Women, gays, minorities, low income earners, etc. are American citizens deserving of the same rights and respect due any other American citizen, so you’ll forgive us if we defend them when Republicans try to scapegoat them or deprive them of their rights. Like libel, I don’t think it’s demonizing if it happens to be true.

Again, what happens any time a Republican does anything remotely close to standing up to an issue relating specifically to women, homosexuals, minorities, low income earners, etc? They are demonized to the nth degree and everyone here knows it. They should have done it anyway and I think they know that now considering the situation they are in. Unfortunately a lot of low income earners had houses they should never have had, with risky loans they should have never received.

Nonsense. You must not remember the strategery in ‘02-”run on the war”. Since 9/11, till then, the Democrats gave Bush everything he asked for. It was turned into a political issue by a deliberate attempt to tar Democrats with the “unpatriotic” brush, a cynical ploy to demonize the opposition and smear people into keeping silent.

And now Republicans across the land, after destroying everything they have touched, are wailing and gnashing their teeth because they’re not getting everything they want anymore. Tough. You guys had your chance, and you screwed the pooch. The least you could do is try not to destroy the people trying to clean up your mess.
