Now that Rick Santelli has become the darling of the right wing, he has, with the help of the usual cast of Malkins, organized "The Chicago Tea Party". Where the conservative swells can gather and proclaim that those "losers" who are in foreclosure can suck it. Because next to de-winging flies and de-legging daddy longlegs what do they enjoy more than laughing and mocking the unfortunate?
Sadly for these misguided ‘teabaggers’, their fellow citizens are NOT a "Nation of Santellis". Rather, the truth is something else entirely. The middle graph is America giving "the teabaggers" the finger (which is, I believe, anatomically possible, though rude).
Of course, Santelli really only got attention from ‘the Villagers‘, where screaming idiocy from a conservative equals something to lead the NBC Nightly News with. Once again, the most common thing in "the Village" are the idiots.
Ultimately, this is all they’ve got. After all the GOP’s favorites for 2012 are Jindal, Barbour and Palin aka Gilligan, the Skipper and Mary Ann all trying to bail out the millionaire and his wife, while blaming "and the rest".

Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber, and Rick Santelli join the tea party.
Mornin’, pups -
Last night was the first time I’ve heard jindal speak…….if he’s the best the rethuglican party has to offer, we are looking at a long Dem-controlled Washington. His response sounded like he was talking to a country of second-graders.
Rachel was so funny afterward when Keith asked what her reaction was to jindal’s presentation…..she said something to the effect that she makes her living talking and she was simply speechless and that’s exactly the way I felt.
He has to sound like that – he’s trying to get the GOP to understand C_O_M_P_L_E_T_E S_E_N_T_E_N_C_E_S. They’re not used to it.
check the urban dictionary for what teabagging is.
Rick and Joe ARE teabaggers.
One man’s Teabag is another man’s Rusty Trombone.
And then there’s the Mexican Cartwheel
Check out Jindal channeling Kenneth from 30 Rock!
Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo and Friedman today. MoDo, who is in Los Angeles, asks: “I Ponied Up for Sheryl Crow?” She wonders why Northern Trust of Chicago, if it’s not solvent, is using her tax dollars to party at a golf tournament. The Moustache of Wisdom, in “Paging Uncle Sam,” says at no time in the last 50 years has America ever felt weaker, and at no time in the last 50 years has the world ever seen America as more important.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got a selection of bagels with cream cheese today. I’ve got to leave early this morning, so I’m going to scramble off and get ready, snickering quietly to myself as I compare President Obama to Bobby Jindal.
was just watching that over at HuffPo – too damn funny
there’s already a FaceBook Group
the good Gov may have trouble outrunning this :D
Since we’re talking Repubs, thought I’d be on-topic and mention Dirty Sanchez.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirty_Sanchez
The talking heads on cnn are having a virtual org @ $m over the number of pols twittering during Obama’s speech last night — this is what passes as important news in corpmedia? :-(
twitter is SO 2008.
LOL. That is perfect. I’m still laughing at Jindal. Awkward with a capital A. Cringe-worthy.
I went over to little green footballs last night to read the comments. They were very critical and some were blaming Michael Steele as well.
i assumed it was intentional
Gilligan’s island-LOL.
I assume the movie star is a Hollywood liberal and the professor and elite intellectual who before his unfortunate boating mishap was trying to foist his liberal/socialist agenda upon impressionable young students so as to create a new generation of socialists.
you guys saw Jindal?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
I mean…. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
I said from the moment I saw santelli, he was their real deal palin, their real deal joe the not a plumber
he wasn’t manufactured, what he did in that interview was real for him
jundal did so bad they might use santelli next time around
from the momeny he pranced his entrance, and it went downhill from there
Good morning everyone! I woke up this morning feeling so fresh and new after President Obama’s speech last night.
Has anyone heard from the right wing this morning? Makes you wonder if they’re all on suicide watch today!
