About Firedoglake
It’s just starting to snow here, we probably won’t get more that a couple inches but Philadelphia’s supposed to get 6-10.
And with a tasty plate of scrambled eggs with a little Cooper’s Sharp, some toast, and a glass of cold milk, life is good.
oops! rabbit rabbit.
Morning all, 23 degrees here and dry.
Thanks for the post Elliott. KKKarl vs Katrina Vanden Heuval ought to be very interesting.
I never heard of anyone else saying “Rabbit, rabbit bunny rabbit” on the first except for my mom’s family!
They also walked up the stairs backwards, but I thought these were only customs of capitalists from Rye.
HAs to be the first thing you say to anybody. But, hmmm, walking up the stairs backwards? that’s new to me *s*
Yes, KKKarl v Katrina should be good.
Katrina vanden Heuve, woo hoo! It’s going to be fun watching her kick KKKarl’s ass!
Edward Yingling (Bankerman) should be an interesting interview of excuses
I didn’t hear anyone say Jindal was “too young and inexperienced”.
What I heard was that he was:
depending on your perspective, whiny, shrill, silly wrong, silly and wrong.
Nothing about youth or experience.
Looks like the overall Sunday morning experience does not change any more from Administration to Administration than it does from Congress to Congress.
Off to a southern Wisconsin skill
slopehillgrade variation with the lid.Should be fun.
that would be ‘the kid’
(I miss ‘edit’)
I’d pay to see the WWF match between these two, but they have to wear more than mawashi.
Limbaugh Takes On Gingrich: ‘We’ve Got To Stamp This Out Within This Movement’
sigh, the CSPAN callers are all CPACers
have fun!
Has anybody seen the new “reality show” spinoff of The Colbert Report?
It even has its own mock web site.
*spew*
I got that goofy picture of Jindal up first
ooo show text is working, tho
last November’s election was not a repudiation of conservative “values” -David Keene, WJ
Mornin’, all -
60 Minutes looks interesting…at least the Markopolos part. Who paid to let jindal have a “do-over”?
OMD, it is; it is!!!! We must have been very, very good pups to deserve such a gift. *G*
Rabbit, rabbit? At first, I thought that might be in honor of John Updike.
November’s election was an acknowledgment that conservatives suffer from GCS (Gated Community Syndrome).
Morning
I suspect CBS originally thought it would be a booster piece for Jindal, then hurriedly rewrote it after the speech.
Keene doesn’t know of an economist that says we need higher taxes. These clowns know only two tunes taxes and abortion.
Morning, too
Updike was born around here btw, hometown boy.
Andy Stern will be a welcome change from this dude
Oh, cool. Speaking of RIP, just read that Paul Harvey died. Talk about an icon!
Wabbt, wabbt
Good Morning Elliot
Love the quote one of my favorites
Hello MM
He said many wise things, we should listen.
barbara, my mother always listened to the radio, so his was a regular listen groing up. I can’t say “Page 2!” without that Paul Harvey flair.
and the almost curt “Good Day.”
Oh! PA. Had family in your town for years and years and years. As best I recall, Avenue B, Glenside. Or something. I was never there, though.
Probably very low income housing, were I to guess.
I know exactly where Avenue B is.
Oh, jeez, CNN showing more of Rush.
And speaking of cpac, does that 13yr old brain-washed kid scare the bejeezus out of everyone?
The scarf!!
Andy Stern is talking about private health insurance running health care.
Whose side is he on again?
Also a couple of generations of Kantners (relatives by marriage). Long ago family the Lamprechts. Your state is lovely.
And speaking of lovely, I be getting a big charge out of Limbaugh and Newtie squaring off for bragging rights. Fluffy old white men shootin’ off their mouths, as opposed to slim, brown, youthful Bobby, the voice of reason. Bwahahahahaha!
Oh God.
MTP.
I wish Harold Ford would stop showing up on my TV. what’s he running for?
65 in The City Beautiful
Naw he’s a GOP Plant same as Joe the Plumber a media creation I bet he gets a blog YouTHINKRIGHT or some such.
The kid is an advertising creation to try and get young voters.
