Old 97′s – Dance With Me music video featuring Tricia Helfer from Battlestar Galactica.
What’s on your mind tonight?
suz!
Evening Suze.
Suzanne!
(whatever happened to that link to show new comments without having to refresh the whole page?)
{{{ Suz }}}
It went the way of teh Zed !
Showing off MrCE:
Dissection
Be gone for evah.
Suz how are you feeling tonight? Hopefully that bug has left you!!
Damn, Suzanne, it didn’t link — I couldn’t paste the url in the box.
Suzanne is having some connection issues this evening – fracking NSA still on the job – so if she is not able to come in, you are
hosted bystuck with me for the evening.Putting on pads now.
You just might need them Lurk after a thread on the one and only Ruushhhh Limberdink!
Woo Hoo … we’re home alone !!!
Who’s got the
keys to the liquorSilly String ?Suze & Pups! Hope you’re feeling better, Suzanne.
What’s on my mind tonight? Wondering why the eff i do stupid things like volunteer to go home early so i can go in to work tomorrow on my day off. My kids say it’s because i don’t have a life. Hrumph. What can they possibly be talking about?
off to bed. nite, all
I lobbied heavily against that particular post (knowing full well what would follow), and I lost.
No pull around here yet. Probation sucks.
OK, I’ll try the old way first. MrCE has a new book that will be pretty weird and bizarre to most. It is a book about medical students and their cadavers, and the photography they used to document their journey through medical school.

This DIGG is for SUZ!
erm, don’t you mean “Limpdink”? I thought that’s why he has his little pill addiction …
Heh. NSA indeed. Think it’s a FDL ploy to steal our identities. *g*
Well then,
Lurk!
G’nite !
Dugg it!
’scuse me. Are you trying to take credit here for having no life? Think the competition is of Olympic proportions.
That was to Spurious …
which, as we all know, is dead
Sure does the Big One!! You will just have to hire someone new so you can have some seniority! And then you can pick and choose(:>
Dam I mean LimperDink!
What’s Life ?
A Magazine
How much does it cost ?
10 Cents …
Right the first time, and I am ahead of you.
Hi Sunny.
Everybody say “Ahhhhh” for Dick Armey. Joan Walsh her revenge.
That’s interesting.
My mom wanted her body donated for medical research. She hadn’t done all the paperwork by the time of death, but my bully brother got it effectuated. She became a cadaver for U. of Rochester medical school anatomy, and we got a thank-you letter from the student. Was happy she got what she wanted.
Dugg!
Ouch! Busted!
Suzanne, if you can hear me, I wish you good health–and good connectivity!
If Lurk gets out of line, we will just call in the rugby team…
I remember when my first hubby came home from medical school smelling like phamaldahyde. Bathing really didn’t help much.
18 people have to quit for me to move into influential territory.
I am screwed for a while.
So you ready to reveal your identity? I’ve met two of you, but if you prefer to remain anonymous, I’ll respect that. In fact, I respect all the thankless tasks all the mods do. Raising glass to you! Hear hear!
I have connectivity issues of my own…my desktop computer is located too far in my sprawling house from the cable router…I alternate between IE, FF and Safari to see which will give me the best reception. It sucks.
Wow! That is quite a story. Most of the physicians became rather fond of their cadavers. And protected them. Others, not so much and there was some photography that showed dark humor on the part of physician and student.
Wow. Such a competitive job. I had no idea.
I was gonna say, I could smell the formaldehyde as I looked at that link!
there are mods, and then there are mods, but I do believe there is only one Lurking Mod…
MrCE says that students carried the smell of the dissecting room. Yech.
Flattery is strongly encouraged.
Kiss-assery – not so much.
usually i hesitate to raise my voice in this illustrious, literate, and articulate group, but i believe i can contend with the best of the Pups when it comes to having no life. When proclaiming with excitement to various friends that i’ve almost reached the top 10% of georgers in the nation, the universal reply is “You need to get a life!”
I congradulate Mr. CE for his literary and professional achievements, but I think I will leave them for others to look at…:)
Our Super Duper Lurking Mod. And we love him.
