ZED!
how’s everyone doing tonight?
ZED ES GOOD Evebing
Good evening Suzanne & pups.
Too bad we start with a plane crash. Blessings to all the relatives of those who died.
Digg is open!
That is bad news indeed! No news of possible survivors yet.
doesn’t sounds like there are survivors. how terrible
thanks for opening the digg nahant
welcomed as always Suz(:>))
Reporting no survivors on plane (44 passengers, 4 crew), and 1 dead on the ground.
Why is the blogroll in the middle comment section tonight?
Just caught that on MSNBC… Sure is a shame..
it is not on my end – have you refreshed the page and if that doesn’t clear it, try clearing your cache
Rap violin. Guess nothing’s off limits!
“Eyewitness” on msnbc sez plane on fire in the air, which means it wasn’t weather. Now that’s second hand, as he was not there when it happened, but talked to someone who was there when it happened, so remains to be confirmed.
hey loohoo – that kid is great – i think he is classically trained. if ya click on his name, it takes ya to his site which has free downloads
Evening Suz. Cool stuff.
Ugly way to go.
thanks newton – it got baby girl’s seal of approval when i showed it to her this afternoon.
yup. (shrudder) i forking hate plane crashes
Blogroll is on the right where it is supposed to be now. I may have sowm insabilty in PC.
She’s here! Congrats!
Love the music Suz, thanks.
thanks newton. she hung out with me all afternoon before heading over to beaverton to go to a church that she has been checking out online since she decided to move out here. she called afterwards, said the college age group was great, she thinks she found her church, and is now driving the 2 hours over the coast range back here.
Suzanne, newton, all…
My FIL gets the pilots magazine that analyzes accidents — pretty scary. Any news on the crash of Rove’s IT aide in Ohio (I don’t get the local paper here in Cleveland).
thanks margot. i’m not a huge hip hop fan but … his playing rocked!
hey christine e – it was all over the news when that crash happened but i don’t recall hearing any updates as to the final cause (other than being a whistleblower in a small plane)
My guess is we will hear nothing but speculation for quite a while, and then suddenly the crash findings will be released.
Called credit card co…they answered in Mumbai India. They helped me pay of the bill off online. Very nice lady at the end she started explaining the promotions. I took the one that gave be zero interest for 6 momths on $2,000.00 soes I can get my teeth fixed…I average $2,000.00 a year. Charge is max of $50.00 for the loan.
So I am at the poverty level why are they giving me credit if it is so tight? The bank liquidity argument does not fly here.
Sipping Peace of Mind tea. Lovely stuff.
He is good, Suz. Glad you get to see your babygirl!
How in the world do you live on 2K per year, bb?
my teevee is off right now. where did it crash?
10 miles short of Buffalo airport
i’m gonna go to mexico to get my teeth fixed – at least that is the plan
Clarence, NY on approach to Buffalo AP.
thanks newt, ecahn
I know. I can’t help but think foul play.
I have distant relatives near Buffalo, but I think they are a tad north of there, like Wheatfield.
Wish I could go with you.
I grew up in Buffalo, and still have friends living there. Don’t know if any live in Clarence, but that leaves open the possibilty of knowing some one who was on the plane.
gotta get my passport first. mom said that it costs about 1/10th of what it does in the states
oh, ouch. that’s true. :(
haven’t there been huge winds there today? could that be a factor?
Aloha, Suz! And my Late-late brethren…! ;-)
Will you need a passport for Mexico soon?
my dad grew up in n. tonawanda…
dude. how’s the wife?
Dugg it.
i think ya need one now. just like ya do to go to canada iirc, chris e
hey ct and dosido
Oh, I’m getting the evil eye from MrCE –I loved the Lincoln celebrations today, especially in Springfield (and MrCE’s birthday is also Feb. 12).
That is my dental bills evry year approximated. Veterans Disability is about $950.00 per month. To pay tha loan for the dental work I need to save $334.00 a month. So have to make cuts in food, transportaion/gas. probably shop groceries once a month and grow more of fresh veggies.
We all have to get creative. We have the big $250.00 planned sewer bill here…that could turn me into dust.
Prana baby… live on air it is the Republican way. Down and out in San Diego in the early 60s ( Watts riots) they paid $7.00 a week assistance.
Saw the good news on your little lady CT. That is great..
hi ya!
