Forget policies, now all the GOP has left is insanity. Worshiping a thrice-married, Orson Welles-Estate-wearing, drug addicted, Dominican prostitute patronizing, butt-pimple service-avoiding, jackass and preemptively and indiscriminately apologizing to him without any reason at all.
King: One more thing. It may be moot now, but RNC Chairman Michael Steele took some shots at Limbaugh and then apologized. What do you make of all of that?
Jindal: Well, I didn’t follow the day’s events. I’m glad he apologized.
So Bobby Jindal doesn’t know why Michael Steele apologized, but the important thing is that he did so.
After two or three days, on top of 20 plus years, I’m more than tired of Rush Limbaugh pathetic act, but if that’s the guy the GOP still wants as its leader, keep up the toadying. There is ample material.
*good times not available for various ethnic and religious groups in Southern Asia, active or reserved members of the American armed forces or certain nations goaded into following along.

Tsk! Tsk! Attaturk……..You must not feel the need to hold back; please tell us what you *really* think!
I’d also like to apologize to Rush Limbaugh.
I’ll try to make it clearer next time. ;-)
Forget policies, now all the GOP has left is insanity.
That pretty well covers it.
I am not now, nor have I ever been a fan of little Katie. Watching her clearly afraid to say anything about the fat drug addled one, reminded me why. No spine at all.
(Hey, Lurk could you send a message up the chain to the site folks that the Book Salon panel has an error. Identifying Sunday as March 7 and 8.)
re policies. guess you didn’t see james baker’s piece in the financial times? the one where he makes sense by challenging obama/summers policy from the left?
http://www.nakedcapitalism.com…..mbies.html
there are problems for the country when the dems move so far right. one of them is that they drive the far right into more extreme batshit crazy territory. and the other is that they stop making any sense themselves (see summers’ economic policy).
fyi – Hearing List for Tuesday, March 3, 2009
Bernanke, Geitherner and Orszag are all testifying before Congress today.
A funny thing happened last night while watching the tube last night,Ed Schultz was on last night and the news flash came on about Steele apologizing to Limbaugh,He and I had that same expression at the same time it was a hysterical moment to hear that even steele had backed down from his comments, about the”wizard of oz.”
Is there anyone in the GOP who will not apologize to Rush, Glen Beck, Lou Dobbs, Malkin, Newt, Bush, Cheney?
Has the entire GOP fallen in line behind Rush? Can we really truthfully tie the GOP to everything Rush says because he is their defacto leader now.
I mean its not like I see any GOPers dissenting…for long that is.
I think Al Franken needs to update his book.
No.
Yes.
Yes.
This has been another edition of SATSQ. *g*
Idiot Mornin Joe is all over Rush like a cheap suit.
http://www.nakedcapitalism.com…..mbies.html
I don’t think that all bank deposits should be covered or the bond market protected. Unless the GOP agrees to military spending cuts over 10%.
Unless the GOP agrees to support Obama 100% in votes and in the press on this because this is a favor to them.
McCain with more homes than he can remember will make how much money if real estate goes up. The economy is so bad beer sales (normally recession proof ) are down so I’m sure Cindy will approve anything that gets the economy going again.
And I want National Healthcare that Michael Moore would approve of.
Whats he saying I gave up cable again?
State the obvious as a question and then see if everyone agrees thats its obvious then move on to the next idea that follows.
Like we might have to start researching what Rush has said about the economy, Iraq, Bush, race, etc and then tie it to what ever issue we are talking about today.
Because Rush is the GOP position unless the GOP starts to follow Morning Joe?
Who while an idiot I don’t think is that hateful. Still Rush has no dead women in his past.
Good morning, pups. It’s Bobo and Herbert today. NEWS FLASH… Bobo is a moderate. Yeah, I didn’t know either, but apparently he is. In “A Moderate Manifesto” he says “we moderates” are going to have to assert ourselves and take a centrist tendency that has been politically feckless and intellectually vapid and turn it into an influential force. Oh, wait… “politically feckless and intellectually vapid.” I guess that does describe Bobo after all… Mr. Herbert writes about “Wars, Endless Wars.” He says the nation as we’ve known it is fading before our very eyes, but we’re still pouring billions of dollars into wars in Afghanistan and Iraq with missions we are still unable to define.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready and I’ve got apple walnut muffins just out of the oven. I also have a big pot of old fashioned oatmeal (not the quick cook stuff) on the stove. I’ve got brown sugar, raisins, chopped dates, chopped walnuts and chocolate chips to add if you like. Me, I just put some butter and salt on it. I want spring to come, and I want it to come NOW. Have a great day.
