Even though I make it a point to not watch Lou Dobbs whistle the latest emailed right-wing talking point he gets through his dentures, I’m confident he’s been tossing out this one, because he’s spun the same crap before.
OMG, Nancy Pelosi’s been flying all over the place on your dime — when she should be using her broom!
I know you’ll all be shocked to learn, that talking point is once again, not only overblown, but more accurate about her Republican predecessor, who was never criticized about the topic at all.
The documents cover the period from January 2007 to November 2008 and show that Pelosi made the equivalent of 20 round-trips between Washington (Andrews Air Force Base) and San Francisco. That’s an average of less than one round-trip per month. In contrast, former Speaker Hastert traveled home to his Illinois district virtually every weekend and, his former aides tell ABC News, he would almost always travel on military aircraft.
Lies loudly proclaimed and transmitted by a lazy press corps, all shown to be crap — after the lies are reported.
So it’s a day ending in "y".

” The Iraqi journalist who threw shoes at then-President George W. Bush has been jailed for three years, his defense lawyer said on Thursday. “

Good morning Attaturk and thanks for the post.
Dobbs is an asshole. Pure and simple. The only thing that can be said in his defense is that he is a symptom, not the disease. (I suppose if one were to be accurate, it would be called a syndrome, not disease.)
Good morning, Norske. Nice to see you in form. (was lurkin on the LLN)
The phu-gas flamethrower strikes!
Citizen Raven:
Well Brother Raven up for reveille this AM huh? Does that pup run ya out early every mornin’?
Where have ya been…keepin yer blood pressure down doin’ yoga and stayin off the comments?
Whats funny to me about Dobbs is,he trys to seem so outraged at the things that affect the “average person”although I bet this guy dosen’t know how use public transportation.
Citizen bobpine:
And ta think a lotta regular folks used ta listen to these menta paraplegics.
“phu-gas”? Have I done sumpthin ta get on the Raven’s shit list?
Brother Raven, didja happen ta see that Bill Ayers…PROFESSOR William Ayers… made c-span weekend on a vid of an education conference? And not a whimper from the crazies.
Norske, I’ve been lurking for awhile now glad to see you are back. OT! How is your weather up there in the Northern Tundra? Heard you had a little snow the other day. House bound much? I used to watch Dobbs until he got so wacked out over immigration. He has really become a nut case. Actually mos of the MSM are a bunch of nut cases. And you are right LAZY journalists. Well, I really don’t beleive they are Journalists.
Good Morning All
Yea, both critters, the bride and I do a mild 2 miles @ 6:30. I thought the phu-gas was a good play on yer handle. . .especially since few will have a clue.
Good morning, pups. Gail Collins is off, so it’s Cohen and Kristof today. Mr. Cohen, in “Gordon to the Rescue,” says a passionate speech by Gordon Brown, the prime minister of Britain, made it apparent that it’s time for President Obama to inspire, not lecture. (Mr. Cohen watches Jon Stewart…) Mr. Kristof, in “Our Pigs, Our Food, Our Health,” says cases of MRSA, a type of staph infection that is resistant to antibiotics, have raised concerns that agricultural practices in hog farms could be fueling a public health threat.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got banana pancakes today. We may get some rain tomorrow, which will encourage the lettuces I planted the other day to sprout. In a move that is certain to delight teh Sadly Naughts the NYT has hired Ross Douthat to take over from Bloody Billy Kristol. Probably all you will ever need to know about Mr. Douthat can be found here. Have a grand day.
The goobers at Georgia Southern canceled him.
Ready for the drunks?
Mike Gallagher was spouting the same crap yesterday on his radio show. What the WATBs don’t understand is the Sargent of Arms is the one who CHOSE to fly the Speaker of the House, Ms. Nancy, on this jet so she would have a direct flight without layovers. Why? BECAUSE SHE’S SECOND IN LINE TO THE PRESIDENCY and because SHE LIVES IN CALIFORNIA. Fat ass Denny Hastert lived in Illinois, so it was a shorter flight.
By the way Attaturk…..love the photo to this post! Why is it I feel like flicking the end of Dobb’s nose when I look at this picture?
Oh, as ready as I’ll ever be! Our office closes on St. Patrick’s day. The boss learned years ago that it was pointless trying to stay open when 3/4 of the staff called in sick or said their grandmother had died or other equally lame excuses. I was a bit miffed when KO made fun of the greening of the fountain in Forsyth Park, however. Jeez — Chicago dyes a whole freaking river green…!
Thanx for the clarification… you usually get way past me at this time a the mornin’…well, at ANY time I guess…last time I had enough chops ta “phu-gas” I was takin’ the fliers some supplies at Phu Cat.
Jest a little play on words there…ah shit where’s punaise when we need ‘im!
From the “even a blind hog finds an acorn” desk we find some news on the front page of the Savannah Daily Disappointment. Good job.
hell of a fire winding down here in downtown Indy. Smoke and choppers all over the place
Firepup Freedom Fighters:
HEADS UP FDL patriots, this is my baby girl’s 21st birthday…sigh, she’s 21 goin’ on 40 and she’s far too beautiful ta be so smart too!!
May she have the happiest of “coming of age” days! I don’t know as I’d want to be 21 again, though… 1967 was fraught.
21! Is she going out to the bars to celebrate or is she a better kid than I ever was, Norske? LOL
Morning All, Madoff off to court to plead guilty. Question is when he goes home tonight will it be to his luxury apt or to the big house
Are you safely out of range, Jayt? You live in the downtown area, don’t you? My kids and grandkids live in Indy so I know the area (but not the downtown area very well). WTHR has an interesting video.
OT, it looks like the Republicans are going to be able to draw out the Franken-Coleman dual of the titans until May if not later. Every day Franken is not in the Senate the Republicans win. It’s probably not out of the realm of possibility that the Republicans will be successful in having a do over.
Citizen KatinMain:
Oh dear, she’s smart, 21 years old and beautiful…you figure out whether she’s gunna have a couple a legal drinks (and I guarantee she won’t pay for ‘em) then she’s off ta Colorado ta snowboard with ‘er boyfriend for 5 days.
yeah it’s several blocks away from me – sure was a show tho.
WTHR now reporting that the biggest part of the fire was in a (huge) development still under construction and unoccupied. Historical Society Bldg seems to have survived. From what I can see, everything looks to be under control.
So, IIRC, if he pleads guilty, he doesn’t have to say where the money is/went. Interesting option, given that he’ll never see any of it. So, whose access to it is he protecting? His wife’s? Surely she’ll be under surveillance. Who’s involved but not yet implicated?
So, IIRC, if he pleads guilty, he doesn’t have to say where the money is/went.
that would be negotiable I’d guess. If he’s willing to take the full hit and max sentence, there’s no requirement that he tell ‘em anything.
And if that *is* the case, then imo, he becomes both a huge flight risk as well as a suicide waiting to happen.
I bet he goes home today though.
ahh, Good Mornink!

