Mornin’, pups.

Am I a socialist?

On most issues I’m a democratic socialist, on other issues I’m a libertarian socialist. I’m a pacifist all of the time.

time to break out my special “God Stationery”….

…which I normally save for use in collecting overdue accounts. works like a charm.

P.S. The trademark/intellectual property negotiations were a bitch. Contrary to popular belief, satan does not in fact have all the lawyers.

I’ve seen Steele on Maher. The guy isn’t bright enough to know when he’s been bitch-slapped….

If there are any (and that’s a big *IF*), they’ve got enough intelligence to go to ground and stay there indefinitely until what’s been controlling their party dies off.

Steele so badly wants to be President Obama. He’ll never win or earn that title. That title is only reserved for those with a functioning brain. See? Steele is out as the next president of the United States! This also excludes Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, Jeb Bush….

Anyone that isn’t a democratic socialist hasn’t been paying much attention over the last 50 years or are delusional or still believe in the myth and fantasy of the “exceptionalism” of all things U.S..

funny, in order for there to be any government at all there must be socialism, the very concept of a monetary system is a social project and IS socialism.

if the only two people on the planet were a man and his wife there would STILL be socialism

Did Cantor pay for tickets to Britney Spears? If so he should ask for a refund. If the clip in the HuffPo piece is indicative of the whole show, what a rip off. Typical Rethug entertainment, I guess.

…multibillion-dollar hedge funds like the Citadel Group and private equity firms like the Carlyle Group or Kohlberg, Kravis & Roberts.

The Carlyle Group? Already I’m beginning to take a kinder view of this Geithner guy. Please. Please. Let us see the inner workings of the Carlyle Group — last ten years of correspondence please.

I think a well functioning two party system is a good idea. Maybe they’ll come back and form a good alternative to the dying Repukes and their far-right base.

We’re seeing some real nuts come out of the woodwork to make a huge brouhaha because Notre Dame will have Obama as its May commencement speaker. None of these nuts seem to be thinking of how they may ruin the commencement experience for the graduates and their families. /rant

Some may have strayed from the party.

A DFH friend reports her fundy brother called and told her to read Matt Taibbi’s Rolling Stone article. Not that it will turn him into a dem, but it sure affected his blind follower mentality.

I think Perris has a good point, what are the Blue Dogs, if not Moderate Republicans? Take a look at Dan Boren’s (”D”-OK) voting record or his ratinigs from the Rightwing groups! I’ll save you the trouble:

In 2006, the nonpartisan environmental group League of Conservation Voters included Boren in its “Dirty Dozen” list, citing his “dismal voting record on issues of environmental importance.”

This record included support for the Energy Policy Act of 2005

Boren also voted in favor of the Threatened and Endangered Species Recovery Act

On July 10, 2007, Boren was one of ten Democrats to vote against a bill to withdraw troops by April 1, 2008.

Boren said he opposed President Obama’s decision to close the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.

On May 15, 2008 Boren was elected to the board of directors of the National Rifle Association. Boren said that he was a lifetime member of the NRA.

On June 10, 2008, Boren announced that he would not endorse the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Barack Obama, but that he would vote for Obama at the party’s convention in August./

I’ve been reading Lincoln Chaffee’s book. It’s not bad, I got it especially to read about Cheney’s “The campaign rhetoric is no longer operative.” chiding.

Well, your first problem there is “seem to be thinking”….because they don’t…..but if they did, they wouldn’t give a sh*t anyway.