Where is Cassy? She should be the one to take him down, or ignore him. I’ll leave it to the front pagers to read his book and decide if a 13 year old really wrote it or just cut a and pasted a bunch of stuff.
Lets see if the kid can handle blogging first though. Lets see if he can write and if its really from a kid.
Sometimes it takes a kid to catch if another kid is being honest with his writing.
I don’t think we adults should get involved unless he gets more success than Joe has.
Does Joe even have a following readers, a platform, a coherent agenda to push besides attacking Obama at GOP events.
*cough* Press guy at some Righty Blog don’t count unless traffic goes up.
where you elliot? my sis in Bucks Co. is only expecting 1-3. i told her 6-10 and she shit
Damn, ABC is the one network here that switched to digital last month. I’ll have to wait for it to hit the web later. Humiliating trolls is fun but watching Katrina taking on Rove will be much better.
Nice sunny warm day yesterday. Today, cold, windy, rainy, dreary, blech. Great excuse to read all day.
I’m hoping it will be something other than jindoll (sic) doing all the talking; otherwise, *click*.
The great Blue Dog alternative to Obama? Michael Steele is the new GOP leader the Blue Dogs felt they needed some color too?
Comment about Jindal I heard on the radio yesterday:
“Dude, you took waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many pain killers.”
At first I thought she had said brain killers. Either one is apropos.
It’s a coastal storm, os the further away from the coast the less you’ll get. SJ is being swiped with 6-10″
Would like to see Katrina V H make a citizens arrest of the Turd Blossom on national TV.
Man, that’s a lot of weed to take on a ski slope.
Joe the whatnow had a booksigning during the CPAC thingy. Was scheduled for three hours. He had a total of eleven people show up and sold all of five books. He left after 55 Minutes.
Whatever he can get
That wasn’t at the CPAC convention but at a Borders in D.C.
oooo, I’ve died and gone….somewhere.
Berks Co
RogerSimon-must.change.channel.
The GOP know they are in danger of loosing a generation of kids who are less racist than we were less worried about gays getting married and who think that a woman should be the one to decide if she is ready to take care of a kid.
Bristol Palin is right Abstinence is a joke. I wonder how long before she comes out in support of birth control its not that big of a leap from her current position.
It took him that long to sign his name 5 times?
Doesn’t have my fave:
I will believe violence will overcome violence when you can convince me that darkness will overcome darkness.
Is this SEIU’s Andy Stern? I trust this guy about as far as I could throw him.
Joe’s and the 13 year old’s book sales are fair game if bulk purchases get them on the Times best seller list.
Sooner or later we need to expose the real numbers all the GOPers sell.
I never once have met a person who read Rush, Ann, O’Reily etc and quoted from their books.
One and the same.
Hi Elliot, I’m diggin’ away like you taught me. (heh, heh)
ABC: Karl Rove, fugitive from Justice (Wish Conyers would fine him $10,000 a day ’til he shows up! (Conyers has the authority to do that). That’d get his fat ‘face’ in there pronto!
NBC: Robert Gates, ….more bombs, more bombs (ex-DIR CIA…they never get out) IMHO, the Dark Side’s slickest.
FOX: Mike Mullen, Chrmn of Joint Chiefs and 2 Repubs…..maybe Obama should think about a new Chrmn???
60 Minutes: Harry Markopolos, the man who should be Secretary of Treasury
Thanks, Elliot, for the line-up; leaves my day free until 60 minutes.
If you meet one start running
I’ve seen cops go after people for missing traffic court and taking them to jail.
We should. Can you see some of the things that come out of the right wing wurlitizer immortalized forever? I can’t.
“An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind. “
Has anyone here met one or am I just lucky? I grew up in GOP central yet I never met one.
Well, if he used *all* his names, it *could* take a while. *g*
Not Gandi but very apropos to our society, particularly today:
Ignorance, and admiration arising from ignorance, are the parents of civil devotion and obedience. Anonymous, 17th century England
Why does CPAC immediately come to mind?
I have never met anyone who has read any of the authors mentioned.
thank you acquarius
any chance it’s someone other than stern?
