Eric Holder made a speech, for Black History Month, asking for people to speak maturely and respectfully to one another and not let race be such an impediment.
Rush Limbaugh, called Holder’s comments “inexcusable” on his syndicated radio program
Which really means something considering in same program Limbaugh compared the psychology of Democrats to that of rapists and murderers.
FoxNews displayed the kind of maturity one would expect, by showing us what their brand journalism is all about, possibly (it’s in dispute) ending with John Gibson comparing Holder not only to a monkey, but to its "bright blue scrotum".
Meanwhile, Rupert’s other property the NY Post apologized to anyone who may have thought it was comparing Obama to a monkey and shooting him — except, of course, those who most loudly complained. "Those people", apparently, need to learn their place.
One caller to a conservative talk-show summed things up perfectly:
“Most white people I know have black friends,” another complained. “How many white friends do black people you know have? That’s the problem.”
Yeah, good use of logic there genius! Care to contemplate that statement a tad more?
Have fun Michael Steele.

that would be like asking water if it cared to be dry
he will never see how idiotic his statement is, never
Two electrical engineers talking on the job. Overheard one say, “Limbaugh? He’s too extreme.” I never thought I’d hear it from that guy. Never.
They’re losing it all. Fun to watch, hope it isn’t too messy.
in the last weeks of the bush nightmare rush limbaugh enjoyed as much vile hatred as bush himself
pols demonstrated bush was only slightly more reviled in america then rush
rush had become a non player, hated by democrats and republicans alike, as a matter of fact rush is one of the reasons rush lost a good portion of the “reagan democrats”
he needed to become front and center otherwise he would lose contracts, stations and endorsements
so he became a cartoon of himself, he marketed his brand, became more outrageous and it has certainly worked
he is now the default head of the rnc, he is in the news just about every day and he now doesn’t have to worry about his next contract
Good morning, pups. It’s Bobo and Krugman today. Bobo babbles about “Money for Idiots,” and says the nation’s economy is an interwoven context that we all share. To stabilize this communal landscape, sometimes you have to give money to those who have been foolish. Mr. Krugman, in “Who’ll Stop the Pain?” says the Obama administration’s policy initiatives will help in this difficult period — but they are intended to mitigate the slump, not end it. No doubt this recession will pass — but how, and when?
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got banana pancakes this morning. Thank heaven it’s Friday. And payday. Of course, to offset that the cold I picked up earlier this week seems to be gathering steam and should be ready to ruin my weekend… [snarl] Have a lovely day.
NY Post deserves boycotting. Surreal degree of racism in that vile cartoon.
Lack of accountability. The fact that the cartoon made it to publication… the fact that that vile song about Obama had been circulated and reported on without the disgust and outrage it deserved. The fact that Palin enflamed racism among her followers during her campaign and is still heralded as leadership potential.
And apologists for that cartoon cannot differentiate between snark when Bush is caricatured as a chimp and racism when Obama is. Exponential obtuseness of partisanship along with the exponential malice of racism.
Good Morning, I’ve been missing breakfast with you…sure sounds good this morning. Thanks. How are you?
I have said this before and I will say it again,I am so tired of seeing these same talking heads I don’t know what to do.Mr “I talk with my hands buchanan”is really irratating.
Bah hahahahahahaha! The neocon caller thinks that if whites & blacks are friends only the white part of the equation can say they’re friends with blacks!
What an ass. And we wonder why we keep asking online that we want better and more educated trolls! I’m starting to believe that kind of troll doesn’t exist.
Doing well, despite the icky cold. Just finished helping to create a Palm Sunday liturgy for a new Celtic Eucharist our parish started that’s attracting lots of non-Episcopalians, so a less “fussy” approach was called for. How has life been treating you?
Ass Limbo seemed a little nervous talking about the UBS whistleblowers on his show recently. He did say he didn’t have any of his money in a Swiss Bank, but the question was never asked by the staff, “Where are you keeping your $50 million a year salary then?”.
oh man! That would be too good to be true!
good morning all
I didn’t see racism when I first saw that cartoon. I thought it was offensive since they were talking about shooting Obama as a solution but I didn’t see racism. But the apology is as offensive as the cartoon.
Wish I could boycott them (and Rush and FoxNews) but since I’ve never purchased that paper, I don’t think they’d notice.
“Most white people I know have black friends,” another complained. “How many white friends do black people you know have? That’s the problem.”
This is what I would call typical conservative pretzel logic !

