In keeping with the general theme of rolling back the wasted years of bogus Republican ideology, President Obama’s FEMA pick, Craig Fugate, heralds a return to the days of James Lee Witt, when the Federal Emergency Management Agency was as good as it gets in terms of speed, efficiency and competence.
After seeing the once-proud FEMA devolve into a turkey farm (that is, a place to park otherwise-unemployable political buddies as a reward) under Bush, it’s so nice to see coming back to its former glory. And isn’t it ironic that the Republicans, who whine so much about corruption in government, seem to be its patron saints?

If nothing else, Fugate should have some small understanding of the impact of hurricanes.
isn’t Party Chairman Limpbark’s compound somewhere on the hurricane coast of FL? perhaps Fugate should consider a little oversight on the planning maps….
I bet this will help me sleep better next hurricane season!
God, there was a “turkey farm” in the village of Yongucol, Korea in the 60’s and that ain’t what we parked there!
Geeze, I didn’t mean to kill your thread PW!
Does this mean that Obama will have his third retpub after all
retpub – rethug (how did I do that?)
The NewsHour has a segment n Democrats wanting to investigate the policies of the Bush years. Hell, it isn’t the policies; it’s the crimes. The NewsHour spins as always.
Tweety and Buchanan have been concern trolling that the white house started the spat with Rush Limbaugh and that they now have a tiger by the tail. LOL.
Glad to hear he meets with your approval, PW! I’d not heard of him.
I turned off Tweety in 30 seconds… To cover that crap at this point, much less lead the entire hour with Rush and co. is beyond absurd.
Yeah, and Rush challenged Obama to a debate on his radio show. I guess now Tweety and the dittoheads are going to say Obama chickened out.
Hey, that would be a good name for a band: Tweety and the Dittoheads.
Chicken little.
What tiger?
While I don’t know anything about him, there’s one obvious difference between Fugate and his predecessors – he has relevant experience. Lotus (who lives in FL) wrote highly of him today, so I’d say he’s probably pretty good at disaster preparedness.
Massaccio is upstairs.