Sarah can’t handle Katie. Joe lies about how much he makes but is still angry that Obama is giving him a tax cut at the expense of the rich who collapsed the banks.
Culture of life 13 old I bet supports the death penalty. Thinks less government is good doesn’t notice all the war spending and debt Bush left.
Never heard of FDR and how he put people to work to get the economy going his hero is Bill lose a million dollars Bennet?
The GOP has no idea about personal or business fiscal restraint after 8 years they had their shot at being responsible.
Attacking Ossama in Pakistan instead of wasting our time in Iraq was the first clue.
heh, add that to other indications that not too many Repugs can read. /s
If it wasn’t him it was a n outrageously good mask.
Couple weeks ago I happened to ask my Rethug boss what the last book he read was. He couldn’t come up with anything. I asked around the office and it seems that I’m the only reader in the bunch. That’s scary.
SamuelJoe the Plumber (NonUnion) no evidence of going to plumbers school or ever being an apprentice.Hey I fix clogged drains too! I’m a Plumber!
Was Joe the name of someone in the Brady Bunch? Is Samuel to ethnic for the GOP? Did it poll test bad?
Naw if the GOP don’t read much they will never challenge our numbers on the blogs.
Yep, that’s the difference ‘tween The BigUns and The LittleUns.
I’m serious about fining Rove for Contempt of Congress. Saw a big-name lawyer on a citizen’s protest group panel (along with Phillipe Sands) who said that’s what Conyers should do.
well Junior Wallace’s interview with Admiral Mike was just obnoxious. He was poking around for a sore spot to exploit against Obama.
oh and still wants Obama and everyone to bow to “The Surge. The Surge”
But they’re glued to FuxUpNuz and talk radio.
I’m serious too! Ignore a summons the police bring you in and you get held until you make bail. Which I think should be denied in Karl’s case the Congress has already bent backwards to help him.
Reminds me of Colonel Kurtz, “The horror. The horror.”
The 13 yr old is the perfect argument for the fairness doctrine.
If you really want to know an issue reading a newspaper, a book or researching online (more reading) is necessary the GOP can’t send their side out to argue with us and expect them to win that way.
The GOP can’t expect to match our numbers in the blogs if they don’t have anything new to say in the comments besides what was on Fox last night.
Well they can vent their hate but emotions are not policy ideas.
Cassy should get a book deal:)
damn.
i’m going to have to listen to that later today (thanks to the cspan archives). something very strange is going on.
there was a “debate” on democracy now this week, and the guy (from new america foundation, where steve clemmons is) who was arguing for the insurance led health care reform (and against single payer) was either profoundly dishonest or profoundly ignorant.
i’ve been thinking about writing a diary on it. hate to do it because i’m not an expert (and there are real experts, but the dems are shutting them out of the conversation). but outright falsehoods should be challenged.
it almost seems that someone is sending out talking points. i can’t figure where all the nonsense is coming from…
Received my copy of Keynes’ General Theory of Employment… Friday. I’m actually excited about reading it.
Now that you mention it, none of my rethug friends are readers. Cause or effect?
as someone else said, a Jonah Goldberg Mini Me
On the rare occasion I visit one of the uberreichwing blogs I’m amazed at the anger, name calling, etc, and the total absence of any ideas.
HORRORS
Obama’s going to use the Government to solve problems — Mara Liasson
I heard that exchange and it struck me as dishonest. Everything he said could be debunked on the spot.
Oh, because reading requires thinking and a curious mind? You’ve talked about the folks in your office. Scary, yes. Surprising, no.
Gonna practice your flute today?
I signed a petition the other day to Conyers about Rove. In the ‘add your comments’ box I suggested the daily huge fine to Rove be applied. Conyers is no dummy, why
hasn’t he done that long ago?didn’t he do that on Jan 21, 2009.Yep and I continue to discover that I have a tin ear. My dad must have gotten all the musical talent in our gene pool.
