On POTUS and football. Did anyone besides me notice how the sound went ut on his interview just as he was saying something about Republican support or non-support for the stimulus package? My first instinct was that someone in the producer’s box cut the cable.

You have to start from scratch and reconstruct this,” Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona told “Fox News Sunday.”

He said the proposed bill, with a price approaching $900 billion, “wastes a ton of money.” Kyl took issue with items in the bill, including a $500 tax rebate, the creation of dozens of new government programs and transfers of cash to states.

This is such bullshit. The problem with the tax rebate is what? It gives miney to people who “don’t pay taxes” ? this is wrong on so many levels. I think there were no Dems on that program to refute this crap, though. Transfers of cash to the states? Gatta problem with that? Better tell all the R governors standing in line with their hands out. The creation of dozens of new programs? This is where they just have to fight it out. It’
s a philosophical thing. We need greater federal involvement. That’s what our side says. We won.

Re: the Stimulus and the creation of the so-called “Bad Bank” – it will be announced later this week that all of the worthless paper (debt) will be dumped onto the FDIC (you and me), while the banksters retain all of their profits from the ride up, AND the profits from the short bets they placed in advance of the ride down:

http://oxdown.firedoglake.com/diary/3396

The so-called “bailout” is nothing more than the taxpayers paying off the bets made by the insiders (globalist banksters), who caused the bubble AND the collapse.

There are laws against this, you know.

As he is one of my two South Carolina Senators, I can say that Jim DeMint (sounds French) is possibly the dumbest man ever elected to the Senate. Given the competition, even within state, that’s saying something.

The absence of romance in my history will, I fear, detract somewhat from its interest; but if it be judged useful by those inquirers who desire an exact knowledge of the past as an aid to the interpretation of the future, which in the course of human things must resemble if it does not reflect it, I shall be content.

The footnote to this passage reads:

Thucydides believes future events will resemble past ones, insofar as fear, profit, greed, honor, and competitive “values” continue to govern human nature

That’s from 2500 years ago, folks. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

I supect that some of the nations creditors like the Chinese and the arabs and so forth told Unlcle same that they will not take a bath in the US market. If they do, they shut of the spigot and stop buying our bonds, which allow us to buy their exports.

The bankers are only the whores who take huge transaction fees and place bets on the fixed market moves.

Actually those international creditors have a legitimate fraud case to bring against the Banksters who sold them the bill of goods. It was not the American people who promoted the sale of derivatives to the tune of hundreds of trillions of dollars. It was all facilitated by “Bloomberg Terminals.” Michael Bloomberg’s company had evidence of the fraud on a scale unprecedented in human history, and the knowledge that it would cause a global economic collapse, but failed to report it. The legal term for people who knew of the crimes, and participated, accepting fees while remaining silent, are guilty of misprision of fraud, of felony, of treason.

You can’t sell thousands of credit default swaps against a single asset and expect it to work out in the end. It’s akin to selling the same house to multiple buyers – then skipping town with their earnest money.

I had a Limpbaugh-listening business associate last week complaining about the stimulus bill not having enough for “sustainable jobs” and “infrastructure spending.” This Repub voter was going on and on about how we need to spend more here and there, and it was basically things Liberals have been proposing for ages.

I half expected Rod Serling to walk around the corner and say, “This…is the Twilight Zone.” Luckily I kept my mouth shut, even though I wanted to say, “Bout time you wised up, ya maroon,” and just nodded in agreement and told him smart he is.

Massive political shift happening right I’m thinking. If we have Repub voters advocating for Liberal economic policy, I’d say we’re heading in a really good direction. Funny thing is, I think it was all part of the plan. This doesn’t happen by accident. Chess playing at it’s finest.

David Duke is upset:

GOP traitors appoint Obama Junior as Chairman of the Republican Party
I am glad these traitorous leaders of the Republican Party appointed this Black racist, affirmative action advocate to the head of the Republican party because this will lead to a huge revolt among the Republican base. As a former Republican official, I can tell you that millions of rank-and-file Republicans are mad as hell and aren’t going to take it anymore! We will either take the Republican Party back over the next four years or we will say, “To Hell With the Republican Party!” And we will take 90 percent of Republicans with us into a New Party that will take its current place!

Scott Lee Peterson (born October 24, 1972) is an American who was convicted of the murder of his wife, Laci Peterson, who was eight months pregnant at the time, and their unborn son, Conner. Peterson’s case dominated the American media for many months.

On April 14, a male fetus washed ashore from San Francisco Bay in Richmond’s Point Isabel Regional Shoreline,[13] north of the Berkeley Marina, where Scott had been boating the day of Laci’s disappearance. The next day, a partial female torso missing its hands, feet, and head washed ashore in the same area. The bodies were later identified as Laci and Conner Peterson. Autopsies were performed, but due to decomposition the specific cause of death could not be determined. The medical examiner did note that Laci had suffered some broken ribs (the 5th, 6th, and 9th ribs) prior to her death; these injuries were not caused by the body dragging along the rocks in the bay. Prosecutors theorized that Laci may have been suffocated or strangled[14] in the couple’s home.

And FED EX CEO is correct. The stimulus bill could actually use MORE infrastructure investment.
