Evening ES
Good Evening ES and everyone
oooh, the new willie – most excellent es
A forest in Sweden… you are going the extra mile, ES.
Good evening..
I think I am in love with First Aid Kit.
Hiya Pups!
Just when I had bare feet last night, dayam, snow tonight!
Katymine! How are you?
No snow here yet, but I have a sneaking suspicion we will see snow on daffodils this year.
Willie and Asleep With The Wheel… great combo. Can’t wait to hear more.
Oh,snow on my favorite flower always makes me sad, I do love them. Clearing here tomorrow!
You know it! The walk home wore me out. /s
Digg Has Been opened!
In his non-state-of-the-union speech, Obama included among his good energies “clean coal,” which is simply an oxymoronic slogan, and not nuclear, which is the world’s major source of begnin energy wrt global warming.
We just watched a German film called “The Counterfeiters.” Wow, so freaking hard to watch.
“…waiting for his drum solo-o…”
I’m up on the Oregon Coast visiting the parents in their new rebuilt house from the fire. On my second series of chemo first week, nausea today but the ginger & meds work. I flew, no issues.
CT last monday showed “some” growth (doctor didn’t have my chart when he called me back)but somehow I took that as good since from Oct-> Dec CT’s the number of nodules had doubled and with increase.
no kidding! that is forking great – and i’m a big aatw fan
Did you see Eliott’s Ox diary? Pelosi and Reid ordered the coal power plant which supplies the capitol with electricity to be replaced with all natural gas.
some growth is a great improvement over doubled in number and size
That is so pretty, ES, the gals in the forest. Not your typical studio!
Counterfeiters
They must be thrilled to be back in their own place. Glad that’s good md. news and I’m glad you specified it was…)
Wow!!!
Coal is worse than petroleum, which is worse than natural gas, which is worse than nuclear, which is worse than wind and/or solar. But, nuclear is the only alternative to coal for the level of power that we now expect.
All the best, katymine. Stay strong and keep up the progress!
So, did anyone hear anything about the “tea party” protests? I had to hunt around to find a Christian Science Monitor article describing “crowd” sizes in various cities ranging from 50 to 300 people, and excuses about how this is significant because “it’s not easy to get conservatives to take to the streets.” I guess they’re all busy watching the feed from CPAC.
Oh, and apparently they’re “vowing to gather tens of thousands of tea bags to be dumped on the floor of the US Congress.” The meaning of which is about as unclear as the objective of these “grassroots protests.”
Would you recommend it?
How’s the parents’ new house, btw?
November 2008 in a forest in Sweden…where is the snow?
I remember the Icehouse in Pasadena in the 60s there stage was for acoustical folk music…
ES you have a similar venue here at the lake with young talent. Did you intend thos to be so?
That does seem like good news!
Great pics of the tea party.
The poop hats are all the rage.
Somebody in comments mentioned they expected a party in Florida today, but no real news.
And 5 of them showed up at Jofus the Plumb bob’s book signing to buy copies.
LOL!
I went hiking in the snow in the hills above our lake this afternoon. It was about 25 or so F. Strider and I didn’t see another human being. Lots of little birds moving around, and rabbit prints in the fresh snow…
Yes! I tried to link the wicki but I’m too old. It is a SHOCKING film, and MrCE and I are still unsettled.
I love the corrida guitar style Willie plays. Just love him and Asleep at the Wheel. Hi all!
Not really, but I too have noticed my proclivity for acoustic music … especially when exploring new musicians on a format like YouTube.
If it catches my fancy, the recording quality is good enough and I think you all might like it… that’s my criteria.
Just checked and netflix has it on demand… might try it when I am shock ready.
Hey, Margot!
Katymine…your in green shock from arid AZ to wet Oregon…nice. Hope all the nodules get gone soon. Good sign your breath is coming easy. A lady here stopped her asthma steroid treatments but was so miserable she quickly resumed and feels great now 85 tabled Dem for 69 years.
katy, it does sound good. Did your tongue improve over the holiday?
Sounds wonderful… rabbits and no wolf or coyote tracks is a sign of a peaceful mountain. Did you have to wear tennis racquet style snow shoes?
Catch the global warming…no snow in Sweden in November?
Hey, isn’t it great to hear the shrill bleats of the out of power GOP-ers lamenting that their salad days are over?
The Angry Right is having a collective shit fit.

Peep Show.
{{{{katymine}}}}
The Oregon coast can be one of the most therapeutic places in the world.
Has Larry Craig offered his services as honorary tea-bag ambassador yet?
-G
I thought that was odd.
See the above peep show.
The deepest snow was about 15 inches. About an inch or recent snow on top of a moderately hard crust. Easy going.
