On POTUS and football. Did anyone besides me notice how the sound went ut on his interview just as he was saying something about Republican support or non-support for the stimulus package? My first instinct was that someone in the producer’s box cut the cable.
Can we please get to the post-postpartisan phase now?
Thank you.
You have to start from scratch and reconstruct this,” Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona told “Fox News Sunday.”
He said the proposed bill, with a price approaching $900 billion, “wastes a ton of money.” Kyl took issue with items in the bill, including a $500 tax rebate, the creation of dozens of new government programs and transfers of cash to states.
This is such bullshit. The problem with the tax rebate is what? It gives miney to people who “don’t pay taxes” ? this is wrong on so many levels. I think there were no Dems on that program to refute this crap, though. Transfers of cash to the states? Gatta problem with that? Better tell all the R governors standing in line with their hands out. The creation of dozens of new programs? This is where they just have to fight it out. It’
s a philosophical thing. We need greater federal involvement. That’s what our side says. We won.
Re: the Stimulus and the creation of the so-called “Bad Bank” – it will be announced later this week that all of the worthless paper (debt) will be dumped onto the FDIC (you and me), while the banksters retain all of their profits from the ride up, AND the profits from the short bets they placed in advance of the ride down:
http://oxdown.firedoglake.com/diary/3396
The so-called “bailout” is nothing more than the taxpayers paying off the bets made by the insiders (globalist banksters), who caused the bubble AND the collapse.
There are laws against this, you know.
Was watchin’ Imus until Monica Crowley. Asked about the Obama interview on the Today Show, her first comment was about no tie.
They got nuttin.
postpartisanship = final death blow to the left
Mornin JOe and Cramer screaming that Obama is Lenin and you people are screaming it’s the “end of the left”. What bullshit.
Yeah. Ya gotta respect te Oval Office doncha know? Gotta wear a jacket. Ordering torture is no disrespect. Nixon wore a jacket. taping people and covering up crimes is no disrespect. And didn’t these same people used to say Clinton disrespected the office by getting blowjobs there. He always wore a jacket and tie while working. Didn’t that make up for it? Yup. they got nuthin’. Whatsoever. Did Imus borrow one from Joe The Biden? “Who gives a shit?” ????
As he is one of my two South Carolina Senators, I can say that Jim DeMint (sounds French) is possibly the dumbest man ever elected to the Senate. Given the competition, even within state, that’s saying something.
There are seldom dims present to refute, and when there are, they are usually incompetent in the “refutiation” department. :-(
Well, if Joe & Cramer sez Obama = Lenin, it must be true. You’ve convinced me to change my mind.
John McCain complaining about no end game,,,,,biggest deficit etc….Thank the American people that he did not win…Good Morning
Morning All
There is dumb and then there is Jim Inhofe
Mornin’, Raven -
Given a choice, I’ll take the Lake crying in its collective beer over scar and *his* take on the decline of politics. Do you have a third choice in mind? *g*
Daschle….will he be influenced by the 5 Mill$ he recieved from health care industry. Is there an honest one up there?
Imus talking about Daschle this a.m.
Notes Schieffer’s observation that “everybody likes Tom.”
My thought, hey, yeah! that’s why he’s Senate Majority Leader….
Oh, wait.
This guy NAILS it:

Whenever I start grinding my teeth (which is pretty much all the time) about how things are going in deecee, that’s the only thought that brings a little relief.
For that particular job, there is only one right choice: Dr. Dean!
yes!
The footnote to this passage reads:
That’s from 2500 years ago, folks. The more things change, the more they remain the same.
I supect that some of the nations creditors like the Chinese and the arabs and so forth told Unlcle same that they will not take a bath in the US market. If they do, they shut of the spigot and stop buying our bonds, which allow us to buy their exports.
The bankers are only the whores who take huge transaction fees and place bets on the fixed market moves.
No guilty party has or will pay their price for the misdeeds
“Conservative” is the new “Radical”
Why Republicans refuse to quote Eisenhower:

