
Attaturk is upstairs!
Chuckle Hut
wandered off without seeing your farewell. sorry I missed you and hope you had a good one.
