At the so-called “Durban Review Conference” on racism and xenophobia underway in Geneva, Europe again put forward language condemning “all forms of discrimination and all other human rights violations based on sexual orientation.” According to UN Watch, “The Czech Republic on behalf of the E.U., with the support of New Zealand, the United States, Colombia, Chili on behalf of the South American states, the Netherlands, Argentina and a few others, took the floor in support.”

Ian has a great piece up at FDL on the financial sector’s problems, their genesis, and the Obama Administration’s conventional wisdom, status quo, manner of dealing with them. He describes the fallacy of viewing it as a “black swan” event. That is a very rare, random and unpredictable event. We should be similarly concerned about short sidedness with American industry and manufacturing, which are the real foundation of the American economy.
