On the stimulus bill:

Condolences to Senator Brown for his loss.

Congratulations to Senator Brown on his vote to make history!

Yea for passing it!

——————————

On transportation:

I was watching the t.v. show Now this evening and in a segment about transportation and light rail they talked to some Charlotte, NC officials. One thing which seemed especially interesting to me was how federal dollars are allocated by highway miles and how that gives states an incentive to build more roadway.

I’d suggest the Obama administration look at reforming that calculation from surface-transportation-miles to surface-transportation-PASSENGER-miles. This would balance out the incentives to states for any and all kinds of transportation modes. Buses might do better since they carry more passengers and light rail would clearly do better (than now) with the larger numbers of passengers.

It might be a rule change which could be done quickly and let cities benefit from it and the stimulus LAW right away.

Huffington Post has an open letter to President Obama from a former Republican about how the Rep party is ruled by the regilious right and the neo cons and their leaders won’t budge an inch for 4 yrs. Those religious right and neo cons are fighting their last battle and they want it to be on socialism, not corporate socialism or corporate corruption or banking thievery. It is a distraction away from the biggest financial theft of America and it’s citizens in history. When he became President BO transitioned from speaking (campaigning) to us about what he was going to do for the Democratic party to implementing those jobs he said he would get done. But he is fighting the wealthy, the lobbyist and the financial industry along with much of the media that have controlled the Republican party so well in the past few decades. He campaigned against them and now they are in a battle and he has to be aggressive from the start or they will get their claws in him too like most other politicians. I personally don’t understand how any politician could not care about the millions of job loses, homeowners thrown out on the streets and states going broke and vote against the stimulus bill. Unless they are lieing about this financial mess and this economic downturn has been on purpose and the biggest con job since “The Sting”. Have they been purposely holding back on loans for the past year and a half for a reason other than what we were told? Many of these companies are in trouble because they couldn’t get loans.

Questions, lot of questions:

Who sees to the distribution of proceeds?
How much discretion is there?
Did DiFi make her alleged move on net neutrality?

Guess the anwers will unfold in the fullness of time.
