I have the same concerns, but had one mildly reassuring experience a couple of weeks ago. A friend of mine, who is a political crackpot, talked me into meeting him at a gunshow being held in a vacant Home Depot building. I got there early enough to park and waited in front for him. The were droves of people going in. I’m 66 and could stand to lose a few pounds, but watching those entering, I came away feeling fairly young and lithe.
(We ended up not going in, because he couldn’t find a place to park.)

Here’s what is interesting about the James Cummings murder: HIS WIFE WAS NOT INITIALLY ARRESTED FOR IT.

Two months went by and then out of the blue ’someone’ posted the FBI report on LiveLeak.com showing how Cummings had radioactive material in his possession and how he had instructions on how to make a dirty bomb. As soon as this report came to light, the Bangor Daily News reported on it (no other outlet did) and then James’ wife was arrested for his murder. Some are now thinking that the police/FBI knew this guy was a danger to society, think his wife was a hero, and purposely put the report out for the future jury pool to lean them in support of the wife. Could be!

The call to arms would have been at the time of the 1836 Texas Revolution. In 1861, Houston famously opposed secession, even contemplated instigating another war with Mexico to hold the Union together, and was literally thrown out of office as elected Governor of Texas because he refused to recognize the secession convention. If Norris knew shit from Shinola about history, he wouldn’t refer to Houston for his seditious purposes.