I hadn’t expected Obama’s “bipartisan ship” to founder quite this soon.
It’s part of life and death. What do people think goes on in medical schools? I was a science major and dissected something in sophomore biology. One of my more difficult tasks, as organisms are surprisingly complicated. And we didn’t even have to do the nervous system.
My family is, thankfully, very pragmatic about such matters.
I can imagine, but not sure I want to read about, what goes on in the anatomy labs of medical schools.
Yes, I agree. I’ve just lived with for so long. And European collections will scare the pants off any of us.
The “Lurk.” Seems somehow sinister, yet not in reality, as provides an environment where we can be we.
kiss, kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss
kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss,
Looked downright respectable from here.
(took fleet fingerwork, eh?)
Sinister?
Take that!
They are writing more about the rite of passage of medical students, and less about the science. It is all about forging an identity.
roflmao.
I would not be part of that group, but I do have my own peculiar “get a life” aspects.
You can stay.
Forging an identity? Isn’t that dishonest?
Sorry, for eCAHN at 50. Hiya Pups!
Whoa. Did you really have to do that?
Thanks. I have been waiting years to hear that.
These new 802.11N routers access points are supposed to have better range, and many notebooks come with 802.11N capability built in. Else it would also require a plug-in 802.11N device (USB or PCMCIA) at the computer.
Suzanne has the mod chair to herself, and it is embargoed, as you know.
I mod with the tools I have, not the tools I want or need.
Easy for you to say.
Oh Lord, the things you could do to us. Yum.
No, I don’t think so. Becoming a doctor is a long, very strange process. I’ve worked for years looking at the history of medicine through MrCE and I’ve learned a lot about medical education in the last century, here and abroad.
OK, Mr. Lurk, you are forcing me to do this…
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.c…..combat.php
Why dispute the findings but pull the plates anyway? Something is fishy here?
Heh. As a popular culture moron, I must thank you for widening my horizons!
Yes. I know. I married Bill when I was nineteen and he was twenty. I witnessed the entire process from his freshman year at Tulane through his 40th year. What a journey.
My Kung-Fu is stronger than your Kung-Fu!
i hope…
Aloha, Late, late Niters…! ;-)
Great catch!
Hop right on the pop culture moron bandwagon. I learned everything I know from your usual gracious hostess, Suzanne. I am faking it HUGE!
My dear recently departed friend from VT told me about 2-3 years ago that he had tried to penetrate the DOD acquisition procedure with a better ceramic vest but ran into a stone wall. Of course, his small company had not bribed the right officials.
I can’t imagine going through what you two did — the process of our journey in the history of technology to Ph.D. was super weird and asshattery enough.
Neuro the Browser has nothing to do with your reception! It is the wireless radio, you can add a second wireless hub with more output and you will get a better “Connection” no matter which browser you use…
Hiya CT! How is paradise?
http://www.google.com/hostedne…..QD96153PO0
A bullet hitting at a slower speed like from far away could get through the plate.
The Good Doctor had the last word…
I’m not even aware enough to catch onto what Rachel is talking about in her closing segment.
As for faking it, my son is a spectator sports fan. U would not believe how a sentence from him that I repeated has turned into a whole conversation starter. Like: How ’bout them Yankees?
I have many stories to tell. Bill did his residency in San Francisco, 1974. Cwazy.
No kidding. Why isn’t somebody going to jail?
testing
Cause the republicans only put innocent governors in jail. Maybe the dems will do something about it.
Uncle! That is great!
Hi CT, how are ya?
well, it does seem that when one browser won’t get me online–or let me stay online–sometimes one of the others does…
I know, I really should get a more powerful router, will do that one of these days…
What was the company? Is it still in business? Was a better product ignored and our troops given a lesser product because they didn’t bribe Bushies.
We just need to prove that there was a better product available and that it did not get the contract.
Then we let the Army and Bushies justify why they did not pick the better product.
Yeah, if Holder wants to smooth some feathers in this house (not all of them, mind you), Siegelman comes first.
Speaking of cadavers.
I don’t know. Sometimes what I think I need is a power saw for my computer.