if he gets to go home today I’ll scream.
Awesome! What a good kid. ;-)
If it’s decided to do a new election, don’t you think Coleman has pissed the state off to the point that he will most likely lose in a landslide? I think so.
Good mornink, Elliott!
any new news on the American terrorist?
Grassley puts me right to sleep.
what I don’t understand is why the money is still unaccounted for. If it was a true Ponzi scheme, then he didn’t invest it anywhere, or lose it in the market collapse, right?
So why is following the paper trail a huge problem? (paper trail probably constructed by Ruth Madoff). Sweet penthouse or not, nobody can personally spend $65B.
P.S. As to the going-home aspect, in a more normal situation, he’d enter his plea this morning, and be given a date to show up the begin the interview process required for prep of the pre-sentence investigation. Judge might well stick to that…
Nothing new since February. Can you believe that? I was talking with a friend here in town last night and he said it was mentioned on the news ONCE and they threw in the “materials” (wasn’t explained that it was radioactive materials for a dirty bomb) at the end. He too thinks the MSM has done a disservice to the people by not pushing the issue. I agree.
Are you saying she’s required to use military jets?
Here’s how WCSH 6 reported the incident:
I think the public was in danger (along with Amber) and this is why she killed her husband James!
Swim time….
o.
I’m saying it was the Sargent of Arms who decided what was best for the Speaker since she lives on the other side of the country. If we make this an issue, then we might as well tell President Obama he needs to be flying commercial from now on too.
wow.
I agree about the disservice
Have you noticed the ROM (republican owned media) is making an effort to make it look like the republicans are computer savvy? Recently on MSNBC, the hosts were all giggly with Grassley about him using Twitter. They acted like he was the Twitter King or something! Same with McCain. They’re trying to make him out to be a Cool Democrat. Unfreakingbelievable.
the Republicans aren’t savvy about anything.
And Grassley is going on about how great lower tax rates are for fed revenue, which is bogus.
At this point the goal is not to “win” but to keep Franken out of the Senate for as long as possible.
He’s still mulling over his Presidential run. I had students like him, dumb as a post, and too dumb to know it.