We cannot give a bank bailout for free to quote Blago we ” got this thing and it’s (expletive) golden,”
I want banks, AIG everyone getting this cash to stop lobbying against any Democratic issue speech is free and you can talk all you want from the unemployment line. Say what you want with your cash, not at the office on its computers, phones etc but at home or in the street.
I want Rush’s owner ClearChannel’s loan looked at ad revenue is down for Clearchannel, Homedepot another Mitt company (he ownes Bain Capital a hedgefund) is suffering from the housing market.
Mitt sold 2 of his four mansions in this realestate market
?
I think that as the Recession goes on longer Mitt will need to give more collateral to the banks. Since the government ownes or soon will own the banks. I think Obama might be Rush’s new boss soon!
Bwahhahahaha!
LMAO Attaturk!
So am I to understand that the new face of the goopers is an obese, drug addicted, viagra driven, loudmouth seditionist? Perfect.
I want salt on my porridge as well.
The same goes for Rupert at Fox ad his Wallstreet journal deal financed on stock as collateral.
I see the new boss employing a lot of fact checkers to work on all of Fox’s shows. Without lies about the issues the GOP just has hate.
Bwahahaha!
LOL Should we say to him, “We’re sorry Rush that George Bush messed up the economy and our nation so bad to the point that you don’t have a clue as to how to fix it, you’re feeling confused, powerless, and useless, and we’re also sorry that you don’t have the guts to say the Democrats have better ideas! It’s gotta be scary for ya man!”?
I love the smell of the new GOP in the morning.
It smells like metabolized Oxycontin.
Michael “You Da
No Longer AMan” Steele is to Rushbo as Juan Williams is to Brit Hume.the bond holders taking a haircut is more than the obama administration is doing – he’s protecting them down completely done the line.
i’m not saying i agree with baker – only that he is making more sense than obama and summers. and that is because what obama and summers are doing is more corporatist than even what baker is advocating. now, i don’t trust him, his motives or anything about him. baker is not a good guy. but it goes to show how far to the right obama and summers are in this.
Who hates dark people and FemiNazis but goes goes to the Dominican Republic one of the poorest nations on earth with a bunch of guys and Viagra.
What could he get there that he couldn’t get in America?
Privacy the kind rich folks in poor countries have no press high fences and armed guards plus a money can really buy you anything economy.
aND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen ThingsComeUndone and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
The problem with this depression we’re in is that there aren’t enough fat cats and con artists jumpin outta windows and offa bridges…what I mean by that is that there will be no end to the depression and no new direction for our national economy until enough of the fat cats feel the squeeze…and as for the bankers gettin’ hundreds of billions to pay lobbyists against the administration and to put the rest in their mattresses instead of loanin’ it out to new startup businesses, well I got an idea: put Tim Geithner and Larry Summers in a homeless shelter until the credit market loosens up, I guaranfuckintee you that we’d see some movement before the week is out.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION AND DON’T LET THE BASTARDS INTO YER YARD!!
p.s. and tax the shit outta the fuckers. Put at least 3 new tax brackets in above $250,000 per year and index every penny of the new receipts to healthcare and new energy businesses.
GOOPER FAMILY VALUES MAN
sounds good to me because right now the fat cats are being bailed out with taxpayer money.
I agree I was thinking more along the lines that we can’t give this to the GOP for free.
If I had my way I’d ask Krugman what his ideal plan would be, him George Soros, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates.
Dem economists and people who made rather than inherited their money. We as Dems need to sell that more.
Gates may or may not be a Dem but working on a new Malaria vaccine when the private sector drug companies would not because there was no money in it says his heart is in the right place.
Insanity can infect the body politic under certain circumstances, like during a depression.