Another very good question.
If I may jump in – NetGear self-config routers are excellent. When my clients can’t or won’t use Apple hardware, I go straight for NetGear.
I am not a big fan of LinkSys (Cisco).
http://www.amazon.com/Mutter-M…..0922233314
Superior Technical Ceramics. Don’t know why they didn’t get into the DOD acquisition process, as my contact was 3-5 times per year. But I’d say that I trust my friend’s representation that he had a superior design.
What’s on my mind tonight? Watching CSPAN and a Princeton dude named Uwe Reinhardt, quoting familiar statistics (1% of Americans own 34% of the wealth) and asserting that we’re no longer a Democracy, but an aristocracy. He’s asserting that Wall Street bankers are just totally out of touch. This goes with news today that while the economy is tanking, bank executives are getting their fattest bonuses ever (and why do I think most of that money is coming from taxpayer bail-outs?)
And then I also read today that BushCo was warned that this kind of meltdown was predicted in advance, and the FBI wanted to put some agents onto it, but BushCo said, naw, don’t bother. Just keep after the terrarists, y’know.
So that first $350 Billion given away by Hank Paulson? Looks like the organized rape of the American taxpayer by Wall Street Bankers, perhaps afraid that their gravy train was about to come to an end.
These guys need serious raking over the coals.
Bob in HI
I have Belkin. Is that, like, the Yugo of routers?
Aloha, CE and Sunny!
Jail. These guys need loooooong jail sentences. They need jail paragraphs.
Jail books. Hardback. They need fucking Encyclopedia Britannicas.
I’m not a fan of Belkin, but admittedly I only have one of them in my experience, and it was terrible. It could have been a Friday.
Like hard disks, I have to stick with what has the lowest failure rate (Seagate Caracuda), so it could be a bias of mine.
Yes, yes.
OK. Time to hit the sack. Gnite all.
Gnite e.
good night eCAHN
To bad your friend is gone we need to prove that better products were ignored for Bush products. New Independent tests of all the Vests available and engineer reports the real ones not the ones the army used to justify a contract are what we need now.
Maybe the Lake needs a experts directory of commentors we can refer questions to in their area of expertise if they want to answer of course.
Nite eCHAN
You mean the one with Dan Rather? Or the one that started on Gitmo and ended with the abrupt resignation of Mike McConnell as DNI?
Bob in HI
Chris, the book looks cool–congratulations to Mr. CE!
Hey you all.
I agree with the assessment of Belkin never met a good one. but I do like LynkSys they have always worked well. Although
I did have one go bad, but as it was under warranty I was sent a new one overnight! Their tech support is in this country which made it easy to talk to them, unlike many of the others…
This link is too good not to share: How to Make a Schadenfreude Pie mmmm! I’ll bake up some to share at LateLate when Rove gets frog marched off to jail. Where he can rot the rest of his days and good riddance!
Hey thanks, Margot,
Jim has been working on this for years and it will come out in April when the American Assoc. for the History of Medcine meets in Cleveland this year.
My most recent LinkSys problem was related to it’s inability to retain its PPPoE settings over a week. Kept dumping the settings table, and the one they replaced it with did the same thing. Could be a fluke, but as I said, I have to keep repeat visits to a minimum, even if they aren’t really my problem. In this business, EVERY problem is the consultants problem.
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo…..e-math.php
I bet the GOP shared this study with the Blue Dogs.
link won’t work for me
Give em the Oxford English Dictionary.
We, taxpayers and shareholders – both, need clawback. We need someone in govt. to look out for OUR interests. Yeah, sadly, that’s not likely. What has America become? Were we always led by such (un)ethics? I suppose I’ve been naive my whole life, but, wow, it’s coming to slap me upside the head in my retirement. Do I say “shame on me?” or do I merely stand agape at the rape of America?
can’t hit the link
one of these?
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo…..e-math.php
College Freshmen do not get make mistakes like this. This is deliberate. This is fraud!
This is Amateur Hour Stuff! This is an insult to real criminals only 22%ers and Blue Dogs would be fooled by this.