Good evening Suzanne and everyone. Just a quick drive-by, but wanted to say thank you for the fun violin! I don’t know what it is with string players, but violin players are usually pretty cool, and viola players are often wierdos. But wierd sometimes in a fun way–I saw a Halloween show last year that closed with Viola Zombies–two guys in corpse makeup and wearing hospital gowns that that walked in like zombies while playing their “new” music. They finished the set by rolling around on the floor and “dying,” all the while continuing to play. Did I mention that their day gigs were playing at one time or another with the Oregon Symphony? Ya gotta cut loose sometime, I guess. I loved it all!
And with that, I have some pasta with toasted bread crumbs, anchovies and capers calling my name, so goodnight all!
give him the evil eye back
Great, newt! Thanx, Ya’ll for ya’ll’s thoughts and prayers…! *g*
i agree – i played the viola when i was in jr high and i admit, i’m pretty forking weird.
Just because we need to work in a few hours, sheesh!
I was awake and had the TV on when TWA800 crashed into Long Island Sound in 1996. I also stayed up well into the night on that ocassion.
Turned out that was a wet run for Operation Bolinka, although the “official” reports said it was some fuel tank cockamanie bullshit.
Think this one is just a plane plain crash.

CT, so happy for you both.
Some reports say icing on the front of the wings, some say winds were gusting, but the aircraft is reported as sophisticated. Weather of that sort is common in that area, so who knows. Some second hand eye witnesses say plane was on fire in air, but “experts” say that is unlikely. So we’ll just have to wait until the stories sort out.
loohoo, my mom has all the info on a guy that a buncha her friends go
I hope to return shortly, but…! ;-) Aloha and Mahalo! *g*
Where do you live now?
So as not to set precedent, we almost never allow address and phone information to be publicly displayed, unless it’s a member of Congress’ official info. But thank you, in this very limited circumstance.
My condolences to him. *g* Only kidding. I loved growing up in that area, but wouldn’t want to live there now that I’ve seen some of the rest of the world.
Oh, kewl, NYS trooper on cnn has perfect upstate nasal accent. Makes me homesick. Not.
Hey CT, i’m glad to hear good news!
Happy Birthday, Mr. CE!
Gotcha. (and hi!)
I get it. and the golden days of manufacturing were over long ago!
You know who the weirdest of all are? Piano tuners.
We had one guy who was from Scotland tune our piano all the time I was growing up. Mr. McClachlan.
Not mean or scary, just a very odd dude. So were the others I’ve met since then.

Thanks Loo Hoo! He left me with a shake of the head and I think that I may be in the dog house. But I will pass on your birthday greetings.
well, I wish I could stay. But my peeps are not cooperating. It’s past everyone’s bed time and they won’t leave me alone!!!
so I guess I gotta tuck ‘em in and tie ‘em down.
nite.
good luck and g’nite
And thanks Suzanne! Oh, I guess I’m going to have to leave. Good night all!
g’nite christine e
A much longer and in-depth conversation on that subject could happen at a different time. But yes.
nite chris
it’ll be fine
OMG. Read about our filthy food.
NYT
i just threw up a little bit in my mouth reading that. ewwww
Protean and ruffage. What’s the problem? /s
AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Suzanne and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
Ok folks strap it up, the Norske is back on tanight and I ain’t takin’ any prisoners. Is this thread open to common folks or do ya hafta have a fuckin law degree to respond ta postings?…Is it my imagination or are some of the regular posters organizin’ their own orchestras and requirin’ ya ta have yer own instrument ta play? I had the temerity ta post a comment ta her highness the Emptywheel this afternoon and it got scrubbed ‘cuz it was for lawyers only…what the fuck is THAT all about??!!
Jest tell me that I got enough bonefides ta consort with the night crew here Sister Suzanne.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, I DON’T WANNA CONSORT WITH LAWYERS ANYWAY!!
My coffeemaker made its last pot of coffee this morning, then died. I went out and bought a new one tonight. I am currently negotiating with it about the possibility of having fresh hot coffee in the morning. The instructions were apparently written in another language and imperfectly translated into English. Many of them seem contradictory. This is an electronic, “digital” coffeemaker. I was hoping to find a simple old-fashioned one with a simple mechanical on/off switch but no luck. Too many things can go wrong with anything “digital,” and of course it is not possible to fix them, you are supposed to junk the coffeemaker and buy a new one.
