About Firedoglake
Good morning everyone! I’m not used to the time change today already. I’m feeling very tired having lost an hour of sleep. Coffee isn’t working. ;-)
We turn our clocks forward early on Saturday morning so we have the rest of the day to get used to the idea. It seems to help…
LOL Cute, Marion. ;-)
Morning All. Thank you Elliott.
I’m heartened to see that ABC is fair and balanced, both with the guests and the round table. They have two Democrats, right? Claire McCaskill and Evan Bayh are Democrats, right?
Cokie Roberts and E.J. Dionne are liberals, right?
Well all righty then.
Is this a congressionally modified start for DST. My automatic clock (that is supposed to switch Automatically) did not switch.
yw!
and why yes it is
Morning all…
Thanks I didn’t think to check Wiki. Still groggy = time to make the coffee
A plate of buttermilk pancakes would help.
I’ll relieve you of two of those, please and thank you very much. :-)
Is it gonna be a Boss limpballs all day Sunday?
Elliott -
Didya *have* to mention food? Now I *am* hungry so heading out to find something since I’ve about “eaten out” the frig in plans of leaving next week. See y’all later….
Oops made biscuits & gravy.
Here ya go, with some nice warm maple syrup to go on top.
Apparently so, too bad they can’t book anyone who actually knows anything about economics, our ship is sinking. We are out at sea on the Titanic ignoring all the ice warnings.
mMmm…
Now you tell us . . .
Where’s my coffee? It’s not a good thing if the preacher falls asleep during his own sermon.
OK, here we go– the fake wingnut Christian is going to explain why he opposes stem cell research because he’s “pro-life”.
I wonder how much effort he puts into “the born”
Do you find attendance down on this day each year?
Morning everyone; it’s 39 here in Upstate NY, which is saying something since it is really an hour earlier. Did not really get cold last night; we slept with the windows open. :)
Not down, but there are always a couple of folks who come in late, having realized when they turned on the news that instead of having an hour and ten minutes before they should leave for church, they’ve got ten minutes.
And there is also the occasional person who manages to get to worship without listening to the news at all, and so arrives during the closing hymn.

After a 5,000 mile journey….

” They are all at the Rafah crossing point. All members of the convoy made it, joined by supporters of Viva Palestina who flew out from the UK yesterday.
Sadly, it was not the end of their gruelling journey as they are finding life difficult at the border.
Press TV reports that leaders of the convoy including George Galloway and deputy leader Talat Ali and Nazir are in intense negotiations with the Egyptians. Reports coming to us suggest that they expect every vehicle to be allowed to cross today. “

Har har. One of the benefits of participating in the service is the added pressure of making sure we get the clock changing right.
And, Marion, I reset my clocks about 7 or 8 in the evening, not as early as you, but I also find it helps with the adjustment.
A plate of buttermilk pancakes would help.
Can you believe that there isn’t a single place in the Yellow Pages that delivers those?
Why do the stations like c-span waste our time putting on these reich wing idjuts.
Laurie Anderson knows what the problem is.
Can we get Jon Stewart on Matthew’s show today? Please?
ha
no, but at bob evans you can call and get carry out and wait in your car for it…can go in your jammies if you want. if you tip the girl, she’ll never tell.
i just bought an emergency box of bisquick the other day for emergency pancakes..
(testing edit) and you can get some for the freezer
.
McCain’s on fox news sunday now… yuck
tragic!
cat got your tongue?
a most eXcellent idea
takes me back to when he drove the stake through the heart of Crossfire — which leads me to believe if they asked him he wouldn’t accept.
she does! thanks for the musical interlude to blot out the blatherings of McCain

mornin’.
i couldn’t use it before, but i can nowwww!!
Good morning.
Another great power sleep last night, accompanied by the time change. Halfway thru my coffee and ready for another spring day.
Yesterday’s book salon with Paul McKeough was the best.
For those of you who like talking dirty, Toby’s got a post up on getting into it. And this year we all have to do what we can to produce produce, for ourselves and our food bank.
Hope is a Thing – with Dirt
I flopped around like a flounder last night, couldn’t get comfy no how no way.
I had a hard time sleeping earlier in the week but for the last two nights it seems like I had nine hours of stage IV
lucky you, altho I just snoozed thru Fox Newz
Just an fyi – Bmaz is upstairs..
Good Gawd – Shelby and CofC guy its the unions fault
I’ve been doing that for a few years myself. It does seem to help…however slightly.
This whole DST thing? If someone wants to get up an hour earlier, then they can just get up an hour earlier. Why do they have to drag me into it?
A pox on whomever thought up this mentally-retarded kabuki clock trick in the first place. And our illustrious congress, their wisdom soaring to ever-increasing heights, chose a few years back to extend the thing a few more months. Idiots.
Thanks for keeping us posted on the aid to Gaza convoy. George Galloway is maybe my favorite statesman of all in the world. He puts action to his words; and very strongly. Wish he were ‘ours’.
Link to 05/17/2005 George Galloway as witness before Senate Committee in response to their accusation that he had prsonally profited from the Oil for Food program (Iraq). He so boldly addressed that senate committee as I would like to do. Link is to Part 1 on YouTube.
Yep, that’s Sen. Norm Coleman that is Chairman of that committee who so ill advisedly took on George Galloway. Part 2 on YouTube (link at my #48) gets my vote for the best speech ever in the US Senate! It is cool water for those of us with souls parched for a drink of Truth.