When I lived on Prince William Sound (katymine has visited there), I had huge snowshoes that could have buried any oversize tennis racquet.
Now that the economic cat is out of the MSM bag…there are a lot of well reasoned economic comments…calculated risk…baseline scenario…krugman at the NYT Monday and Friday and many more. The guy on Moyers was saying we have to take the bad assets and recap the banks with our money. Bad idea.
The Obama budget was very good news for progressive agenda. I hope it passes congress. Need more safety net and jobs.
ET, New poll out:
Palin and Huckabee within the margin of error
Parents house – it is the same floor plan but everything inside is brand new. They had wilsonart laminate flooring spanish maple hand scraped wide plank that looks great. Brand new appliances, blinds, and not much furniture so it isn’t stuffed with a lifetime of mementos….. They seem to have accepted it now and really think Dad likes the minimalist look.
Other questions….. tongue and taste back so far, the hair falling out seems to have stopped at the rate it was even last week. The funny thing is my leg hair is pure white from the chemo drug, eyebrows partly white. Waiting to see what happens when my hair grows back in.
I’ve heard that’s a very good picture.
It made me cry. It was so very hard to watch.
Hi Loo Hoo!
Maybe you’ll have the Emmylou Harris look.;)
Margot,
Cold, snowy, NOT spring, fun to be here, missing family.
That’s to die for.
Where are you Christine?
ET you were going in for repairs on your hand. Did that get done ?
Ooh where everyone hates… Cleveland, Ohio.
Someone wanted info on the tea parties….. lots of links in this diary
Sad, Irrelevant People: “Tea Parties” Fizzle
never a good sign when you drive past an intersection near your neighborhood and see a candle-light memorial on the median.
sad.
Christ.
Sorry, that didn’t sound well.
The Adventure Continues:
Imagine having a HAM radio that opens a direct communication with your soul. The only cultural or “religious” issues involved are those you bring to the conversation. I’ve found that the soul will listen to your problems, if you don’t mind it dancing and trying to entice you to forget your troubles and dance along.
Although it was my intuition, I wasn’t really certain that it was my soul I was communicating with, until the overload problem was solved. Now, the more I reach above what was the overload point, the more profound the results of playing the game.
It was really nice to discover that music was the common language.
It is a sad fact that many children die in Phoenix either with pool drowning, toddlers run over in their own driveways and drownings in bathtubs. The pool issue is a big one but the others is just amazing to me who raised three kids…
Just awful.
Always thought it would have to be music or mathematics.
The Lemming Olympics.

Citizen EdwardTeller:
How did thwe surgery go…did they do a tendon release or a repair?
I scheduled it for May 15th. The way things are going, though, I may not be able to afford simple thumb reconstruct surgery that doesn’t require an overnight stay – even with decent insurance.
Of course: The music of the spheres.
Tonya Harding, referee.
Turns out it’s both.
Fractal Geometry. It’s all about waves and how they’re directed. I’m actually doing SETI in reverse. Searching for the inner carrier wave. I’m recording every session, and when I make contact, the folks in this space will find out about it right after I tell the Deaniacs.
You’d be amazed at how close I am. However the fact that I found the Polarity Burst is a definite clue.
It’s great to name stuff you’ve discovered.
it still is…
Somethings are priceless a musician/teacher needs the hand…hope you can find a way to get it fixed right. Good luck after all the good you have done.
my college calculus professor was using fractal calculus to create visual art. As part of my Calc II class we had a section using his program to create art using math. It was fascinating but having a professor who used to work for NASA teach us, used to tease him asking him when he was going to start speaking english…..
Hee hee!
Yeah, and it’s nice to see it quantified. The music gets those rolling waves going and an amazing interaction begins. Like a dolphin and a human in a pool. Very profound.
I finally got my car back from repo land. Now i’m mostly relaxing to some of my favorite tunes out of japan and getting my sanity back. Tired, relieved and otherwise slightly irritated at the company for making it difficult on every step to get the stupid thing back.
Music to soothe the savage beast, or in my case the temperamental music geek with an axe to grind. I get a saturday off to collect myself again and generally chill out.
heading off to bed….. drugs have kicked in and nausea is less…… everyone have a great night and see ya tomorrow……. Nite all
I play with a program called “Fractal Explorer 2.0″ I also love the fractal animations by Jock Cooper.
Congratulations alias
G nite katymine
you can get lost in the fractals, just changing the formula or the math you can get different results. Zoom into a section and becomes like the Men in Black movie with the creatures living in the locker, a whole community. You zoom in again and it another deeper view of the fractal.