…as Loo Hoo does her Dr. Kirk Murphy impression…
Fate worse than death, not to know how to get your electronic coffee maker to work in the morning. My deepest condolences.
So what DON’T they allow in our food?
fat
norske, late late nite is where off topic is the topic and no degrees are needed
gasp! i hate it when my coffee maker dies.
EW has a pretty high tolerance over there from what I’ve seen. Did’ja flame bmaz or something?
From Krugman tonight… Falure to rise:
Over all, the effect was to kick the can down the road. And that’s not good enough. So far the Obama administration’s response to the economic crisis is all too reminiscent of Japan in the 1990s: a fiscal expansion large enough to avert the worst, but not enough to kick-start recovery; support for the banking system, but a reluctance to force banks to face up to their losses. It’s early days yet, but we’re falling behind the curve.
That was exactly what I was about to ask. sigh.
i’m about to the point that the only thing not allowed in food are nutrients
Thanks. I wouldn’t expect any more. Unfortunately. Too little too late is the theme we’ve been chewing on.
Oh dear, I really feel for you.
Go to Walmart or Kmart and get a 14 dollar coffeemaker. The one I have now is a Sunbeam, has lasted at least a year, has a button to switch it on and off and a light glows when it’s on. That’s it. I don’t like digital stuff either.
Los Osos Ca by Morro Bay…allergies make me live in the marine air layer by the coast. You…where in SD?
Nite Pups! Sleep well when ya git there..
If the President hasn’t had his head handed to him enough times wrt post-partisan leadership in his young administration to learn who to take his advise from…
you may indeed have a point.
The prez has an ego as big as all outdoors and approval ratings thru the roof. He thinks he’s doing all the right stuff.
g’nite nahant
What? I’ve never had a problem over there. Which thread?
try an on line search. There will be instructions that will be simpler. Hopefully.
I wonder if the good doc has done a post on the filthy food! No doubt he has.
Yes. North SD County. I’m happy to help with trips to the TJ dentist. I go now because the work is superior.
Hell no!! I agreed with the woman fer Christ’s sake…said that the good Attny General was gunna hafta shit er get off the pot for the judge in two weeks…next thing I know, the comment is “disappeared”…make me now, this won’t be the only time folks get bounced from a couple a the kool kids’ playgrounds.
so it takes a computer and the Internet to figure out how to use my coffeemaker! what’s wrong with this picture?
actually I have run it through several cycles with fresh water each time to make sure it is clean, and the on/off function seems pretty straightforward. I’m not going to wrangle with the automatic timed function tonight.
I’m just afraid that the digital controls will go haywire while the basic machine itself still has life in it. That has happened to me before. Seems like such a waste.
yes
I have a 12 year old Braun bean grinder. I boil the water and filter with number 4 unbleached filters it is faster than a coffeee machine. Just drips threough the filter the cone holder is a cheap plastic. Same with tea.
Here’s one.
disregard that link and try this one
Citizen Loo Hoo:
It wasn’t on HER weblog …it was right here at FDL!!!
Wow superior materials too? Around Vista?
Near Amtrack?
Anything’s possible. Once I broke the pot and had to buy a new coffee maker…
Just fiddle around with it, hard to break the digital part!
the ew piece today at fdl was cross-posted from her ew blog and when ya click on the title on the front page, it takes ya to her blog
Eat Shit and Die. How perfect!!
and norske, i checked the fdl filters and there was nothing from you that was moderated that i can tell
Citizen Suzanne:
All I know is that I posted a comment on the FDL comment page #4 and saw it come up in front of a couple others…5 minutes later it was gone. It doesn’t matter butcha heard it here first.
Sister Suzanne:
I’m past it now, thanx for the peek but I’m jest warnin folks if maybe it starts happenin ta others.
Thanks. We will check systems.
Sorry for the problem.
The one about Gregg?
It’s in Tijuana on Revolution.
I have done that too. Even used paper towels for filters, messy but it worked.
I used a sieve on an old glass carafe, boiled water, poured thru paper towel/coffee/sieve thingy.
i have a french press for making coffee when there is no power – i heat the water on top of the jotul (which baby girl says looks like a tiki head by the way)
Don’t look now, but there is a picture of the octuplet mother’s belly on Huffpo. Lord have mercy.
