On the same night he was offering the keynote address to the Conservative Political Action Conference, Rush Limbaugh drew criticism from an unlikely source: Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele.
In a little-noticed interview Saturday night, Steele dismissed Limbaugh as an “entertainer” whose show is “incendiary” and “ugly.”
Steele also did some chest-thumping.
Hughley challenged the RNC chairman, asserting that Limbaugh is the GOP’s de facto leader. "No he’s not," Steele responded. "I’m the de facto leader of the Republican Party."
What’s the over/under on how many days it takes Steele to apologize?

Never. No apologies necessary when you can blame the liberal media for misquopting/taking you out of context, etc. Either that or he’ll offer a “clarafication” or “explanation.” No apology.

Would that it were so. The Republicans are far better at opposition than governing, and have demonstrated remarkable party discipline. Irrelevant? I wish. I don’t think these guys are nearly done yet, and I think they are willing to burn down the house rather than let someone else save it: “If we can’t win, nobody’s going to win.” It’s the abusive-spouse paradigm-”If I can’t have her/him, then nobody can.”

Absolutely right and the more that they make statements like Rush and Santorum have, that they hope Obama fails, the more fodder for proving it to a voting majority in 2010 and beyond.

Well the rightwing bloggers are already calling for the resignation of Steele! Malkin, redstate, Atlas Juggs, Capt. Quarters, freepatriot are all up in their Barney the Dinosaur-sized arms about the slights on their fearless leader.
My suspicion is that Steele will be compelled to grovel at the feet of Limabaugh to show he’s just a “Magic Negro”…or perhaps have the shortest tenure of any RNC Chair it recorded history.
