I can’t seem to find the right coat, no matter when I leave the house. Too light (dreamer!) too heavy (dull and heavy as doornails). WHEN can I hang up this down coat?

I made the mistake of wearing flip flops today. I was so hot yesterday afternoon (must have been 85 outside) that I blew it. Had to put on my parka to make up for the cold feet!

Well you already have a bunch of friends here in Central Texas! Gnome and Wangdangdoodle have extra rooms (which I will GLADLY offer!), and I’ve got a sofa bed.

there is always an ebb and flow to traffic, tex. this is spring break this week in oregon – next week is spring break in washington. holidays always impact traffic.

Ah Sister Suzanne, we got one more night in the box so keep those great tunes comin’, toss another log on the fire and let’s keep this a fascist free zone at least until I get ta punch out in the mornin’…anyone who doesn’t think that our economy is in melt-down hasn’t been around healthcare operations lately…they’re startin’ the slow terrorism of the whisper campaign now: “LAYOFFS”. And since we ain’t union these poor kids who have never had a job before and are used ta jest bein told what time it is and where to go to get paid are really feelin’ it. Single moms who have worked their asses off to get a degree and a steady paycheck are all of a sudden lookin at no money for kids cloths or the mortgage for the little house they jest bought a year or two ago.

This depression is gunna leave deeper scars than the last one and I think we’re lookin at a huge permanent homeless underclasss for years to come. The administration and our elected bosses know that we can’t afford to get entirely out of the Middle East ‘cuz we don’t have anyplace ta put another 200,000 able bodied folks anywhere not even in the prison system.

If I hear another “Blue Dog” or “New Democrat” talk about “fiscal responsibility” or “tough choices” like that smarmy shill Himes that was here a few days ago…well, no more Mr. Nice Guy.

Bless yer heart dear, but unless we get a budget this month and a new stimulus in the fall to cover the infrastucture that was taken out in the last stimulus we won’t have any jobs, green er otherwise…I ain’t optimistic about the future because the whiz kid monetorists like Geithner and Summers are not turnin’ the economy from currency to production…we’re gunna be a third world country tolerated by the rest a the world until we renig on our debts and the Chinese get pissed and put us ta work for the World Bank.

Not bad…but we need to put some hair on it.

The meeting today was the first meeting after her rejection of the funds, and the first after backtracking saying she hadn’t really rejected them which is really ”political face-saving” and “damage control.” The meeting, was scheduled on the calendar as an “in person” meeting. It was originally scheduled at the governor’s house, where legislators had recently been invited to breakfast. But the Legislators wanting to “get down to business” requested that it be scheduled in the conference room in the capitol building.

But this morning, the morning of the meeting, Senate President Gary Stevens was informed by Palin aide Gerry Gallagher that she was not in Juneau, and had other things to do like announce Wayne Anthony Ross as Attorney General. He wanted to know would we be willing to meet with staff? We said, politely, no, that we need to meet with governor because we need soemone with authority to make decisions. Palin has made it very clear that none of the staff can speak for her or make decisions. We had gotten as far as we could go with staff. We want to know going in if the governor is going to veto things, and what to expect. We need face time. So, because the gov was not here we declined to meet with staff.

It just keeps getting worse….