Absolutely. No body should be earning over a million a year and getting taxed less than 40%…. or at least not until the rest of us earn a living wage. No more of this damn minimum wage crap, people should be earning at least a living wage which, in my town, is up to $18.00 an hour, and unless they earn a living wage they should not be taxed at all.
The members of the American Taliban who say that Ass Limbo is their Mascot are going after Michael Steele big time here:
http://steeleforchairman.com/i…..Itemid=126
Michael Steele’s blog at the RNC has now become an Ass Limbo love fest. The wingers have spoken. They’ve chosen their real leader. It’s not Michael Steele either. It’s a big fat cigar-smoking idiot who couldn’t hold a gun during the Vietnam war because he a cyst on his ass!
who pays rush limpballs?
If half everyone on the Lake’s criticism’s of the bank bailout plan are true you might not have to wait long. Timmy and Summers are experts I bet they are all in the market since its their area of expertise.
I wonder if they bought on Margin? The old boy network I am sure is protecting Bain Capital, Rupert and guys like Timmy and Summers and not calling in their loans.
But if the market gets to Great Depression levels the banks will not have a choice.
Stay off the sidewalks and don’t walk in front of banks when that happens.
stiglitz, krugman, galbraith, baker, greenberger, mason, born, black,.. there are a ton of people who have a clue and all of them are being excluded by the summers/obama team.
soros, buffett and gates, on the other hand, can make suggestions but why should they get more of a say than any of us? i’m tired of economic decisions being made for the have-a-lots. oh, and gates can bite me – if his heart was in the right place he wouldn’t have run his business the way he did.
No more of this damn minimum wage crap, people should be earning at least a living wage which, in my town, is up to $18.00 an hour, and unless they earn a living wage they should not be taxed at all.
===================
that would end the depression …asap
Rush is the republican peoples leader not the republicans leader.
We should be focusing our attention on the massive 36-billion-dollar-a-day spending spree that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have embarked on, not to mention the ever expanding government.
Clearchannel owns his radio contract or they got him on most of their radio stations Mitt Romney owns Bain Capital who owns ClearChannel. I do not think a Presidential candidate should own a National Media outlet.
that is one of the reasons i take no pleasure in watching the Rs descend into the batshit crazies.
And their irony continues:
Uh ha. But it’s okay for this republican and others to bash Michael Steele! I love it. Fun watching the right wingers of America putting nooses around each other’s necks and asking, “Can I tighten yours some more after you tighten mine?”.
that would be dean baker. one of the good guys unlike that other baker i mentioned upthread..
See response 35.
Remember the spending spree George Bush took our nation on? At one point it put our debt level close to $12 TRILLION DOLLARS. From what I understand, some of the wingers online are saying that this was okay to do because Bush spent the money…..slowly. Yes, apparently this is what is upsetting you all. President Obama is making your head spin, rather than spending our money behind our backs without us knowing until it’s too late!
Indeed it would. And we have to cap the usury rates on credit cards. The Nation, a couple of weeks ago, had a number of views alternative to the Obama/Bush financier’s opinions as to how to end the depression. Very good reading.
or voting machines
the MONEY behind the great LIAR LUSH is unending and the greater the money the greater the lies…he takes drugs thatallow him to say anything
Hello GOP have you lost your way?
[sniff… sniff….] Do I sense something from under a bridge?
poor thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang
We need academics and people with real world money cred. Soros broke the English pound he knows the world financial markets better than the Bank of England which tried to defend the pound.
Buffet was critical of Bush and told Arnold to raise taxes back when the economy was good. Gates is as big a jerk as any robber barron but like Andrew Carnegie is trying to help others.
I want him to talk about how drug companies should make drugs for diseases poor people get at low cost.
Just a Generally Obstructionist Prevaricator
No fear! It’s just a troll who has come out from under the RNC front porch and is trying to put the blame on the liberals again. See? Nothing new. LOL
Nobody is buying in this economy so government must create demand Keynesian economic Prime the Pump saved us from the Great Depression. Its the tax cuts in the stimulus plan that got me pissed.
just trying to keep the focus on the people and the country. worried that we many not come back from the hole the pres is digging. where are the jobs the money for the people where is it all going???
