Poor George Will. It happened again.
Engrossed in his own pontificating, watch as he triumphantly punctuates his Very Important Insight Of The Day with professorial hand gestures and his "I’m. Smarter. Than You." cadence. You can feel the self-satisfaction, the preening. "I just got that fancy pants Roubini to nod approvingly!"
Then Professor Krugman brings the hammer.
Schools him like a sophomore. Waves off his objection.
Keep it up, Paul. It’s only a matter of time before he cracks.

ZED!?
Driftglass explains how Corporal Cueball did the Queen of Hearts trick with Novak, thus setting him off Laurence-Harvey-fashion.
Krugey, bring a card deck to MTP next time you face George Will!
George Will my favorite Conservative I just love to hate and throw things at when he is on the boob toob (rolled up socks as I have a brand new LCD High def)
Wills is an idiot to even try to speak about economics with Krugman in the room. He might learn something if he listened – might, I said.
ya mean falling in the shower, when he bent over to pick up the soap…..g
Digg It Pups so all of Netopia can watch as George is put in his place!
This Week was unusual today because normally there are 5 people at the table and 4 of them are conservatives.
WAAA. I can’t see the video.
Okay. Now I can watch. Thanks!
Probably like Groundhog Day, now we’ll have six weeks of conservatives only.

Worst. Actress. Ever.
OT-Senator Shelby wonders whether Obama is an American citizen.
Shelby hasn’t seen my birth certificate either, maybe I’m not American.
Well if Shelby wants to see the evidence ship his dummy ass off to Hawaii, by boat, row boat.
Unless I’m mistaken, pushing Novak’s buttons back in ‘05 was the last useful thing Carville did.
Disgusting. Shelby is so gullible – Hawaii is not a state – why it’s all by itself out there in the middle of an ocean – can’t be a state.
Fools!
I love Krugman’s “I don’t agree with that” preamble.
Will has never suffered such effrontery.
You’re right it is one of those exotic places.
The truth will never stop Republics from bringing up the citizenship issue. It’s all they have. They certainly don’t want to work to fix the economic problems they alone created.
Gotta love Krugman for illuminating just how stupid the republics really are.
George Will doesn’t listen to anything but the voices inside his head that keep repeating how wonderful everything (allegedly) was under Ronnie Ray Gun.
When is someone going to bitch-slap him over his lies about global warming?
No one at the Washington Post is prepared to do so. I propose a Citizen’s Public Humiliation be arranged.
What a marked difference in style, Will states his opinions as if the were incontrovertible facts. Krugman prefaces his response with, “I don’t agree with that,” leaving room for perspectives other than his own.
i love his fashion
George Will tries so hard to make himself appear smarter than every one else ,his writings are often confusing and make little sense
Republics approach their party as if it was a religion. There is a dogma that must never be questioned. Krugman may have schooled Will, but the Republic faithful will find reasons to hate Krugman rather than think about what he said.
yes ,and who is the nobel laureate hehehe
Sunday Morning Gabfests – Plugged In Or Plugged Up?
it’s not always easy to twist facts to match your political dogma.
George Will is an incredibly stupid man masquerading — for a long time — as a smarty-pants, mostly through diction, tone, expression, and tie choice. Very little of what he says makes sense, but until Krugman started to appear alongside him, no This Weeker challenged Will’s pronouncements.
He won’t last long in this environment; he’ll flee to the WaPo editorial page, the Hiatt hothouse where he is neither challenged nor corrected.
And Richard Shelby owes the President of the United States an apology. In a time of war, it’s treason to be questioning the President’s citizenship.
It’s fun watching the Bushbots trying to defend what George Bush did and then trying to find an excuse to defend him even after knowing how bad the fallout has been! Sad and pathetic. Good thing there was a Big Brain on the panel like Krugman to set ‘em all straight!
Earth to Will, Earth to Will, Come in Will. Earth has passed you by.

Another painful pathetic Bushbot in action!
when you can’t convince people your arguments are sound ,confuse the hell out of them instead
I agree with that , just think Sarah Palin
i.e. When you can’t dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with BS
What a wonderful description. The problem with Will and so many in the punditocracy is that their ideas are so old they creak.
George Will has had a LOT of practice being an idiot. Talking to all the stuffed animals in his office and at home…Amazing…They never disagree with him…huumm..
Bring it Paul – These jerks are CLUE-FREE when real economics are involved at a higher level than basic 2+2=5 stuff…It’s SO much fun watching these drooling fools when explanation of reality wounds them mortality ….
do i have to…{frowns}
ya just have to hope he invested with Madoff,or the wannabeeeeeees…..hahahahaha

That was beautiful on Krugman’s part. While it’s nice to see Will revealed as a boobocon, the poigancy is that we don’t yet have a forum for an intelligent discussion/debate and I’ll bet we see Will next week, not Krugman. Great to see Roubini as well.
Triggers the gag reflex.
If ya can’t dazzle ‘em with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit.
Well, damn, I should have read further down. I owes ya a drink.
Single malt, please
Neat
It’s funny how e-cons like Roubini,Stiglitz & Edmund Phelps were all on trad-media shows today.During Bush’s rape of the economy these folks weren’t even mentioned by Trad- media.Their voices didn’t exist. But funny how the trad media in an attempt to project criticisms on Obama’s econ-stim plan are now giving these famous e-con minds air-time.What a media!
Will is so conceited and over-bearing, it’s a wonder anyone will have any kind of conversation with him.
Point 1) Paul Krugman forgot more about economics before he had his coffee this morning than George Will ever knew. If Will was smart he’d sit there and take notes when Roubini and Krugman are talking, maybe raise his hand to ask a question once in a while.
Point 2) George Will is a ridiculous anachronism. A crusty relic of an 80’s-era Reaganism that has been totally discredited.
The guy has been 100% wrong about pretty much everything (Iraq and the economy being only his latest epic failures) for so long that his solemn, bow-tied “opinions” should be considered punch-lines.
If he ever mattered he sure as hell doesn’t in 2009. Let’s put it this way: when the cover of freakin’ Newsweek exclaims “We’re All Socialists Now”, it’s time to put George Will out to pasture.
I think Will missed his Milankovich Cycle.
Will keeps quoting the work of the Imbrie’s about their 1975-80 work on climatic cycles. Of course, he always removes their important caveat about “ignoring human effects” (or anthropogenic factors)…that we would be going through a global cooling phase today. If Will was a graduate student or scholar that pulled this sort of crap they’d be up for ethical violations. You can’t cut-and-paste a conclusion to seriously distort its meaning.
Most climatologists agree with the Imbrie’s and say that the observed, empirical evidence of global warming suggests strongly that human activity IS the cause of the significant temperature increases we are seeing.
The parallel would be that all other things being equal the wind and currents should take you West. But you are going East. That might suggest you have a motor on your boat!
Isn’t that guy down on the right George Will (or maybe his Papa)…still singing the chorus of Hooverism despite the crash of the Stock Markets just a week or two before.
Gotta admit, though, those guys do look sort of worried. Reality is a hard teacher.
Speaking of Novak, is he still not in jail for running into a bicyclist?
What of Ms. Coulter, is she still not in jail for voter fraud?
How about the Plame Four who disclosed classified information?
Is Rush Limbaugh still on drugs?
How’s Tom Delay delaying his jail sentence?
Is Bernie Madoff getting off or in jail?
Is there any justice in America?
Wills comes from a very provincial Illinois town. Probably didn’t get the benefit of a good education, unlike Krugman, who is from Brooklyn.
This is a movement I can get behind…Citizen’s Public Humiliation and Public Shunning…how can it be enacted?