I hate to say it but it looked like he was channeling al gore
local paper headline is “Obama: We will Emerge Stronger”. or something like that. Anyway, it accentuated the positive aspects of his speech. As opposed to “Obama: It’s Going To Get Worse” Or something like that. I was happy to see it.
even the new york post’s headline was pretty good, they usually go after anything democrat
Adn when his daddy spoke to him daddy called him Bobby? That’s not his name. His daddy called him Bobby rather than his given funny, foreign, non-Christian sounding, un-’mercun name? Hmmm. Somebody needs to look into this. pronto.
go to think progress, the entire fox team was embarrassed out of their wits
lemme check it out. Did they call him Bam?
From the moment he appeared with that child-like stride, he was doomed. Awful, just awful.
I’m sure you’ve all seen that Matthews uttered ‘Oh God’ when he walked out.
i dunno. the online headline is “Day of Rekoning”. Sounds kinda gloomy.
There’s a diary at DKos saying that his Katrina/boat/sheriff story is a lie.
i see they’re calling him O now. last time I read that paper the referred to Obama as Bam.
here’s the link from cousin TBogg (scroll down for vid) – you have to sit through a heavily edited 60 sec of Jindal before the fun begins :D
Republicans have always talked down to the people. Obama spoke to the people, adult to adult. How refreshing. The Republicans got nothin, but their usual smoke and mirrors. RIP GOP.
I had that feeling. he was so obviously trying to rip off Obama’s life story. what a pathetic performamnce. palin should be doing a response one of these days.
did not know Matthews said that. Even before the speech he said about Jidal “This guy does not impress me one bit.” About Obama? “He’s always right.” Good job, Chris.
Slept through the live but caught the rerun……HAHAHA doesn’t even come close. *G*
Was catching up on the live blog threads over at the Great Orange and there seemed to be several different takes on who said “OMG” just prior to his entrance…..have you heard a definitive answer to that question?
I agree. I didn’t think it was as optimistic as it could have been. All it would have taken is for him to use his rhetoric to say we’ve faced bigger problems before and we’ve survived.
We’ve had 8yrs of failure after failure, we’ve been beaten down and no longer believe we’re capable of greatness. He needs to use all his oratory skills to remind us of our history of prevailing.
santelli is going to do one, maybe not this sotu but he will do their response on something, this is my prediction
Couric refferred to Joe The Biden as “the white guy”?? I guess it wasn’t mean or anything. Just a shitty attempt at humor. But hey, katie, youi get a pass this time but watch it. Nobody fucks with Joe.
Are you sure for positive that came from tweety? It *does* sound like something he would do. When Rachel was speechless last night, tweety, of course, was not……tho’ his response sounded garbled (or pre-prepared) to me.
I’m watching FoxNews. They just showed Jindal’s walk-on but they blurred it a bit or scrambled it and seemed to darken it so that you couldn’t see how awkwardly his arms hung as he walked in.
No. Not absolutely sure who uttered it.
I had the sound off and was watching the captioning and they didn’t put “Oh God” up so I can’t give you my take. Comments at Huffington say “clearly Matthews” and “definitely Olbermann” and are split. I don’t think we have an answer.
It will be quite a kick to watch Santelli and the others have a “tea party.” I assume the hired help will actually dump the tea leaves overboard while Santelli and company cheer and congratulate themselves on their self reliance.
we have Bunning saying “I don’t believe anything John Cornyn says” ??? Love it.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/…..69690.html
Yes, I know that. What I want, though is a speech akin to his 1st appearance at the Dem convention. One that is rousing. One that lifts the spirits. A speech that is so inspiring that we begin to believe in ourselves again.
Above is a reply to cbl2.
A little study of the ACTUAL SITUATION goes a long way. What Santelli and others fail to grasp is that the pending ALT-A crisis (including highly qualified buyers – many of whom make over $250K per year), are the next wave of foreclosures and outright walk-aways.
Listen to this – from a year ago…the guy NAILS IT:
Mr Mortgage – HERE COMES THE ALT-A CRISIS