The miss information campaign has been in full swing for quite a while. Here in CO we have a bill up in the legislature. Hearings start 3/18. There is quite the popular support but we will see. This sight has some good info and links
http://www.progressnowcolorado…..enson/CQ92
some of the stuff on MA was just, as a matter of fact, untrue. basic stuff too.
amazing.
thank goodness for democracy now! for having someone from pnhp on to rebut him. but there was so much to rebut, he had to pick and choose and not all of it was challenged. living in MA i know from experience some of what the pro-insurance guy said was just untrue.
my republican cousin reads. don’t think that’s it.
thanks! here is MA the battle is not new…. and pnhp is located in boston so we have great resources.
oops. see i am in epu land (new post up) and there is no milk for coffee in the house. must get some…. later all.
Its not that the GOP disagree with our ideas they don’t understand our ideas or to be fair they don’t fully understand their own ideas.
They just need drama some out group to fight. They can’t belong unless somebody can’t belong.
Empathy for everyone is missing was Darwin wrong about man’s evolution? The GOP seems proof that some of us are less than apes.
Apes will help other Apes in trouble if they can. GOPers would say they deserve it and think its unfair that they should have to or want to help others.
Jesus is lost on them.
He read Ann, Rush, O’Reily? Or he just reads?
Facts Smacks when my liberal parents were getting divorced and wanted to fight they always found a pretext.
The anger would just build until it exploded.
it’s their personality disorder, Jesus is lost on them
I saw the prissy Catholic newscaster Raymond Arroyo had David Vitter on wringing their hands over how many have-nots might get a hand-out from the public.
I’m hearing KKKarl v the rest is a “food fight”
Tigers have been fed, now it’s time for the caretaker’s breakfast and a good cuppa. Later
Namaste
Bet not one mention of all the banks getting money.
Namaste
nope
they expressed no dismay over that
The Voters are paying attention ignoring the banks and complaining about people getting help when everyone is feeling the pinch is not going to go unnoticed.
Us vs Them does not work if the boat we are all on is sinking. Because not everyone can afford to be a GOPer or cares more about GOP ideas over survival.
Later Gator…Take good care of yourself too.
((SouthernDragon))
I assume this is about inches of snow vs. babies?
Yes, snow *s*
but I just saw a more ominous update predicting 7 inches here
Well, it will be pretty -and so wonderful quiet.
Oh dear. Not to be a pooper, but it’s clearing up here in Upstate NY – so I’m sure that storm is probably not going to come inland far enough to have an effect up here. Downstate will get hammered and we won’t get any. Happens.
well it’s not like you aren’t usu Siberia on the Susquehanna so I’ll let you skate on this one without too much grumbling and grousing.
Katrina VH to Rove:
“no plan, no clue, no shame”
KKKarl is arguing that the stimulus doesn’t finish paying out until 2019 (?) but all the money is spent in Obama first two months of office WTF?
FWIW, her’s my letter to George Stephanopoulos this morning:
I find it reprehensible that you invite a person such as Karl Rove onto your program to offer his insights and opinions on the state of the nation today. As you know, Rove was hip deep in the Valerie Plame affair and has never offered up any information about his role in that scandal, which did material damage to the intelligence capability of this country, to say nothing of the personal harm to Ms. Plame and Joe Wilson. And this is not to mention that Rove continues to ignore a Congressional subpoena. Finally, I think the bloom is off the rose of his being the sainted guru of Republican politics. Why is he being treated as the god that people once believed him to be? Karl Rove is at the heart of all that was misguided and despicable with the Bush administration.
This man–who said in all sincerity, whether he believed it or not, that Democrats would prefer to give therapy to terrorists–has thumbed his nose at decency ever since he soiled the White House carpets with his feet of clay. You do your viewers a disservice by inviting him onto your program. He should be shunned and vilified, not feted and treated with the respect due to his betters.
nicely done, sir.
she summed him right up there.
see 1970cs *g*
Well done, millerdunwoody! How did you send the letter? e-mail or snail? Can you give us an address? I’ll write and tell him why I stopped watching ABC and will not buy anything advertised on ABC. Your reasons are among mine.
I’m about to cross Charlie Rose off, too. He has Henry Kissinger on too often. History documents that he is a mass murderer, and consideres those not of the elite to be “useless eaters”, i.e., taking food that is rightfully for the elite. Likewise, Zig….Brzenziski..and others.
Might be a good idea just to dispose of my TV, huh? /s