Now that
Is a mouthful!
I hate it when something fails that I have replaced a week later! But of course it is Never the consultants fault! It is always the manufactures fault, but we always called it infant mortality! If it makes the first six months it will usually will last for years. I had many accounts in my xerox days that once I installed it I wouldn’t see it for a couple of years!
The one router I had problems changed it’s MAC address! I know I know it is hard wired but I was monitoring the traffic and I watched it change… I had a hard time beleive it but I had the log from my sniffer.
I hope this works
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo…..e-math.php
Trying again
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo…..e-math.php
Sorry Neurophius The story is at Talking Points Memo
And I will admit to being gunshy about drives.
When I complete an industrial install, I have to rely on the installed drive to stand up. But far too often it’s a Western Digital (which for my money has the highest failure rate). So when I do a Mac Pro install in a video environment, i require the client to replace it. They usually are installing drives in the other 3 slots anyway. But it costs them the drive, and a complete factory-perfect boot drive install (usually $250).
A failure is a lot more expensive. A lot more.
I would like to see the proof of Boner’s claim! 6 million for 1/2 the price sounds like the Boner has been taking his Viagra a bit too much and got things mixed up!
While you spend 6 weeks looking for proof that isn’t there, they have moved on to other lies.
Western Digital has the worst drives evah! I have lost two of them in one year… Never again, Seagate or any other but never a Western Digital. They are good for paper weights or take them apart for the magnets!
Very true! The old bait and switch ploy! The sneaky bastards…
Naw he lied his ass off now I want the MSM to cover this lie with the same coverage they gave this story.
Republicans lie. So?
never happen in the “librul” media!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/ml_iraq_shoe_sculpture
So I want the MSM to call them on it for once.
‘nite, all. happy cadavers, hard drives, GDP multipliers, and whatever!
True.
Nite Folks
I did see that on the news tonight. Bath tub size… Boy would I love to see Bush hit with that one….
nite things

Citizen Suzanne and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
Yo Sister Suszie, last night in the box before I get ta take a little leave to meet the cardiac surgeon so keep the tunes hot and the discussion hotter…and let’s not forget how it feels to win a couple a fights…we can’t get lazy but JESUS folks neither the fascists or their lackiies the Blue Dogs are gunna stop the movement of history.
By the way, has there been a Raven siting lately…I been a bit pre-occupied here, haven’t been keepin’ up.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION AND DON’T SHOOT THE FRIENDLIES!!
Aloha, nahant, newt, things, et al…! ;-)
Citizen Norske,
You got so much heart the cardio surgeons should be paying YOU for access, not the other way around.
I thought I read Raven here this (Thursday) morning
Suzanne had the NSA guys on tail tonight, but she will escape and return to the hot seat tomorrow night.
Citizen Edward Teller:
Great work up there, Brother Teller…yer gunna have SOOOO much fun chasin’ Sarah of the North out of office up there…I know it must seem like an unlikely scenario but when Anchorage starts hurtin’ as much as the indigenous villiages in the boonies, there will be political hell ta pay.
Keep ‘em afloat over there Brother CTut…they got enough ta keep an old squid like yiou busy in the topical Garden of Eden?
Next mission, should we take it – save the Yukon River salmon runs.
And – we’ve taken the mission.
It is going to require shutting down the biggest gang of pirates in the North Pacific. But we’re gonna do it, and soon!
(((Norske)))
CT, you still here?
G’nite and thanks for the great hospitality Lurk.
Love Salon’s revenge – betcha that effer din’t see it coming.
Good night Sunny.
I would be disappointed if we learned that it was Armey’s pathetic attempt at regaining some relevance. NOT!
Citizen Edward Teller:
Now THAT’s a mission worthy of you and your Alaskan freedom fighters…and ya know don’tcha that the coalition ya put tagether ta save the fish will be the political base to replace the corporate malitia government ya got up there now. FIRE IN THE HOLE…KEEP THE RED FLAGS FLYIN’!!! Typhoon Teller is about to hit another fascist shoreline!
Attaturk is upstairs!
Trimming the Shrubbery