Smell something under a bridge?
No wait I see Billy Goats getting ready to go Gruff:)
At this point, all that surprises me is that after his preposterous, embarrassing performance last Tuesday evening, Bobby Jindal gets his What Me Worry? mug on television at all (except maybe Comedy Central).
CNN really deserves its bottom-feeding reputation.
Idn’t that one of them ther damnable new sex games the preacher warned us about?
http://www.fool.com/investing/…..world.aspx
I hope Obama’s next Stimulus plan has more cash for infrastructure like China has.
last i checked, gates was all about giving money big pharma (that he had invested in iirc) to buy drugs for poor people.
it was a corporate centered scheme with some benefit to sick people.
if he really cared about drugs being made cheaply, then he would be attacking TRIPS and our fucked up patent laws. now maybe he has started to do that, but when i looked at what he was doing it was a self centered attempt to clean up his image.
Morning!
brr here, but it sure is purty outside.

well said.
i was also pissed off by the wall street bailouts.
but the other spending – on social safety nets, to bail out the states, to create some demand – that’s all good and we need more of it.
LOL Yep! That’s the one. This explains why on Election Day 2008 the parking lot at the porno store a couple towns away was full to capacity! ;-)
I’m thinking you must have come of age since 1980 and never took a history course which dealt with laissez faire, the Great Depression, The New Deal, WWII, etc. It might be reassuring to you if you went back and read something by an actual historian on the period from about 1865 to 1941. Apparently the lessons learned during the Great Depression were like the Greek/Roman knowledge lost during the Dark Ages.
thank you! i did not know about this:
does anyone have more info?
The hole was already dug by George Bush. You don’t see that? Wow. Anyways, what were your thoughts when the Dow was 14,000 points and by the time George Bush left office, the Dow was under 8,000 points? Something tells me you didn’t care and like Sarah Palin want to blame the liberals for EVERYTHING because it’s easier than having to explain yourself and your actions/inactions.
What is not being wasted on tax cuts to the rich people who we are now bailing out is going to go to bridges, roads, green energy etc.
Either we fix our roads, bridges sewer systems, water treatment plants now or it will cost more later.
By insulating schools, libraries, government buildings we create jobs and save tax payers money in the long run.
Green power creates jobs I believe more jobs than the coal industry right now. The fuel is free and clean so asthma, allergies and other breathing troubles should decrease plus cheaper electric power means less oil demand once we get plug in hybrids in 2010?
Less oil demand less cash for Ossama.
If every car was a hybrid Ossama would have to get a job!
There you go again assuming that the goopers think when you know very well that they are incapable of doing so.
Mornin’, bro.
I’ve got just the shelter for them. The city of St Pete has a tent city they can relax in. They’ll get a good taste of how Rethugs treat the homeless in southern cities.
The smell is the pus that drained from a polynidal cyst.
I know! Bad me. *slapping my face*
I just wanted to know what the winger thought when the Dow would plummet 800 points in a day. That’s all. ;-) I see so far I’ve gotten a bunch of crickets chirping in response.
Grant on my blog stated that the Dow under Ronald Reagan got BELOW 2,000 points. Is this true? Anyone have a link about this so I can shove it up the kazoo of a RNC troll? LOL
Mornin’, selise
From what I’ve read it was just a statement to get Congress to look at revamping the entire regulatory system. Haven’t seen any details.
Gross. Been there, done that.
And speaking of the bat-shit crazies, this opinion piece might be interesting to follow as comments come in:
http://www.philly.com/inquirer…..triol.html
remember that congress controls spending and they have been in charge for the past two years and have been dems. so the market is partly the responsibility of congress and the pres of the past.
i also hear about all of this money and i have not heard of anyone getting any. promises promises, so me the money, i want some.
http://www.gatesfoundation.org…..laria.aspx
His market approach might be wrong. Paying money to the drug companies to buy medicine does help his image and the image of the drug companies he invested in.
Looking for cures though that puts light on the fact the drug companies stopped looking for cures for third world disease when Colonialism failed and Europe lost its African Empires.
