Fred Barnes, employed by Bill Kristol to make himself look smart, writes:
Democrats couldn’t hide their self-consciousness about the excesses of their own bill. Supporters made few TV appearances to defend it and rarely talked about specific spending items. Obama sounded like Al Gore on global warming. The more the case for man-made warming falls apart, the more hysterical Gore gets about an imminent catastrophe.

Along with Hugh and Selise I watched Geithner’s testimony before the Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs Committee. It went on for 3 1/2 hours and was remarkably substance free, doubling back over and over again on Catch 22′s.
Notable moments:
When Bunning asked whether our largest banks were insolvent, Geithner said he couldn’t say anything about individual companies because of national economic security.

The Chair of the VA GOP just on-upped Crazy Pete Hoekstra in his Twitter idiocy: He botched an attempt to flip the Senate by tweeting about it first.
