Last night Barack Obama inspired hope and confidence in the American people in a time of crisis while the GOP sat on their hands and did a collective audition for Mean Girls II. Rising star Bobby Jindal proved himself the Steve Largent of our time.

President Obama laid out the pragmatic need for health care reform in last night’s speech: “This is a cost that now causes a bankruptcy in America every 30 seconds. By the end of the year, it could cause 1.5 million Americans to lose their homes,” Obama said…

What’s on your mind tonight?

Now there was nothing in the body of the email that had anything to do with Barack Obama, so I’m sure the subject line: O’Boy Obama‏ was, you know, inadvertent. It’s just one of those crudely worded teaser email spams like “She loves my big love hose!”… that I also get from Ann Coulter.

If we know nothing else, we know by now that Obama can give a good speech, and he did so again today. There’s a fair bit to like in the speech, in particular I agree with Ed O’Keefe that this was significant:

“We will double this nation’s supply of renewable energy in the next three years,” Obama said.

First there was Bobby Jindal saying he would accept money for expanding unemployment benefits. Now Tennessee governer Phil Breseden is considering turning it down? What is wrong with these people. Do they enjoy hurting people who need help the most? Oh, they’ll take some money, but not money that helps people who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own.

Bobby Jindal attempts to rebut the Not-SOTU without making a complete fool of himself. FAIL.