Doing pretty well; spring keeps peeping through with warm days then a cold spot. A friend is sending me a New Orleans King Cake so I can take serious notice of Mardi Gras!! Your worship plan sounds very interesting. Maybe there is a way for you to post some of it. Good to see you!
A Modest Proposal™
If the Netanyahu- Avi Lieberman government in Israel
forces all Israeli Arabs to sign a loyalty oath, then the US
should force all American Jews to sign one as well.
Starting with people with the last name of Lieberman.
Since collective punishment now seems to be OK.
Here’s my gripe this morning. (Seems I start everyday ticked off.) I’ve always been amazed that KO and Rachel seem to broadcast in a vacuum. They criticize this or that, they have great interviews, KO rants against the idiocy…..and then it’s over. Never mentioned again by any other news organization. But let someone rant against Obama and suddenly it’s big news. Replayed everywhere. I’m speaking of the CNBC host who went off yesterday. His rant is suddenly BIG news. Why have none of KO’s rants been replayed for all to hear?
so that stock exchange guy has become a media hero guys, he is all over the radio this morning
this “joe the stock exchange” guy they have is gonna have alot more influence then the last
I didn’t see much of Olbermann last night, but I bet he didn’t mention this CNBC idiot — as he never mentions Larry Kudlow or Joe Scarborough.
MSNBC I’m sure contractually expects immunity from “Worst Person” dishonors of all NBC-Universal/GE personnel.
yup
see my 19, this guy will go viral and if he wants to run for office he will be a republican icon
I bet CNBC ranter had NO problem with the AIG, CitGroup, Bank of America bailouts though.
It’s all about picking on the downtrodden and hailed as a hero.
Oh, how fucking brave.
well, Santelli doesn’t have that many supporters among the callers to WJ.
I hope we get to hear the rant he gave when we bailed out Wall Street with no strings attached, … oh wait…
LOVE that blog! I check it out daily.
If you want more details you can e-mail me at mgpaquin AT aol DOT com and I could probably figure out a way to send you a copy of the “regular” service being done now as well as the palm blessing and Passion Gospel narrative Fr. Liam asked me to do.
Thank you. I will do that for sure.
I know! I would love to find out where Mr. “Pure As the Driven Snow” Limbo is hiding his money!
Excellent.
FYI, Howard Dean’s about to be on MoJo.
Short story but I think it’s illuminating:
When I first read about the Post cartoon yesterday, I immediately saw it as racist, violent and threatening, albeit in that wimpy, cheetos-flecked right wing tool sort of way.
Unfortunately, I overdid it in the old home gym yesterday, and apparently hurt my back. I went to bed, but got distracted reading a book of Lovecraft’s early (and especially racist) fiction, so I stayed up too late. Then after only a few hours fitful sleep I woke up to find my right eye all sore and dried out and my back clenched up like a fist (I guess I *really* overdid it). I got up, gobbled some aspirin and a soda (to make it work faster) and sat down to read at the computer until I could get a little more rest.
When I re-read the Post cartoon *this morning*, exhausted, half-asleep, half-blind, confused, in pain, hunched over, head still partially awash in bad dreams and 1920s-vintage racist claptrap, mouth full of bitter garbage and stomach full of acid… I saw the cartoon the way the Post editor *claims* to see it, the way the right blogosphere claims to see it. As being, you know, har-har, a joke about a marauding chimp.
Is this demi-human state what it’s like to be a Republican? I wonder…
And Salon has a piece on Michelle Obama; proceed with care. It will make you gag. What has happened to us?
Odd how contemporaneous this all is with the chimp as Significant Other that went violent…just hard to know what to make of the li’l Chimp these days. Sure hope you feel better.
All the rascist attacks on the right smack just a tad of desperation. Methinks things for the GOP are gonna get much worse before they get better. I would love to be a fly on the wall inside Michael Steele’s brain these days. Although I would make sure to fly out his ear before it exploded. Can’t wait to see his hiphop campaign to rebuild the Republican brand and bring all those “Nee-gros” back into their big tent. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
Good morning, all! I feel strangely optimistic about life today. Hope it lasts.
This from the CNN dot com.
Aren’t they missing the most offensive part. They ’shot’ Obama as a solution. The racism isn’t as offensive as the violence.
I didn’t see it on a cursory look at their main page. Who wrote it? (I used to enjoy Salon, but now, not so much…)
It’s listed in the “Broadsheet” pretty far down on the main page, I think.
It’s the long-suppressed (and barely-suppressed) poisons being brought to the surface, where it can be fought openly. No more hiding behind code language!
Okay. Thanks — I’ll hold my nose and check it out. (Although probably later, as I should really do some work while I’m sitting here in my office…!)
I’m not entirely sure what you mean about stuff being contemporaneous, but then again, I’m firing on half the normal cylinders so that’s probably me. Thanks for the well-wishes though! I’m sure I’ll recover.
That’s the thing, I’m already somewhat better and much more normal mentally. Which makes me feel, you know, sort of bad, for the people who function that badly… every day… and never know the difference.
Santelli going to be on the Today Show…we’ll see.
Santelli only screams…
the biggest sin in journalism used to be for the reporter to become the story ..rather than reporting the story ..
imo .. that’s the problem with all the right wing jocks .. and now santelli .. in reporting the news .. objectivity should be the aim .. in infotainment .. not so much so ..
santelli seems to be mad because he thinks he now won’t be able to buy foreclosed houses and repossessed cars for pennies on the dollar ..
and imo .. what he did on air was not a thing to be lauded .. but a cause for dismissal .. but hey ..what do i know .. the only teevee i ever see are the clips notorious enough to get posted on the innertubes ..
still .. if it’s my network ..and i’m your boss ..and you become the news instead of reporting it .. you’re outta there …
Santelli is the plutocrats voice of the people.
A phony asschapper without a shred of decency in his shriveled heart.

If you are going to leap into the cacophonous chorus of calling conservatives racist, just because you possess such a foregone conclusion, perhaps you should check out the truth of what you are saying before you slander others unjustly.
This is a lie, check out http://homepage.mac.com/mkoldy…..97662.html to verify.
Further, I saw that chimp cartoon, there was nothing racist about it, but the bigoted prism through which liberal/progressives view those who disagree with them leads to foolish name-calling.
“Courtesy itself must convert to Disdain if you come in her presence.” Much Ado about Nothing, Shakespeare
.
OK, class, we’re boycotting the racist NY Post & dumping NewsCorp stock today. Get out your #2 pencils.
.
I’m glad to be loyal to my leader in exile, Bibi Netanyahu, who will lead the fight against the vicious Islamo-Fascists and Communists who would destroy the American way of life.
You just discredited yourself in one line.
I tried the link to the video. Faux news pulled it from You Tube with a copyright claim. Yeah, right.
It’s even funnier than it might seem. There are about 5x as many whites as blacks in the US. For any number of black-white friendships, there must then be on average 5 times as many white friends per black as there are black friends per white.
