My overall sense after reading the pool reports and hearing what various people had to say is that reforming Social Security is very much on the table now, but how that gets done — and when — is something that is being negotiated.

Jim Cooper Not Invited to Fiscal Responsibility Summit

Here’s a weird one. Obama agreed to host a “fiscal responsibility summit” because Jim Cooper was pushing for one in December, and it was a way to get Blue Dog support for the stimulus bill.

But when the list of invitees to the summit was released today, no Jim Cooper.

In a nutshell, the indictment alleges that Lawrence Franklin, a DOD/Pentagon official working in Defense Secretary Rumsfeld’s office, passed top-secret information relating to Iran and Iraq to Steve Rosen, AIPAC’s then-policy director, and Keith Weissman, a senior Iran analyst with AIPAC.