Got “discernible reality?”
I know. They’re losing it. Fun to watch, but of course, there are some neck drooling knuckle draggers who are watching Joe’s show and thinking they are telling the truth because ‘it’s a liberal show’. See the psychology of the right wing media? It’s pathetic!
Hey, SD…You scholar. Nice start.
I didn’t know that Wal-Mart’s purchases in China were made possible with money obtained through bonds we sold to China.
That passage really got my attention. *g*
Actually those international creditors have a legitimate fraud case to bring against the Banksters who sold them the bill of goods. It was not the American people who promoted the sale of derivatives to the tune of hundreds of trillions of dollars. It was all facilitated by “Bloomberg Terminals.” Michael Bloomberg’s company had evidence of the fraud on a scale unprecedented in human history, and the knowledge that it would cause a global economic collapse, but failed to report it. The legal term for people who knew of the crimes, and participated, accepting fees while remaining silent, are guilty of misprision of fraud, of felony, of treason.
You can’t sell thousands of credit default swaps against a single asset and expect it to work out in the end. It’s akin to selling the same house to multiple buyers – then skipping town with their earnest money.
Talk about repeating the past & romance…coverage says the new love of Scott Peterson has left the building….we hope she doesn’t change her mind.
o/t.. was the super bowl on a delay? even after te halftime show? My son was following on-line and had the play results before they were done showing the play on TV.
The Scott Peterson convicted of murdering his wife? I haven’t been following this at all.
5 seconds
Pointless to bring civil fraud case against a bankrupt entity.
Now criminal fraud, that’s another subject. But I won’t hold my breath waiting for Obama’s Justice Dept to bring those cases.
I had a Limpbaugh-listening business associate last week complaining about the stimulus bill not having enough for “sustainable jobs” and “infrastructure spending.” This Repub voter was going on and on about how we need to spend more here and there, and it was basically things Liberals have been proposing for ages.
I half expected Rod Serling to walk around the corner and say, “This…is the Twilight Zone.” Luckily I kept my mouth shut, even though I wanted to say, “Bout time you wised up, ya maroon,” and just nodded in agreement and told him smart he is.
Massive political shift happening right I’m thinking. If we have Repub voters advocating for Liberal economic policy, I’d say we’re heading in a really good direction. Funny thing is, I think it was all part of the plan. This doesn’t happen by accident. Chess playing at it’s finest.
I enjoyed reading Ian’s post last night, however I share your doubts of justice being done.
David Duke is upset:
I love it when they eat their own.
Oh, they’re gonna make the KKK a political party? What fun. County registration records will be such fun reading. Will the sheets of the party leadership have a higher thread count than those of the rank and file?
SPARE ME
Charles Gasparino of CSNBC on WJ is bemoaning the fact that we are bashing the business community for the Wall Street Heist aka TARP. Cry Me a River.
Isn’t Jim DeMint descended from the fictional Pierre DeMint, who argued his head off on behalf of Louis XVI for more permanent trickle down tax cuts to solve France’s huge war debt, economic crisis and increasing poverty?
Know this concept is overused, but there’s something to it. The pendulum is swinging now and picking up steam. Fantastic news.
I love it too, eCAHN. Steele says things are great in the party and nothing needs to change.
Braintrust.
That Scott….wasn’t convicted, but wife is still missing. There had been coverage that he had gotten engaged. How’s that for scary? Then a big stand-off with her dad; engagement over. More than you want to know, except to score one for the good guy.
Thanks for letting us know what Dukes is thinking…These people just never go away.

And with that grisly reminder I’m off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
This Scott Peterson? The one on death row at San Quentin? The Laci Peterson & unborn Connor Peterson, whose bodies washed ashore? Or some other Scott Peterson?
Oops. Owe you a drink.
Ooooops. I must have the last name mixed up…sorry. The one who was a police man and has a missing wife and another wife who had died earlier. I am not going to try on the name again. So sorry.
My son would call that a brain fart.
So do my senior friends…not a fan of the phrase ;)
I think the last name is spelled differently. I know who you’re talking about but haven’t seen anything about it in a while.
I prefer “senior moment.” *g*
Off to tasks. BBL. Have great Mondays everyone.
I had gotten sort of interested in the “engagement” as a stupid woman, tragedy waiting to happen thing. But she got out of the trap with the help of a very “take no prisoners” dad. Scott still under investigation. Can you imagine watching your daughter walking into that?
I’m always amazed at the things humans are capable of doing, for good or ill.
Hate to leave but colour me gone.
BT,
I didn’t get to comment on the video yesterday, but OMG is THAT one perfect video. Thanks for posting it with today’s EMS.
Loved Barney on the attack as to “what” is “American”. Beautiful that he hit that one out of the gate as he listed his economic points.
And FED EX CEO is correct. The stimulus bill could actually use MORE infrastructure investment.