US may boycott racism conference
It’ll prolly take a while before the media notices, but during the month of February, this little Deaniac made history. I not only quantified the human smile, but identified something in the heart that humans have felt since the dawn of time, but could rarely put a finger on.
Like that painting in the Sistene Chapel.
Good Night All.
That’s very good news Alias.
Yes and no matter how the fractal seems to move, there is no movement at all. I find that fascinating.
I’m told I am a descendent of one of those painters.
G’ nite AstralT
nite katy, sleep well.
Thanks ES, Sunny.
Its good news after a solid month of nothing but bad. I owe my parents big time because of this bail out i needed. Dad’s back home from the hospital, and for now he’s rehabbing over 6 to 8 weeks. By the end of that they’ll have decided if he’s going to take a medical retirement or not.
I’m just glad he’s home.
I’m just glad he’s home.
That is great news.
Calling it a winters night here…
good night firedogs
ok. and you are mobile again.
yup. Mobile in a job where i kinda need that car. There’s no buses that run that way that are truly inexpensive. A cab would cost more than i make in a day or danged close to it. There’s no intercity rail here of any type, either. Downtown will have some eventually, but that’s still downtown. Not where i work.
I love michigan, but our city sprawl and general setup of even the rural areas sucks. -_-x Hence the need for a car to get anywhere.
AND THEKILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Eureka Springs and the Firepup, Freedom Fighters:
I don’t know if anyone else has had their tinfoil hats heat up in this last week but damned if the mask has come off of the Republican Party…real live facsism and rallyin’ the sans culotte into the streets behind a skin head like Joe the plummer. I heard an interview on Thursday by Thom Heartman with a fascist anti-global warmin’ lobbyist, and Heartman actually got the poor guy to say “The government is not the people”…of course this is right if you are advancing nullification or revolution but to be tryin ta remake the established Republican Party in the streets with thugery and rightwing populism at a time when most of the workin class is unemployed is classic fascism and it’s here folks and it won’t go away if we jest laugh at it…this is all happenin while the beltway patricians are “entertained” by Perle at a big DC clam bake…that’s right Perle gave a rousin’ defense of the Iraq war for oil and the audience of smug beltway pundits and cocktail party regulars described his efforts as “enteraining”.
There is gunna be an effort to overthrow this government and it’s gunna come from the streets in the guise of skinhead racists and from the military who will declare our intension to stay in Iraq and base our incursion into Afgahnistan from there.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!
Chamomile kicked in here……. zzzzzzz
What revolting creeps they have become. I didn’t think they could top themselves, but here it is.
And selling this crap – Palin as party head, Steele as leader, Republican members of Congress trying to pick up the populist mantle – Norske, it would be impossible for a screenwriter to create this.
But while they are trying to find a catchy theme, they are obstructing recovery. They would say they are proud of that, since Obama is taking us down that Socialist path – that will be their justification…
But, Samuel Joe Wurzbacher had his book signing today. 11 people showed up, and 5 people bought his book. Their “Tea Party” thing went flat, and we are told that to the non-involved TV watcher, they appear to be in disarray.
So while we are screwed because they know how to use roadblocks, and Harry Reid is chum, they look like fools. I guess that’s a plus for us. So we make lemonade.
Good morning, pups. It’s Collins and Herbert today. Ms. Collins, in “The Medium is the Soup Commercial,” says movies are awash with product placements, as are sports games and reality shows. In these financial times, will networks take things to a whole new level? Mr. Herbert says it’s “Even Worse for Young Workers,” and that young people who remain unemployed for substantial periods of time will not only find it difficult to make up that ground, but could be lastingly scarred.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got waffles with warm Vermont maple syrup this morning. It looks like we’ve got some weather bearing down on us. I just hope it holds off long enough to let us finish the errands we’ve got to do today. Then after the errands I will have to address the dust bunnies. Well, they’re actually more like dust rhinos now, and I’m worried that one of them will get the cats… Have a great day.
Morning, all..18 and snowing this morning in Upstate New York.Yesterday, we had 44 degrees and it poured with rain.
Ugh. That must make for some nasty ice, no?
Morning all. 15 here to be upper 50s later. Was all kinds of windy yesterday.
well, we’ve had enough warm weather off and on now that the ice is gone and it stopped raining soon enough for the water to be off the roads when it got cold over night. we’re good.
Donna Edwards on Washington Journal NOW.
Michele Malkin up now – yuch
Grab your coffee cups and drag your chairs….Christy is upstairs…
Why is it that these wackos have this presumption of guilt when it comes to anyone accused of “terrorism” and if they are allegedly captured on the “battlefield” how can they be “terrorists”.
