what IS the deal with him? (referring to himself in 3rd person, claiming that were it not for MLK and him, there would not have been an obama presidency, etc.)
HA! So what ever did you two find to talk about?
Geebuz, that’s rather presumptive for him to lump his own sad ass self in with MLK.
And damn, that’s a bright green on Mz. Hampsher.
I can handle the green. *G*
Bright, though . . . lol
We’re losing our home sweet Jane to the halls of power. Not!
And I swear, it looks like Mz. Hampsher’s got a grip on Burris, as if in “no WAY yer getting outta THIS pic, doode”. *G*
He looks blissful. She looks mischievous.
He’s deranged, she’s up to something, no doubt! *G*
I KNOW that sweet smile. I’ve USED that sweet smile. We’ve ALL used that sweet smile.
“Go ahead Charlie, KICK the football.” *G*
I love that sweet smile. *smilessweetlytomod*
(do I ever get off the hate list?)
And Jane’s got a strong hold on that arm. Maybe he was trying to escape.
Roland looks like he’s in over his head.
Strange bedfellows indeed.
;~P
Jane,
You wear the color well!
My friend Pam designed that coat and gave it to me, it sat in my closet for a while and I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off then last week I just said “I’m gonna wear that to the Senate!”
Atrios took that photo. Maybe my favorite picture ever.
Great color for you, Jane. Glad you captured Roland – and the others as well. You do such a good job for us. thanks.
Just to clear my point as it appears Mz. Hampsher is lurking, the green is vibrant, outgoing and shouts out your presence. And that’s a good thing. *G*
Roland Burris is the African-American version of George Ryan; he just hasn’t been caught yet. He’s a political hack who couldn’t win the Democratic nomination for three different offices and so made a deal with the deranged devil to become a temporary U.S. Senator. It’s always difficult (and frequently fruitless not to mention depressing) to predict politics here in Illinois, but I doubt he’ll win the primary when it’s held and he’ll go back to contemplating what he can have chiseled on his mausoleum next. Unless Fitz has more on him than we know. One can always hope…
Where it even to whiff of being constitutional I would have (and a big if I were a senator/sec state of Ill, etc) tried to block this toolbox.
He should have declined.
Oh, and his monument to himself… HAHAHAHA.
Jon Stewart took that one apart in a laugh parade.
Hey Larue!
I think Roland looks pleased to have Jane photographed with him, pleased as punch.
Love that picture.
As to him lumping himself in with MLK and others…
It’s just human to want to be remembered, to want to be more than a speck of dust on this earth.
It is sweetly mortal and I don’t mind people who do this. I just want to hug them and reassure them they are loved and will be remembered.
Movie Night: The Garden up now.
Don’t think there’s much chance we’ll forget Roland :)
Miss Hamsher,
You look divine! But as darling as you are in green your minds rocks sublime. Thanks for all your hard work!
Actually he has a point, he was the first black candidate to win a statewide election in Illinois, he proved that black candidates could be viable. Obama victory had many origins, Burris was one of them.
I love the imagery of a bunch of people standing on each other’s shoulders. Frankly, it sounds weirdly tantric.
So were the thousands of others including his parents and grandparents. To equate himself to MLK is just a scooby-doo moment.
He’s seriously unhinged.
Jane Hamsher visits Madame Tussauds of Centralia.
That depends on which appendage they’re using to balance themselves with.
Sweet! Jane!