The class warfare that the GOP is attempting to instigate is against THEIR OWN. When their rich GOP pals start walking away from their homes because they are so far under water, what will Rick say then?
According to Mr. T. Bogg, despite all of the media overcoverage and the pimping of Malkin herself, the ol’ Teaparty only has 2850 teabaggers at this point.
Another epic fail.
Maybe I’m wrong to pick nits, but……one thing that got my attention was (paraphrasing) “This isn’t about heloping banks; it’s about helping people.” Hope so. We’re all watching. We’ll see. Don’t get me wrong. It ws a great night, he did a great job. In the time before the speech when the cabinet, Supreme Court, etc were being intruduced an led in and when Obama first appeared I got the same feeling i had on Inauguration Day. Great feeling and he didn’t disappoint.
Dear little Bobby adopted that name all on his own. He fancied himself sort of like the “Bobby” from the Brady Bunch. His legal name was and still is Piyush.
So, his daddy has never called him Bobby. He only calls himself that.
Since his parents are devout Hindus and Democrats, and progressive activists, his ‘conversion’ to Catholicism, Republicanism, and conservativism must be quite a disappointment.
Bah hahahahahaha! Just read it. Fox News & Little Green Footballs were both in the same boat. Honestly, I am surprised at how honest they were.
Huffington Post poll has KO ahead of Matthews as the Oh God person 34-31% (camara man and a producer got the other votes). for whetver, it’s worth. if anything
There’s nothing “conservative” about the Republican agenda. Dragging us into two wars and destroying our financial system are RADICAL CONCEPTS.
Welcome to “Opposite World,” where “discernible reality” is intentionally hidden from view by the mainstream media, who continue to insist that up is down, black is white, war is peace, etc.
Those responsible for this ruse have hidden their names from public view:
Media ownership study ordered destroyed
Sept 14, 2006
‘Every last piece’ destroyed
Adam Candeub, now a law professor at Michigan State University, said senior managers at the agency ordered that “every last piece” of the report be destroyed. “The whole project was just stopped – end of discussion,” he said. Candeub was a lawyer in the FCC’s Media Bureau at the time the report was written and communicated frequently with its authors, he said.

“Thou shalt not Connect The Dots!”
except for them being Hindu, i didn’t know the other stuff about his parents. interesting. oh yeah. and i knew he gave himself the name bobby. heard about the Brady Bunch connection. Is that for real?
that’s not picking nits – hell, I stopped the tivo when he mentioned “clean coal”
And . . . I think it is sometimes difficult for us here to be mindful we are all up in the m…f… as the kids say. last night wasn’t for us, it was for a nation where the majority of folks still get their 4-1-1 from the likes of Couric (oh dear). in that sense I think he went a long way to realistically reassure . I noticed the lines didn’t budge from the top when he spoke of “a day of reckoning” – he treated his audience as grown ups and they responded in kind
I thought it was Keith Olbermann who said, “OMG” when Jindal came around the corner. As soon as I heard it I laughed to myself because whoever said it was reflecting exactly what I was thinking.
yup
I’ve been telling everyone around here, those people who refinanced and are now upside down because of the bubble burst have no reason to keep their home
none, I even told my dad this years ago, he’’s completely paid off and I told him “refinance, then when the bubble burts you’ll have far more cash then they house is worth”
to which he told me I was crazy to take out a loan just to pay the loan but there it is
those people are high – it is clearly Matthews and I’m willing to bet some techno geek has already run it through an imprinter and matched it to Tweety – BayStateLiberal … come on down !
There’s a new show on WMNF Tuesday mornings 1-4. I haven’t listened to the whole thing yet but the intro is to die for. Hopefully they’ll have the show on the regular schedule so we can listen to the archive so for now you’ll have to go here to hear the show. Overnight Underground is the name of the show. One of the hosts is Samm Simpson, who ran against Bill Young in 06 and 08.
they’ll rally around the guy soon, i think. mauybe starting today. i remember after the first Bush-Kerry debate the FOX panel was almost in shock “Holy shit! Bush sucked!” Every debate after that he was the “clear winner” “scored a knockout” or such other bullshit. you’ll p[robably start hearing how the liberal media is beating up on the poor guy.
I bailed out of real estate in mid-2003, been renting ever since. Have not paid any property taxes, wind or flood insurance since, all of which is simply burned money. People have no problem ridiculing rent as “wasted money,” while paying the above “place-holder-costs” to own in a market that is going backwards at an accelerating clip. When I owed my most recent home, I made 50% in 2.5 years (2000 – 2003). Paying taxes, insurance, upkeep etc. in a market like that makes infinite sense. In this market, millions will opt to get “off the tax grid” and revert to renting as the wisest use of capital.
Walking away is going to become a far bigger problem – at EVERY demographic/income level.

Swear to God. not making that up.
Took them all night to discover the automobile wasn’t invented here?

That’s the best Fox can come up with?
I commmented seconds after he said it

bonkers passed up a wonderful opportunity to coin the term “Dirty Santelli”. It’s the Dirty Santelli teabagging party!