This shows that the drug companies have neglected the poor to create Viagra for Rush. That one point I thinks helps give us a lot of public support as to why the drug companies need to be regulated.
Drug companies make medicine cure the sick. Who has greater need of medicine the poor or Rush’s limp %&*! Brain Bleach!
Great piece. I would love to see the republic party small enough so we can drown it in a bathtub. With Ass Limbo at the helm, it shouldn’t be hard to do!
thanks. if they have people like greenberger advising, maybe something good will come out of it.
Rush should watch the movie “A Face in the Crowd.” A cautionary tale for all blowhards.
Here’s the history of the Dow Jones Industrial Average
Capitalism is a top down game. All the players see it that way. All work / fixes / stimulus goes to the top, keeping that structure and they believe that the crumbs that drop are all that needs be done for the suckers at the bottom.
You won’t see any change in the approaches to this failed economy because the rational bottom up approached are outside their mental models of economics. Never gonna happen.
Nevermind. Forget what I said about studying a little history. I think it’s over your head. After many days, it will probably be okay. Fretting about it won’t solve anything.
The House can pretty much do what it wants, but it’s the Senate that is the problem. If George Bush didn’t like any of the spending bills or pieces of legislation, he could have vetoed.
By the way, the beginning of the end of our nation was when the republicans controlled the White House, the US House (Denny Hastert Speaker of the House), and the US Senate (Bill Frist). Remember those years? Yeah, yeah, while they were making the Shadow Economy legal and weak, they were busy bringing out Terri Schiavo’s liquefied brain to vote on! Yep, they wasted Aemrican’s time, did their horse & pony show, all the while screwing Americans right up the kazoo!
I’m sure you remember those years, because you watch Fox News and always have. You’re very informed.
*gagging myself with a snow shovel*
if he’s donating research money and the results are not patent protected, that’s good. but i don’t buy it just because it’s on his website. i’m sorry i can’t research it now because there are just too many other things on my plate – what i can tell you is that when i looked into it a few years ago, it did not look good.
off to make coffee and do chores. will be back for bernanke at 10, orszag at 11 and geithner at 12:30
Here’s a little something from Reuters
That the RNC chair apologized to an idiot tells me all I need to know about the Party of No. How long will it be before we see Boner and Granny kowtowing to Limpdick?
Wow! Thanks so much Elliott! I’m going to search online for the trolls now. LOL
I’d just as lief the republics do that for themselves (personally prefer tubs without scum rings) and it looks like they’re heading in that direction. West ho! *G*
Oh, that’s a good one. Watching Andy Griffith’s character implode is so sad. Unfortunately, very human and it happens all too often. Celebrities, but more and more with politicians. Still, a great movie and super character profiles.
A new sport for firepups? Troll hunting. Destroy ‘em with facts and logic. Far out.
LOL Last night on Think Progress one of the exceptionally funny blogger in the comments said that the GOP was spinning around the sink drain but were putting on quite a show before they went down the drain! Love it. I laughed til I cried. ;-)
OMG, here the comment from Think Progress:
LMAO! Exactly Ralph The Wonder Llama!
Andy Griffith brought a bigger than life humanity to the role. Limbaugh has all the humanity of a Goebbels. Few tears will be shed when he meets his justified fate.
I think Katie Couric had it right. Rush is filling a vacuum, stopping the flow down the pipes. All of his noise was the sound made when a drain is clogged. What’s left is floating slowly around above the clog. It’s not pretty. If Rush fails, we hear Ross Perot’s giant sucking sound and the far right disappears.
Puttin’ on a show.
Bills have just been passed construction season starts in the spring.
http://www.sustainablebusiness…..y/id/17767
I hope this answers your questions.
And then there’s Puttin’ On the Ritz
Did you see Andy with Ron Howard in that commercial during the elections? I met him once during an ADR session at a studio, and he was every bit as nice a person as you could imagine.
Have I said today how much Nice means to me? :)
Is that 40 billion in addition to
Also I do not want Nuclear to get any cash Where will we store the waste?
If another Chernoby happens well could we afford it? Can we trust Fema to handle a crisis now I mean Bush has only been out of office for a few months.
