Sarah Palin has been telling Esquire Magazine that “Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me,” Alaska’s bloggers are trying to mobilize people around the United States and elsewhere to come to the aid of the Lower Yukon community of Emmonak. In Emmonak, people are having to flip coins to decide, “food or fuel.”

Maine’s Democratic state Sen. Dennis Damonck introduced legislation Tuesday that would legalize same-sex marriage, but as he was speaking at a news conference, his Republican counterpart was drafting legislation to restrict marriage to one man and one woman in the state’s constitution.
Damonck’s legislation seeks to redefine marriage as the legal union of two people rather than between a man and a women, thus making civil marriage equality a reality in the Pine Tree State. At a news conference yesterday he said:
Today I have submitted an act to end discrimination in civil marriage and to affirm religious freedom.

I don’t know why Barack Obama decided to dine with radical extremists like Charles Krauthammer, William Kristol, Rich Lowry and David Brooks last night nor do I particularly mind that he did — it was an exercise in pacifying the DC chattering class who have shown they are willing to rip into a new President like a pack of wild hyenas if obeisance is not paid to them.