I have never been able to make a decent cup of coffee in a French press. No idea why.
noooooooooooo i refuse to look
i’ve gotten better results when i let it steep for 4 minutes and then press
what coffee drinkers won’t do for their coffee…
Long week, extremely long day, but for me it is TGIF!
hiya, pups
hey et – how forking cold is it tonight and has your cold spell snapped?
Good move. It’s true pornography.
actually, I have a french press too, only use it when I travel to homes of relatives who don’t understand the need to drink coffee…could have used it tonite I guess but the coffeemaker dying seemed like an emergency and we just had to get a new one
Hi ET. I see that your esteemed governor couldn’t attend CNAP or CTAP or some such. Playing hard to get?
hey ET
i am not a happy man right now
Relatively speaking. It is plus 19 F here right now, which might be the warmest at night in four weeks.
well, then, whatever you do, don’t let Chuck Norris hear about it…
I have pointedly ignored that person.
norske, we think we found the problem – its some weird thing that has to do with the cross post we think – we are letting the tech crew know
dang, et, that must feel like short sleeve weather after this winter
I’m not sure. One thing I’m sure of, though, is that Alaska politicians are starting to pay attention to Alaska bloggers. Many examples, just from today.
My example from today – I was driving into work this morning and the speaker of the House of Representatives of the alaska Legislature, Mike Chenault calls me on my cell phone about my post that emptywheel cross-posted at firedoglake yesterday.
He didn’t bitch. He just tried to pump me for info, which was fascinating. Nice talk. He’s scared. He’s the active legislator with the highest contribution background from VECO in his past.
He said he’d think about it…
I told him he needs to act on Todd and Sarah Palin’s obstruction of justice, and that if the FBI ends up doing his work for him again. people might be pissed this time.
Have you seen the Aerobie Cofffee & Expresso Maker? I recently obtained one & I am sold on it.

wow, and to think that i knew ya back in the day before you were a dfh blogger
I think I’ve been an aspiring dfh blogger since 8th grade.
all it took was a gentle nudge
HA! Poor dear woman. I hope she got paid for that.
She is a trainwreck :-(
Global Economy Top Threat to U.S., Spy Chief Says
By MARK MAZZETTI
Dennis C. Blair said economic turmoil and the instability it could ignite has outpaced terrorism as the worst threat.
i’m gonna go spend time staring at baby girl – i wonder how long it will take before i get that mom with the eye roll
g’nite pups and thanks for hanging out with me tonight
Fantastic news! Thank you so much for staying on top of this. Imagine what will happen if the Dept. of Justice actually tackles this!
McCain and the pukes thought they could just come to Alaska and change the rules…they could have pulled it off had the election gone the other way.
Give your fellow bloggers big hugs.
nite Suzanne
I shall go to bed with hopeful visions of hot morning coffee
hope the visions don’t keep me awake…
nite all
Totally our biggest threat. I like that Obama’s administration is on it.
Nite, Suz.
And can Microsoft please enter the name OBAMA into it’s dictionary so it’s not underlined??? How disrespectful.

Citizen Suzanne:

Interesting. TPM:
Simon Johnson, an econ professor at MIT and former IMF economist, started blogging recently at TPMCafe. And David Kurtz interviewed him in today’s episode of TPMtv. The argument Johnson makes is one that’s been tossed about in a loose aphoristic way in the public debate but seldom gets put in such blunt and concrete terms. What Johnson argues is that in economic crises in recent decades where the IMF has worked to step in and put things right, seldom if ever do things get fixed unless the political power of the group that caused the mess is somehow disrupted — in most cases the political power of the group that ran the big financial institutions.
I’m there. KISS principle.
Procter-Silex also has a decent full sized drip pot for under $15 – just an on/off button and a red on light. Big Lots has them. Mines been chugging along for a few years.
I’ve seen others without a light – not ok IMO.
just got home from work – it’s my friday night! *happy dance*
anyone still up?
Yes! And happy back at cha.
Citizen newdealfarmgirl:
Still in and out here sister.
*waves at loohoo*
how’s the heart stuff norske? I’ve been sending healing vibes your way, gotta have you healthy and keeping us stoked to fight the good fight.
Norsk…hope you got your question answered. You’re a good guy and I can’t imagine that anyone here would cut off your commentary.
A question, not a statement. Isn’t disrupting political power a primary role of the IMF?