Well! *That* was a hoot of a thread. And here I was, thinkin’ only pups had fun. *G*
It’s a Ballroom Blitz!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrBDivsSe3k
The pool scene in “Cocoon” was filmed in a McMansion on Park St in St Pete, halfway between my house and the VA medical center. They were here for almost a month. Hired a bunch of locals as extras and folks could just wander around while they weren’t filming. Howard and the crew were very friendly and gracious. In the 70s when James Garner was doing his PI show they did a lot of crowd scenes in downtown LA and you could just walk up and be part of the crowd. My pool cleaning partner Russell and I used to see them on our route and join the fun. We’re both in some of the episodes. Too funny.
Wherever progressives hang out, it’s always a good time! ;-)
I did see the commercial. It was really cute and nice. Andy Griffith should have made more movies. Always liked “Onionhead” and “No Time for Sargents”.
no snow by me.
one should watch all news stations so they are not tainted by any one station. If you are watching or reading only one news media you have limited your self and can only form the opinion those you are reading. open your mind, read more, watch more and remember competition makes us all better.
Chaves and Castro do not have any competition and they like it that way. I hope that you do not want us to head in that direction of that country.
Sounds like fun. The tv and movie biz, like this site, is such a microcosm of life. All kinds of folks. I happen to be fond of the nice ones. *g*
We have for years. Maybe you should take your own advice instead of watching Fox News and relying on the Freepers over at Free Republic?
My pop and I would watch No Time For Sargents every time it was on. Wish he were here to watch them with. But, sorta glad he’s not having to see what’s happened to the country he served and loved.
We are Billy Goats Now getting Gruff with the facts and logic to snuff trolls
armed with lies from Fox News, just how many books websites etc are their documenting the GOP’s lies.
When the GOP had power the truth did not matter. For the GOP ever to take power again they must either blame us for something that goes horribly wrong like losing 2 wars, the banking crisis, the economy etc.
Or the GOP must tell the truth and win over some of the 70%ers.
I think option 1 is their only hope with Rush leading the GOP. But pinning the Bush record of failure to Obama won’t work for 2 years at least.
And Obama is not likely to make any Bush level failures.
“Onionhead” also starred Walter Matthau. A little gem.
Another hysterical comment on Think Progress last night:
And then someone said Rush is ONE BISCUIT SHY OF 450 POUNDS! LMAO
I have to agree with you. The Left needs to stay open minded or they will fall into the same trap that the Righties have fallen into.
I think Griffith starred in the Broadway production of “No Time for Sargents” as well.
I don’t know that one. Will have to check it out the next time I’m at the video store. Thanks!
I didn’t know he was another sufferer of “Little Man Syndrome”, little referring to his height, not his girth. My mom was 4′11″ and could have kicked his ass in a heartbeat.
I think it’s so cute when liberals cozy up to the neocons, especially after the neocons blamed the liberals for 9/11, blamed us for the current financial mess, blamed us for not winning the Iraq occupation, and blamed us for America being a democracy! Yes, we should be nice to them now because we are definitely to blame and we know it. They were right.
And who wants to bet Ass Limbo also has a muscle car to make up for what he’s lacking? I bet!
Prolly keeps a 44 Magnum in it to make up for his inadequacies.
http://www.dailykos.com/storyo…..201231/262
We should listen to Fox?
Sure with Truck Shocks:)
5,6 tall 450 pounds and he has lost weight? What are his odds for a heart attack? Where is Dr Kirk Murphy when you need him?
http://www.threedognight.com/l_easy.html
Especially people who care about strangers
Who care about evil and social injustice
Do you only care about bleeding crowd
How about a needing friend, we all need a friend
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Rush Limbaugh is to political commentary what professional wrestling is to sports.
Morning pups. It’s really cold this morning. Don’t waste your time on our same old dead-ender troll. We already know the talking points.
ever-expanding government? as in wire-tapping? FISA? CIA destroying tapes? our government trying to govern iraq? since rush is your leader, i would like to know what he had to say about illegal wars and spending and spying on american citizens.
eight years of fascism and the republicans have the unmitigated nerve to talk about spending and size of government. i used to let the repub talking points slide. now i have no problems getting in their face and calling them disingenuous.
